Whirlpool washer (LSQ9110PW0) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Whirlpool washer was leaking from bottom. Water pooling under the machine is never a good sign and typically indicates a failed internal component.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the pump was leaking. The water pump is responsible for draining water from the wash tub, and when the seals fail, water escapes onto the floor beneath the washer.

Repair: Work: Replaced the leaking pump and agitator dogs · Parts: WP3363394 water pump, 80040 agitator dogs · Result: The washer is operating correctly

Whirlpool washer (WTW8040DW0) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Whirlpool washer was leaking water onto the laundry room floor. Water pooling around appliances usually points to internal component failure, so this looked like it could be an expensive repair.

Diagnosis: The floor drain that the washing machine discharges into was plugged. We ran the washer through full diagnostics and it passed every test perfectly. The leak wasn’t coming from the washer itself — it was overflow from a backed-up drain that couldn’t handle the discharge water.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic testing confirmed washer functionality · Parts: None · Result: Identified blocked floor drain as the actual problem

KitchenAid refrigerator (Kssc42qvs02) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported their KitchenAid refrigerator’s ice maker not working. It was also leaking water into the bin instead of producing ice cubes.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the ice maker assembly had internal failures causing both the lack of ice production and the water leakage. The optics sensor that controls the ice maker’s operation was also malfunctioning.

Repair: Work: Replaced the ice maker and optics sensor · Parts: WPW10277448 — ice maker assembly, W10757851 — electronic control (optics sensor) · Result: Ice maker resumed normal operation with no water leakage

Reported: The customer reported they weren’t getting cold water to wash with and were only getting hot water from their LG washer. They also asked if we could calibrate their GE Profile oven temperature while we were there.

Diagnosis: The hot and cold water lines were reversed on the washer. This is a common installation error that can happen during setup or if the lines get switched during maintenance work.

Repair: Work: Swapped the hot and cold water lines back to their correct positions, performed a 20 degree offset on the GE oven · Parts: None needed · Result: Washer now delivers proper cold water, instructed customer to do the biscuit test on the oven for further adjustment if necessary

LG washer (WM3360HVCA) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the cold hose sprays out the back when trying to connect. However, when we attempted to diagnose the issue, the washer wouldn’t start at all.

Diagnosis: Since the unit won’t start, we couldn’t see where it was leaking. Our diagnosis revealed that it needs a new control board to restore proper operation.

Kenmore washer (110.20022013) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The washer becomes off-balanced, no matter how small the load. The customer could put one towel in the washer and the washer still becomes unbalanced. The sound is deafening and the washer itself moves forward.

Repair: Result: Multiple major component failures made repair uneconomical

Frigidaire Oven/stove; freezer (PLEF489CCD, FFU14F5HWB) — Atwater, OH

Reported: The customer had two separate Frigidaire appliances failing. The oven portion wasn’t heating up fast or to a higher temp, while the freezer wasn’t keeping items frozen.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the freezer was low on Freon, causing inadequate cooling performance. The oven’s control board had failed, preventing proper temperature regulation and heating cycles.

Repair: Work: Rebuilt control board on stove; addressed low Freon in freezer · Parts: Board-Repair — rebuilt control board on stove · Result: Both appliances restored to proper temperature control

Repair: Work: Diagnosed failed control module

KitchenAid dishwasher (KDTE104DSS0) — Canfield, OH

Reported: The dishwasher was not drying the dishes. The customer had been dealing with this issue and needed to figure out what was causing the poor drying performance.

Diagnosis: The dishwasher had 2 error codes related to heat issues. During our conversation, the customer recalled that the dishwasher had been run while the water was shut off to the house. This could have easily generated those error codes. These codes do not reset by themselves — you have to run the dishwasher through a diagnostic cycle to reset the error codes.

Repair: Work: Ran diagnostic cycle to reset error codes · Parts: None required · Result: Error codes cleared, dishwasher should be good to go

Whirlpool washer (WFW75HEFW0) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the same code F1 E9 kept coming up on their Whirlpool washer. This error code typically indicates a drain system fault that prevents the washer from completing its cycles properly.

