Reported: The dishwasher will not run. It says that it’s running but the water is not going into the parts to spin. The customer’s dad looked at it and said that there is water going into the dishwasher but it seems to just be a small amount and sit at the bottom of the dishwasher.

Diagnosis: The water circulation pump had failed. While the dishwasher was receiving some water, the pump wasn’t functioning to circulate it through the spray arms and wash system, leaving water sitting stagnant at the bottom of the tub.

Whirlpool washer (RTW4516FW2) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The washer doesn’t go past the wash cycle it washes and then drains and then blinks on the wash cycle it doesn’t spin them so I ring the clothes out by hand and put them in the dryer. Since the problem started, occasionally it will complete a full cycle if I’m lucky, but most of the time it does what I described above.

Diagnosis: The diagnostic revealed an F5E1 error code, which indicates a lid lock assembly failure. The faulty lid lock prevented the washer from advancing to the spin cycle, as the control board couldn’t verify the lid was properly secured.

Diagnosis: The unit displayed error code F7E5, indicating a shifter fault. This fault appears when the main control cannot determine the position of the shifter. We checked the harness connections from the main control to the motor and shifter, then observed shifter operation to confirm the component had failed.

Samsung washer (WF45K6500AW/A2) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The customer moved and just put in their washer that was working fine before they moved. When the washer was plugged in and turned on, the dial and buttons wouldn’t work. It displayed 45 for a few minutes, then started blinking with an AC6 error code and playing sounds. Turning the machine off and waiting, then turning it back on produced the same result.

Diagnosis: The Samsung washer had a communication harness that had been severed by mice. The AC6 error code indicates a communication error between the inverter PBA and main PBA. This type of damage typically occurs when appliances are stored or moved, creating opportunities for rodents to access internal wiring.

Kenmore refrigerator (795.71033.010) — Canton, OH
