Whirlpool washer (WTW8000BW0) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their washer was making loud knocking noise during cycles and it was extremely loud during spin and drain. These symptoms typically indicate bearing failure, where the drum can no longer rotate smoothly within the tub assembly.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we confirmed the bearings had failed completely. When washer bearings deteriorate, they create increasingly loud noises as metal components grind against each other without proper lubrication and support.

Repair: Work: Replaced the bearings on the washer · Parts: W10435302 — bearing assembly · Result: Issue is resolved

Samsung Washer; dryer (Dv45h7000ewa2) — Alliance, OH

When they turned it on, lights came on but it wouldn’t start. They changed cycles to see if that was the issue but it still didn’t start.

Diagnosis: We found the idler pulley had failed. The heat element looked good, but the exhaust vent was moderately plugged and needed cleaning. The plastic venting was not up to code and posed a fire hazard as currently routed.

Repair: Work: Replaced the idler pulley · Parts: DC93-00634A — idler pulley · Result: Dryer restored to full operation

Samsung dryer (DV40J3000E(G) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dryer runs but won’t spin. The motor would start and operate normally, but the drum remained stationary, preventing clothes from tumbling and drying properly.

Diagnosis: The idler pulley had broken. This small but critical component maintains proper tension on the drive belt that turns the drum. When it fails, the belt loses tension and can no longer transfer power from the motor to the drum assembly.

Repair: Work: Replaced the broken idler pulley · Parts: DC93-00634A — idler pulley · Result: The dryer is operating correctly

LG washer (WM2487HRMA) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer stopped mid cycle, with water lying in the bottom of the machine. Won’t restart, won’t run a spin cycle.

Maytag dishwasher (WU701) — Atwater, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the dishwasher runs but doesn’t drain. They suspected that the drain pump was smoked.

Repair: Work: Customer will replace the belt · Parts: 6-9021150-BELT · Result: Belt replacement will restore proper drainage function

Admiral refrigerator (FFHS2311PFFA) — Beloit, OH

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the dishwasher circulation had failed. Given the age of the unit and the nature of the failure, this was clearly a manufacturing defect rather than normal wear.

Reported: The customer reported their LG dryer just blows cold air. The unit was running through cycles but producing no heat, leaving clothes damp after full dry cycles.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the heat element assembly had burned out completely. Additionally, the dryer vent was quite obstructed with accumulated lint, which likely contributed to the heating element failure by causing the system to overheat and cycle off prematurely.

Repair: Work: Replaced the heat element assembly and gasket on the front of the drum, cleaned and brushed the vent system · Parts: 5301EL1001S heater assembly, 4036EL3001A gasket, 6931EL3001F thermostat · Result: Dryer is good to go with proper heating restored

Diagnosis: The combination of noise, bouncing, and mid-cycle shutoffs pointed to mechanical failure in the washer’s drive system and suspension. When the transmission starts failing, it creates noise and can cause the control board to shut down the cycle for protection. Failed suspension rods allow excessive movement during the spin cycle, causing the bouncing behavior.

Repair: Work: Replaced the transmission and suspension rods · Parts: W11454741 — Gearcase (transmission), W10780048 — Suspension rods · Result: Machine successfully passed auto test without generating any errors

The newest issue was that the washer thinks the door is not locked based on the lights that are blinking.

Diagnosis: The machine displayed error code E48, which means the console control board thinks the door PTC circuit is closed. The customer tried cleaning out the drain area in the bottom of the machine and resetting the breaker, but the same problem occurred when trying to run the machine afterward. When the machine seemed to be running, some amount of water was draining because the drain hose under the sink would be warm to the touch with water running through it and the kitchen sink making gurgle sounds.

Diagnosis: We identified a failed case break assembly. This is a common issue with this Samsung model. The case break assembly monitors water flow and drainage, and when it fails, the dishwasher prematurely terminates the cycle with the flashing light pattern the customer described.
