The vent controls air pressure and steam release during different wash phases — when it fails, the dishwasher can’t properly transition between cycles. We bypassed the existing vent to confirm this diagnosis, and the unit ran correctly with the vent out of the circuit. Diagnosis: Fan was rubbing and full of lint. The lint accumulation was causing the fan to bind up and create the noise the customer was hearing. We also found the igniter and coil packs needed replacement during our inspection.

Kenmore washer (110.24622300) — Massillon, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer filled with water but failed to agitate or empty. There was no motor sound during what should have been the wash cycle.

Diagnosis: We tested the lid switch and confirmed it had failed. The lid switch is a safety mechanism that prevents the washer from operating when the lid is open, but when it fails, it can prevent operation even with the lid closed.

Frigidaire dishwasher (FGHD2465NF1A) — Massillon, OH

Reported: It was leaking out of the door and then the seal came loose. The customer noticed water escaping from the door area during wash cycles.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the spray shelf in the bottom of the door had become dislodged. This disrupted the proper seal and water flow, causing the leak the customer was experiencing.

Samsung dryer (FRONT LOADER HE) — Massillon, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their Samsung dryer powers on but nothing happens when they try to start the dryer. All the controls and display appeared to work normally, but the drum wouldn’t turn and the cycle wouldn’t begin.

Diagnosis: During inspection, we found the idler pulley had failed. This component maintains proper tension on the drive belt that turns the drum. When the idler pulley goes bad, the belt can’t maintain the tension needed to rotate the drum, preventing the dryer from starting its cycle.

Maytag ice maker (MZD2665HES) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer reported their ice maker was not making ice. The unit appeared to have power and seemed to be cycling, but no ice was being produced or dispensed.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection of the Maytag MZD2665HES ice maker, we discovered the icemaker fingers were jammed. These fingers are critical components that help release formed ice cubes from the mold and move them into the storage bin. When they jam, the entire ice-making process stops.

Repair: Work: Freed the jammed icemaker fingers · Parts: None required · Result: The IM is operating correctly

Amana refrigerator (AFB2534DEW) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer reported their fridge isn’t working. Freezer is fine. This is a classic symptom of a defrost system failure where the refrigerator section can’t maintain proper temperatures while the freezer continues to operate normally.

Diagnosis: The circuit board had failed. This prevented the fridge from defrosting properly. When the defrost system fails, ice builds up on the evaporator coils, blocking airflow to the refrigerator compartment while the freezer section remains unaffected.

Repair: Work: Replaced the board and initiated a forced defrost · Parts: WPW10503278 — circuit board · Result: Initially the replacement board was faulty and not initiating a defrost cycle, so we warrantied it with another board

Kenmore refrigerator (59669319010) — Mt Eaton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their refrigerator not cooling. Food was warming up and the unit wasn’t maintaining temperature in either the fresh food or freezer sections.

Diagnosis: Inspection revealed evaporator coils iced over. The manual defrost was working, which indicated the defrost heater and thermostat were functional. This pointed to a control board failure that wasn’t initiating automatic defrost cycles, allowing ice buildup to block airflow.

GE dishwasher (GSD2200G02CC) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dishwasher was leaking water into the kitchen and needed evaluated. Water leakage from dishwashers typically indicates seal failure or pump issues that can cause significant damage if not addressed promptly.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the sump/pump assembly had failed, allowing water to escape during the wash cycle. This component houses the main pump motor and seals that prevent water from leaking out of the dishwasher tub.

JennAir oven/stove (JJW2427WB00) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the confection oven fan not working, and the unit won’t get temperature on it when it gets up to like 250° an 800 number pops up to call for service. This error message indicated the oven’s control system had detected a fault and shut down operation as a safety measure.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found error codes stored in the oven’s control system that were preventing normal operation. The codes were triggering the service message and causing the temperature control issues the customer experienced.

Repair: Work: Cleared the error codes on the oven and replaced the water filter on the refrigerator · Parts: EDR4RXD1-FILTER 4 – SINGLE (refrigerator water filter) · Result: Oven returned to normal operation without error messages

Samsung dryer (DV42H5200EP/A3) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the dryer is running, spinning and functioning normally except it is not heating up. All mechanical functions worked properly, but clothes weren’t drying because no heat was being generated.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the heating element had failed completely. The element assembly showed typical signs of burnout, which prevented any heat generation despite normal airflow and drum rotation.

Whirlpool refrigerator (ET1MHKXM007) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The refrigerator is fine, but I need an ice maker installed. This was a straightforward installation request rather than a repair — the customer wanted to add ice-making capability to their existing Whirlpool refrigerator.

Diagnosis: The refrigerator was functioning properly and ready for ice maker installation. We confirmed the unit had the necessary connections and space for the ice maker kit installation.

LG washer (WM0642HW) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The washing machine was very loud when running and spinning. The customer also noticed the drum wobbles a lot during operation.

Diagnosis: We found that the drum support on the back of the spin basket is broken. The bearings and spin basket assembly would need replacement. This is somewhat of a common issue with LG washing machines.

Repair: Result: We provided a quote but recommended against proceeding with the repair

Kenmore washer (11020954994) — North Lawrence, OH

Reported: The customer reported that cold water was only trickling into their Kenmore washer during fill cycles. This meant clothes weren’t getting properly saturated, and wash cycles were taking much longer than normal. They suspected either the dip tube had failed or the water valve itself had gone bad.

Diagnosis: After removing the washer’s back panel and inspecting the water inlet valve assembly, we found the issue wasn’t with the valve mechanism itself. The small mesh filters inside the valve’s inlet connections were heavily clogged with sediment and mineral deposits. These filters protect the valve from debris in the water supply, but when they get blocked, water flow drops to a trickle. The dip tube was actually in good condition.

Repair: Work: Removed and cleaned clogged water valve filters · Result: Full water flow restored to washer, proper fill cycles resumed

GE dryer (DX4500EG6WW) — Paris, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the heat selection switch broke off console. This left the dryer without functioning temperature controls on the front panel.

Maytag washer — Salem, OH

Reported: The customer reported error codes E01 and F09 appearing on their Maytag washer. During our diagnostic, we also detected additional fault codes F6E1, F3E1, and F8E1, indicating multiple system failures.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed the motor control board had failed. Additionally, the washer was leaking water and the bearings were loose. Multiple simultaneous failures like this typically indicate the machine has reached the end of its useful life.

Whirlpool refrigerator (ET1CHMXKQ02) — Scio, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their refrigerator was not cooling in the refrigerator section, though the freezer was still working properly. It had been making a humming noise for a few days before it quit cooling completely.

Diagnosis: The refrigerator defrost drain was plugged up and causing frost buildup in the air duct from the freezer to the fridge. This blockage prevented proper airflow between the compartments, which is why the freezer continued working while the refrigerator section lost cooling.
