Repairs completed the week of February 16, 2026 across Akron, Alliance, Bolivar, Brewster, Canal Fulton, Canton and more.

LG dryer (DLE1501W) — Akron, OH

Reported: The dryer was displaying a Flow Sense light (d80) error after test and would not heat. The customer had already verified that the duct tube and vents were clear, but the error persisted.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed that the thermal fuse in the heat element had failed. This safety component prevents overheating by cutting power to the heating element when temperatures exceed safe limits.

Repair: Work: Replaced the failed thermal fuse in the heat element · Parts: 6931EL3003D — thermostat · Result: The dryer is cycling normally

GE washer (GFW850SPN5RS) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported their GE washer was non-responsive with lid lock failure and leaking underneath. The unit wouldn’t start any cycles and water was pooling on the floor.

Diagnosis: Our inspection found extensive failures throughout the washer’s control and mechanical systems. The unit needed main board, inverter, main harness, lid lock, drain pump, and vent damper replacement. We prioritized the main board and door lock as the primary issues preventing operation.

Repair: Work: Replaced main board and door lock · Parts: WH22X37840 — Board, WH01X29528 — Lock · Result: Good to go

Maytag refrigerator (MFI2269VEM3) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that front panel lights started blinking on and off slowly and noticed a sound like water fall, probably the compressor starting up and then stopping with each blink. The internal light still worked and the refrigerator was still cold, but it appeared something serious had happened.

Diagnosis: The symptoms pointed directly to control board failure. The blinking lights synchronized with compressor cycling indicated multiple capacitors had failed on the main control board. While the refrigerator maintained cooling temporarily, the erratic electrical behavior would soon lead to complete system failure.

Repair: Work: Replaced 8 capacitors and one relay on the board · Parts: Board-Rebuild, LAB-REPAIR APPLIANCE · Result: Fridge is operating correctly

Kenmore washer (110.47512600) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The front load washer quit draining completely. Water remained standing in the drum after wash cycles. The homeowners had already inspected the coin trap but found no blockage there.

Diagnosis: After evacuating the standing water from the drum, we disassembled the machine to access the drain system. The drain pump assembly had failed and was no longer able to remove water from the washer during the drain cycle.

Repair: Work: Disassembled machine, installed new drain pump assembly, reassembled unit · Parts: WPW10730972 — drain pump assembly · Result: Tested the wash machine – it’s filling, tumbling, draining and spinning properly

Amana oven/stove (AGR5715QDW) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The oven was not maintaining a flame and kept flashing off and on. It seemed like the gas was not consistently flowing correctly. Sometimes this happened to the burners but not nearly as much.

Diagnosis: The intermittent flame and inconsistent gas flow pointed to a faulty oven igniter. When the igniter weakens, it can’t consistently generate enough heat to properly open the gas valve, causing the erratic flame behavior the customer experienced.

Repair: Work: Replaced oven igniter · Parts: WP7432P136-60 — oven igniter · Result: Oven is heating fine, reaching 350°F in 7 minutes

Frigidaire stove (FGF354BGWA) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that several burners weren’t lighting and the oven wouldn’t work. This left them with limited cooking options and an essentially non-functional stove.

Diagnosis: Both front burners weren’t working, and the oven igniter glows but won’t ignite. We found that the right front burner just needed cleaning, while the left front burner needs an igniter electrode. The oven’s igniter was glowing but failing to generate enough heat to ignite the gas.

Repair: Work: Cleaned right front burner, installed new oven igniter · Parts: 5303935066 — Ignitor oven kit with nut · Result: Right front burner works now, oven ignites properly

Whirlpool washer (RTW4516FW2) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their Whirlpool washer will not drain. This left clothes sitting in standing water at the end of wash cycles.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed failures in the water inlet valve and water pump. The inlet valve was allowing continuous water flow even when closed, while the drain pump had lost the ability to effectively remove water from the tub.

Repair: Work: Removed and replaced both the faulty inlet valve and drain pump assembly · Parts: W11210463 water inlet valve, W10919003 water pump · Result: Washer now completes full drain cycles properly with no standing water

Samsung dryer (DVE50R5400VIA3. SERIAL. 0AYL5BAM502265J) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Samsung dryer was not heating. This is a common complaint that can stem from several components in the heating system.

