Repair: Work: Repaired cracked solder joint in motor relay on back side of control board · Parts: LAB-REPAIR APPLIANCE — control board motor relay repair · Result: Dryer operates normally with no error codes
Whirlpool refrigerator (WRX735SDHZ02) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The refrigerator not dispensing ice cubes. The icemaker itself was functioning, but no ice would come out when the dispenser was activated.

Reported: The customer reported their Samsung washer was not washing thoroughly, leaking at times, and requested general service on both washing machines in their home.
Diagnosis: I found the coin trap on the wash machine was obstructed completely. This was causing a long drain scenario. The washing machine also needed re-leveling, and the power cord was a little bit loose in the upper outlet it plugged into. I did not really see evidence of water leakage during my inspection.
Repair: Work: Cleaned completely obstructed coin trap, re-leveled the washing machine, reinstalled power cord in lower outlet · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Machine is now draining properly with improved stability and secure electrical connection

Reported: The refrigerator (bottom freezer model) had been leaking water onto the floor. Last year this happened, and the customer cleared ice sheet out of bottom and the problem was resolved. This summer the customer cleared ice, but was still having the leaking problem. Ice crystals had also formed all over freezer and contents.
Diagnosis: The freezer compartment had a plugged defrost drain. When the defrost drain becomes blocked, water from the automatic defrost cycle cannot properly exit the freezer compartment, leading to water accumulation and the formation of ice crystals throughout the freezer.
Repair: Work: Cleared the plugged defrost drain in the freezer compartment · Parts: LAB-REPAIR APPLIANCE · Result: Water leakage stopped and proper drainage restored
Kenmore washer (80 Series 110.26882502) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their washer doesn’t spin out water sufficiently. Clothes were coming out soaking wet at the end of wash cycles, indicating the spin function wasn’t working properly.
Diagnosis: Testing revealed that both the clutch assembly and agitator dogs had worn out. The clutch assembly is responsible for engaging the spin basket, while the agitator dogs help move clothes during the wash and spin cycles. When these components fail, the washer can’t effectively remove water from clothing.
Repair: Work: Replaced the clutch assembly and agitator dogs · Parts: 285785 — clutch assembly, 80040 — agitator dogs · Result: Good to go