Diagnosis: The F1 E9 error code on this Whirlpool model points to drain pump issues. Our inspection confirmed the drain pump had failed and was causing the recurring error message. The pump was no longer able to evacuate water from the tub effectively.

Repair: Work: Replaced the drain pump · Parts: WPW10605427 — drain pump · Result: Error code cleared and washer returned to normal operation

Whirlpool upright freezer (EVL201NXRQ00) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer called because their upright freezer was not cooling well and the alarm was sounding. They mentioned that stuff was kind of frozen, but not as it should be.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed that the defrost heater had failed. When the defrost heater goes bad in a Whirlpool freezer, ice buildup blocks proper airflow, preventing the unit from maintaining consistent temperatures and triggering the alarm system.

Repair: Work: Replaced the bad defrost heater · Parts: 8201749 — defrost heater · Result: Freezer returned to proper cooling operation with alarm cleared

Admiral dishwasher (FFID2426TS3A) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported 3 flashing lights on their Admiral dishwasher that wouldn’t start or run. They had already tried resetting the breaker with no success.

Diagnosis: The flashing light pattern indicated a door latch issue. Testing confirmed the door switch had failed, preventing the dishwasher from detecting that the door was properly closed and latched. Without this safety signal, the control board wouldn’t allow the wash cycle to begin.

Repair: Work: Replaced the door switch · Parts: 5304527418 — Latch Assembly Door · Result: Dishwasher is running and cycling correctly

Admiral dishwasher (FFID2426TD1A) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their dishwasher does not drain. This is a common issue that can leave dishes sitting in dirty water and prevent the unit from functioning properly.

Diagnosis: During our inspection, we found that the door switch had a loose connection and was not contacting properly. When the door switch fails to make secure contact, it can’t signal the dishwasher to complete its drain cycle, leaving water standing in the unit.

Repair: Work: Replaced the door switch and repaired the connectors · Parts: 5304527418 — Latch Assembly Door · Result: Dishwasher now drains properly and completes full cycles

Speed Queen Washer; dryer (Coin op washer and dryer) — Canton, OH

Reported: The tenant contacted us about laundry facilities in the building that do not work. During our initial conversation, we learned the tenant had never actually tried using the laundry equipment because it supposedly didn’t work a year ago when he moved in.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed the dryer was actually operating normally. The main issue was with the washer, which had way too much suds in it to operate correctly. We also found that both the washer and dryer needed new service door lock assemblies.

Repair: Work: Installed new service door lock assembly on washer and dryer, ran washer through several cycles to clear out excessive soap · Parts: W11315637 — Lock-Cam assembly for both washer and dryer · Result: After clearing the soap, operation returned to normal and all symptoms were resolved

Admiral Washer; dryer — Canton, OH

Reported: Both the washers and dryers needed to be checked due to money being taken from a tenant. This facility uses CSC Works machines with a card dispenser system. One of the washers had an out of order paper placed on it by a user.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, it appeared that someone had removed their clothes before the cycle finished, likely causing them to assume the machine was broken. The washer itself showed no signs of mechanical failure or operational issues.

Repair: Work: Ran the washer through a complete cycle to verify operation · Parts: None required · Result: All functions tested normal — machine operates as designed

GE refrigerator (HTS17GBSARWW) — Canton, OH

Samsung dryer — Canton, OH

Reported: The dryer would shut off after a few minutes on auto dry. On time dry, it took several cycles to dry a load of laundry.

Diagnosis: We replaced the exhaust thermistor. The vent was clear. The faulty thermistor was causing incorrect temperature readings, leading the dryer to shut down prematurely during auto cycles and run inefficiently during timed cycles.

Repair: Work: Replaced the exhaust thermistor · Parts: DE0007A — exhaust thermistor · Result: Dryer completed full auto dry cycles and dried loads properly on timed cycles

Maytag dryer (MDE16CSDYW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that it runs but wont turn the drum. The motor would start and operate normally, but the drum remained stationary during the cycle.

