Repair record › Maytag dryers
We've repaired 38 Maytag dryers for this problem between October 2018 and September 2026. This is what was actually wrong, counted from our own job records.
Of the 38 Maytag dryers we've repaired for "not heating", the most common cause was: heating element burned out (10 jobs, 26%), followed by gas valve coils failed (7) and thermal fuse blown (3). The parts we replaced most often were heating element, gas valve coils, thermal fuse.
Seen once each: blower pulley came off, heating element wiring burned, high limit fuse blown, igniter failed, blower wheel failed, power cord connection failed, blower worn out, front drum bearings worn, customer usage issue, clogged dryer vent.
One repair can replace more than one part, so these add up to more than the number of jobs.
