Repair record › Maytag dryers
We've repaired 15 Maytag dryers for this problem between May 2019 and September 2026. This is what was actually wrong, counted from our own job records.
Of the 15 Maytag dryers we've repaired for "will not start", the most common cause was: thermal fuse blown (4 jobs, 27%), followed by drive motor failed (3) and heating element burned out (2). The parts we replaced most often were thermal fuse, drive motor, heating element.
Seen once each: door switch failed, idler pulley failed, user interface board failed, blower jammed by foreign object, cycling thermostat failed, exhaust vent blocked.
One repair can replace more than one part, so these add up to more than the number of jobs.