Reported: Water won’t drain. The customer had already done some troubleshooting — checked drain hose for plugs and kinks with no issues there, removed standing water, removed basket and filter, and cleaned them out. After running the cycle again, water still won’t drain.
Diagnosis: After the customer’s thorough initial checks, we focused on the drain pump itself. Upon inspection, we found the issue wasn’t in the hose or filter system, but rather an obstruction within the pump assembly that was preventing proper water evacuation.
Repair: Work: Removed a piece of plastic from the drain pump · Parts: None required · Result: Dishwasher now drains properly
Whirlpool refrigerator (GI5SVAXVL01) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the control panel was not lit up but if they pushed any of the buttons it would light up. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer compartment was working, though the unit did have power because the lights inside were working.
Diagnosis: The symptoms pointed to a faulty electronic control board. While the refrigerator was receiving power and the interior lights functioned normally, the control board wasn’t maintaining proper operation of the cooling system or display panel lighting. This type of intermittent behavior is characteristic of control board failure in Whirlpool refrigerators.
Repair: Work: Replaced control board · Parts: WPW10310240 — electronic control board · Result: Control panel now stays lit and both compartments are cooling properly
GE refrigerator (PYE23PSDCSSC) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their GE refrigerator was leaking water from freezer onto floor. Water pooling on the kitchen floor from refrigerator leaks typically points to drainage issues in the defrost system.
Diagnosis: We found the defrost drain hose was clogged, preventing meltwater from draining properly. Ice had accumulated in the freezer compartment, further blocking the drainage pathway and forcing water to overflow onto the floor.
Repair: Work: Cleaned defrost drain hose and defrosted ice out of freezer · Parts: None required · Result: Drainage system restored to proper function, water leak eliminated
Kenmore dishwasher (587.14403400) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the door won’t latch. Without a functioning latch mechanism, the dishwasher safety systems prevent the unit from operating, leaving dishes unwashed.
Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed that the door latch assembly had failed internally. The latch mechanism no longer engaged properly with the door strike, making it impossible to secure the door and activate the dishwasher’s control systems.
Repair: Work: Replaced door latch · Parts: 5304460923 — door latch assembly · Result: Door now latches securely and dishwasher operates normally
Samsung dryer (Dv45H7000EW/A2) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their Samsung dryer was making loud noises as it spins. This type of noise typically indicates worn drum support components that can no longer properly stabilize the drum during operation.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the right, rear support roller had failed. This roller is critical for smooth drum rotation, and when it fails, the drum becomes unstable and creates the loud spinning noise the customer experienced.
Repair: Work: Repaired the dryer using the kit which includes the 4 support rollers, belt and tension pulley. Also replaced the heat element while it was apart. · Parts: DESAMKIT-DRYER REPAIR KIT, DC97-14486A-ASSEMBLY DUCT HEATER · Result: Dryer now operates quietly with proper drum support and heating function restored.
Samsung washer (WF45K6500A) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported a 5C code appearing even after cleaning pump filter. This error code indicates a drain problem, but the typical first step of cleaning the filter hadn’t resolved the issue.
Diagnosis: The drain pump had a wad of hair wrapped around it. This kept it from spinning and pumping the water out. The blockage was deeper than what the customer could reach by just cleaning the accessible filter.
Repair: Work: Reached through the filter neck and cleared the hair blockage with a wire and pair of pliers · Parts: None required · Result: Drain pump restored to normal operation, 5C error cleared
Admiral oven/stove (don’t know) — Canton, OH
Reported: The gas pilot would not stay lit on the left side of the stove. This was a very old Admiral range from the late 1950s that had accumulated years of cooking residue around the pilot assembly.
Diagnosis: On this vintage gas range, the pilot lights are the ignition source for the burners. Over decades of use, grease and debris had built up around the pilot orifices, preventing proper gas flow and flame stability. The age of the stove meant original factory tolerances had shifted, making proper pilot adjustment critical.
Repair: Work: Cleaned the pilot lights on the range burners · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Pilot lights now function properly on both sides
LG dishwasher (Ld5678st) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their dishwasher won’t fill with water. They had already attempted repairs by cleaning the float out and replacing the water inlet valve, and installed new supply lines as well.
Diagnosis: Upon arrival, I found the dishwasher was filling, washing, and draining correctly. The customer’s previous repair work had resolved the issue, but they wanted professional verification that everything was functioning properly.
Repair: Work: Monitored dishwasher operation through complete cycle · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Dishwasher is filling, washing, and draining correctly
Frigidaire refrigerator (FFHS2322MBHA) — Canton, OH
Reported: The refrigerator does not stay cold and the freezer seems almost too cold even on the lowest setting. The customer tried adjusting the temperature settings and unplugging it to reset it and that did not seem to work.
Diagnosis: The defrost drain appeared to be obstructed. There was a big block of ice in the bottom of the evaporator section of the freezer compartment. This in turn kept the refrigerator from getting the air movement that would be necessary to keep the food cold.
Repair: Work: Cleared drain and repositioned drain pan so it would not hold water and create ice. Successfully cleared the cavity and the drain. · Parts: No parts required · Result: Operation should be good
Kenmore dryer (110.66652501) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their dryer was not heating. Everything else seemed to work fine, but it just wasn’t heating anymore.
Diagnosis: The high limit thermal fuse had failed. This safety component cuts power to the heating element when the dryer overheats, which typically happens when airflow is restricted or the vent system is compromised.
Repair: Work: Replaced the failed high limit thermal fuse with the overload kit and installed a new heat element while the unit was apart · Parts: 279816 thermal cutoff and 279838 heating element · Result: Dryer restored to full heating operation

Reported: The customer reported that the washer was seeming to take longer than normal to sense weight. Additionally, it doesn’t seem to be spinning properly when getting excess water out of clothing.
Diagnosis: After testing the unit’s cycles and examining the internal components, we identified a bad transmission. The transmission is responsible for controlling the wash basket’s agitation and spin functions, which explained both the sensing delays and poor spin performance.
Repair: Work: Transmission replacement · Parts: Transmission assembly · Result: Washer operates normally with proper sensing and spin cycles
Maytag washer (MVWX550XW0) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer called because their washer won’t spin and leaks. It just seems to get stuck on sensing forever and never spins.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the drum support on the washer was broken/bent. This structural damage was the root cause of the belt failure and the performance issues the customer was experiencing with their Samsung washer.
Repair: Work: Diagnosis and assessment · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Customer is replacing the washer
Maytag dryer (SDG4606AWW) — East Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their Maytag dryer was not heating. The unit would run through its cycle, but clothes came out still damp because no heat was being generated during the drying process.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the high limit thermostat had blown. This safety device protects the dryer from overheating, but when it fails, it cuts off all heat to prevent potential damage or safety hazards.
Repair: Work: Replaced the high limit thermostat, support rollers, idler pulley, belt and coil valve packs · Parts: 489P3 thermostat plate kit, RB170002 roller kit, D516792 idler lever assembly, WP40111201 belt, 279834 coil valve packs · Result: Vent tests showed good air flow and the dryer restored to full heating operation