Diagnosis: Opening the cabinet revealed a broken drive belt. The belt had snapped, disconnecting the motor from the drum assembly. Without this critical connection, the motor runs but cannot rotate the drum to tumble the clothes.

Repair: Work: Replaced the belt · Parts: WP33002535 — V-belt · Result: Drum now rotates properly with motor operation

Samsung dryer — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported a squeaky Samsung front load dryer that worked but just started making a loud squeaking noise while running. The noise occurred throughout the cycle and was getting progressively louder.

Diagnosis: After removing the top and front panels, we found one of the support rollers had failed. These rollers support the drum as it rotates, and when they wear out or seize up, they create the characteristic squeaking sound this customer experienced.

Repair: Work: Replaced the failed support roller · Parts: DC97-16782A — Assembly Plastic (support roller) · Result: After replacing it the dryer is operating correctly

GE refrigerator (PFS22SBSBSS) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their refrigerator was not cooling properly and running at 50 degrees. This temperature indicates the cooling system wasn’t functioning effectively to maintain proper food storage conditions.

Diagnosis: The fridge evaporator was frosted up, which blocks proper airflow and cooling. All the sensors tested properly, ruling out control issues. However, we discovered the fridge had been defrosted with a blow dryer before our arrival, and this caused the back panel to become deformed. This deformation could affect the frosting issue and proper system operation. Due to the extent of the damage, we were unable to repair the fridge.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic testing of sensors and evaporator system · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Unable to repair due to panel deformation from improper defrosting

Admiral refrigerator (LFTR1814LWK) — Canton, OH

Reported: According to the tenant, the refrigerator was not running cold, and the freezer was not freezing food. The unit had stopped maintaining proper temperatures in both compartments, putting stored food at risk.

Diagnosis: The frost pattern on the evaporator showed low freon. This indicated a refrigerant leak in the sealed system, which is typically located in areas that are difficult and expensive to access and repair.

Repair: Work: System diagnosis and evaluation · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Determined repair was not economically feasible

Samsung refrigerator (RS265TDRS/XAA) — East Canton, OH

Reported: The refrigerator side was not cooling. There was a sound like a fan was going bad and now there is just a humming sound. The customer felt they had this fixed once before and the fan just needed replaced.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, the fridge was cooling fine at time of service. However, based on the symptoms described, we identified that if the issue crops up again, the likely culprits would be the evaporator fan cover assembly and the defrost sensor, along with needing a drain kit installation.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic inspection and system evaluation · Parts: No parts used during this service call · Result: Refrigerator was functioning properly at time of service with 45 day guarantee provided

Whirlpool washer (LSQ9030PQ5) — East Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Whirlpool washer was tripping the GFCI. Every time they tried to start a wash cycle, the ground fault circuit interrupter would shut off power to protect against electrical faults.

Diagnosis: We tested the electrical components and found the lid switch was creating a ground fault. When a lid switch fails internally, it can cause current to leak to ground, which triggers the GFCI’s safety mechanism. This is exactly what was happening with this LSQ9030PQ5.

Diagnosis: After examining the WTW5000DW2, we found the cold water screen was plugged and causing machine to error out on final rinse. This blocked screen prevented proper water flow during the final rinse cycle, triggering the washer’s safety protocols and causing it to restart the wash sequence instead of proceeding to spin.

Repair: Work: Cleaned plugged cold water screen · Parts: None required · Result: Machine completed full cycle including proper spin-out

Reported: The customer reported their Electrolux dryer was reading E64 and kept turning off during the dry cycle. This error code typically indicates a heating system fault that prevents the dryer from maintaining proper temperature.

Diagnosis: When soap remains undissolved and dishes come out dirty, it typically points to insufficient water circulation during the wash cycle. The circulation pump creates the pressure needed to force water through the spray arms. We also discovered the outer lint grille was warped, preventing the lint trap from seating all the way. After removing the obstruction and cleaning out accumulated lint, we ran the dryer and found it was still making noise due to the blower wheel being broken.
