KitchenAid microwave (KMHC319ESS-2) — Akron, OH
Reported: The microwave displayed an error message stating that the door was not closed when it was. The customer noticed that the screw for the door latch was loose and tightened it. When they went to close the door after tightening, it blew the main power fuse. After replacing the fuse, it blew again.
Diagnosis: Both primary door interlock switches had failed. These safety switches prevent the microwave from operating when the door isn’t properly sealed, but when they malfunction, they can cause exactly the symptoms this customer experienced — false error messages followed by electrical faults that blow fuses.
Repair: Work: Replaced both primary door interlock switches and the blown fuse, then reinstalled the microwave over the range · Parts: W10727360 — Primary Interlock Switch (Three Terminal), W10269458 — Primary Interlock Switch (Two Terminal) · Result: Unit operates normally with proper door sensing and no electrical faults

Samsung refrigerator (RF25HMEDBSG) — Louisville, OH
Reported: The customer turned off the ice maker for 2 days, then turned it back on. Water from pressure started running out of the bottom of the defrost drain tube. Thinking it might be a frozen valve from ice, they shut the freezer and fridge off overnight to thaw, but it still did the same thing with the unit plugged in or unplugged. They had to shut the water off or it would overflow onto the floor.
Diagnosis: The water valve assembly had failed, causing continuous water flow that overwhelmed the defrost drain system. This wasn’t a frozen valve issue as the customer suspected — the valve mechanism itself was no longer controlling water flow properly, creating constant pressure that forced water out through the defrost drain tube.

Maytag washer — Minerva, OH
Reported: The washer initially struggled to spin out water from clothes, leaving them soaking wet at the end of cycles. Eventually, the machine stopped working entirely — it would hum when powered on but wouldn’t fill, agitate, or drain. The homeowner was left with a washer that appeared to have power but couldn’t perform any of its basic functions.
Diagnosis: We performed a manual diagnostic test on the Maytag washer and found that all systems except the drain function were operating normally. The bearings sounded healthy with no grinding or unusual noise. The humming sound indicated the motor was receiving power but the failed drain pump was preventing the control board from advancing the wash cycle. When a washer’s drain pump fails, the machine often won’t start subsequent cycles because it can’t verify that water has been properly evacuated.

Samsung dishwasher (DW80J7550UG) — Sebring, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their Samsung dishwasher’s WaterWall wasn’t operating at all. The WaterWall is Samsung’s moving spray bar that sweeps back and forth across the bottom of the tub for enhanced cleaning coverage. Without this feature working, dishes weren’t getting the thorough clean this model is designed to deliver.
Diagnosis: We accessed the motor assembly that drives the WaterWall mechanism and found stripped internal gears. The motor would attempt to engage but couldn’t generate enough torque to move the spray bar assembly. This is typically caused by wear over time, especially if the WaterWall encounters resistance from improperly loaded dishes or debris buildup in the track system.
Repair: Work: Removed old motor assembly, installed new complete unit, tested WaterWall operation · Parts: DD97-00216A — Cover Assembly Nozzle (includes motor and sensor) · Result: WaterWall now sweeps properly across full range, spray pattern restored to factory specification
