Diagnosis: The washer in the farmhouse needed a rubber foot. The digital washer in the barn tested good but had one stored error code for long fill — this washer needs to have a hot and cold water supply since the computer utilizes both even if hot or cold is selected. The old direct drive washer needs a transmission which was too expensive to repair. The GE Dryer had a bad timer or motor and wasn’t worth repairing. The Maytag dryer needed several components replaced.

Diagnosis: Cold water was off and the display indicated this was from a water supply issue. The machine had also been interrupted mid-cycle when clothes were removed before completion, leaving it in a confused state.

Diagnosis: We stuck our thermometer in it and monitored it to preheat and several more cycles. The unit was operating correctly at time of appointment, with proper heating function throughout multiple test cycles.

Frigidaire oven/stove (RBE-94N) — North Canton, OH

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed a fuse blown on one leg of the electrical circuit. This type of partial electrical failure explains why the clock still functioned while the heating elements lost power.

Reported: The customer reported screeching noise, sometimes a rattle noise coming from their Samsung dryer during cycles. These sounds typically indicate worn components in the drum belt system that need immediate attention.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the idler pulley had worn out, causing improper belt tension and allowing the belt to slip or rub against other components. This creates the characteristic screeching and rattling sounds as the pulley bearing fails and the belt system becomes unstable.

Diagnosis: I was able to verify compressor operation as well as fan operation, proper air flow in refrigerator and freezer compartment. It appears that due to the refrigerator design, possibly the air flow is not as efficient as some other refrigerators. From the information I read in the technical data, you can expect a temperature variance of 10 degrees from the low point to the high point.

Kenmore washer (Elite) — Norton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Kenmore Elite washer was showing an F20 error code. This code prevents the washer from operating and indicates the control board isn’t detecting proper water flow into the tub.

Diagnosis: Our testing revealed the flow sensor had failed and was no longer sending the correct signal to the control board. The water valve also showed signs of wear and needed replacement to ensure reliable operation.

Whirlpool washer (Cabrio) — Paris, OH

Reported: The customer’s sink flooded on the main floor and water went onto their washer. Now it won’t power up and just goes haywire. They were sure something fried inside of it.

Diagnosis: After hooking up the washer and checking it thoroughly, everything appeared to be operating correctly. What seemed like electrical damage from water exposure turned out to be a false alarm.

Reported: The customer reported their Maytag dryer was making a noise during operation.

Diagnosis: Investigation showed the drum slides and felt seal had worn out, causing the noise during the dryer’s cycle. These components support and seal the drum assembly.

Admiral refrigerator (FGUS2642LF2) — Salem, OH

Reported: The customer called because their freezer was not working and the display showed SYEF. This error code typically indicates a fan motor issue in Admiral refrigerators.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the freezer fan had failed. This fan is critical for circulating cold air throughout the freezer compartment, and when it stops working, the freezer cannot maintain proper temperatures.

Maytag washer (MVWC565FW0) — Salem, OH

Reported: The locking mechanism on the lid and on the machine is broke needs replaced. It wont let us do anything without it. The washer was completely inoperable since the safety system requires a proper lid lock engagement before any cycle can begin.

Diagnosis: Both the lid lock assembly and the corresponding strike were damaged and preventing proper engagement. When the lid lock mechanism fails on this Maytag model, the control board won’t allow any wash cycles to start as a safety precaution.

GE washer (GLWN2800D0WS) — Salem, OH

Reported: The customer reported that when the washer spins it makes banging sounds and the whole washer bounces and is very loud. Additionally, everything was still soaked — there was no water in the washer but the clothes were dripping with water and soapy still.

Diagnosis: We had recently replaced the transmission in this washer. Upon inspection, we found that the tub nut had worked loose and the basket was loose on the transmission shaft. This explained both the violent shaking during spin and the poor water extraction.

Maytag washer (MVWB765FWO) — Tuscarawas, OH

Diagnosis: On our first appointment in March, the icemaker was operating correctly at the time of service. However, the leak returned by May, indicating an internal component failure within the icemaker assembly that wasn’t active during our initial inspection.

Samsung dryer (DV219AEW/XAA) — Uniontown, OH

Reported: My Samsung electric dryer has been making quite a bit of noise. Over the weekend the belt came off so I put it back on. It has since quit making noise but we need it checked out and repaired.

Diagnosis: This is a common issue with Samsung dryer’s. The idler pulley had a steel bushing instead of a bearing in it. It started seizing up and locked up in trash the belt at the same time. Also the dryer vent was pretty plugged.