Diagnosis: We took apart and checked element and thermostats all checked good and is heating. Sometimes what appears to be a heating failure can be resolved through proper inspection and testing of the existing components.

Repair: Work: Took apart and checked element and thermostats · Parts: No parts were needed · Result: All components checked good and the dryer is heating

Whirlpool refrigerator (ED2SHAXMQ10) — Bolivar, OH

Reported: The customer reported their approximately 15-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator was no longer producing ice. The ice maker had stopped functioning entirely.

Diagnosis: After examining the ED2SHAXMQ10 model, we determined the ice maker assembly had failed and required replacement to restore ice production.

Repair: Work: Replaced the ice maker · Parts: WPW10190961 — ice maker assembly · Result: Issue is resolved and operation is normal

LG washer — Brewster, OH

Reported: The customer reported that an LE code comes up and the washer won’t cycle. This error code typically indicates a motor or drum issue that prevents normal operation.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that bearings have failed on washing machine and it is not economical to repair. The extent of the bearing failure meant extensive disassembly and parts replacement would be required.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation of bearing failure · Parts: None — repair deemed uneconomical · Result: We recommend replacing the washer rather than proceeding with repair

JennAir oven/stove (JJW9630DDB) — Canal Fulton, OH

Reported: The top oven with convection was slow to heat and wouldn’t get hotter than 300 degrees. The customer also requested calibration of the bottom oven unit.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the control board was bad. This electronic component manages temperature regulation and heating cycles for both oven cavities.

Repair: Work: Replaced the faulty control board · Parts: WPW10169131 — electronic control board · Result: Oven reached 350 degrees in 13 minutes and is working properly

GE washer (WBVH5200J2WW) — Canal Fulton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that in wash mode, the washer would start to fill with water then pump out water and shut off while the time counted down. In drain and spin mode, it would drain but not spin. When draining, the pump ran longer than usual.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the washer needed a new motor — the speed sensor was bad. This explained both the premature water evacuation during wash cycles and the failure to spin after draining, as the control board couldn’t properly monitor motor speed.

Samsung washer (Wf45m5500a) — Canal Fulton, OH

Reported: The washer displayed a 3C error code and wouldn’t start its cycle properly. When the customer started a cycle, they could hear the pump run, then as it started to draw water, it would try for a second 3-4 times then stop. The water supply was good, screens were clean, and the drain filter was clean.

Diagnosis: After testing the electrical systems, it appears that the wiring harness has a break in it. This type of wiring failure can affect multiple machine functions and often indicates broader electrical issues within the unit.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic testing revealed wiring harness failure · Parts: None · Result: Due to the price of a new harness and potentially more problems, recommended replacing the unit with a more reliable model

Tappan Range/cooktop; dishwasher — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer contacted us about two separate issues: a back burner not working on their Tappan stove and a leaking hose on their dishwasher. Both appliances were experiencing problems that needed immediate attention.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the stove actually checks fine – the back burner issue was not present during our service visit. However, the dishwasher showed clear signs of leaking through the wash pump. This type of internal pump failure typically indicates the unit should probably be replaced rather than repaired.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation of both appliances · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Stove found to be functioning properly; dishwasher diagnosed with wash pump failure

Maytag refrigerator (MBF1958FEZ01) — Canton, OH

Reported: The ice maker isn’t working. The customer has two identical refrigerators, but only one water line. Last week the ice maker stopped making ice in the one fridge that has the water line hooked up to it. They switched the water line to the other fridge that has an ice maker that has never been used, flipped the arm down, and nothing happened. They waited overnight and still nothing. The next day they double checked the water line by unhooking it and then turning it back on to verify water was coming out correctly, and it was.

Diagnosis: The freezer door was warped where it engaged the door switch. This prevented the door switch from sending power to the icemaker. Without power from the door switch, the ice maker control couldn’t initiate the ice-making cycle, regardless of which refrigerator had the water line connected.

Repair: Work: Swapped the door with the door from the other fridge · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Ice maker received proper power and resumed normal operation

LG washer (Wm2140cw) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer was leaking water. Water leaks in washers can come from multiple sources, so diagnosis was needed to pinpoint the exact cause.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the cold water valve was leaking. The valve had failed and was allowing water to escape during operation.

Repair: Work: Replaced the faulty cold water valve · Parts: 5220FR2075L-VALVE — cold water valve · Result: The unit is operating correctly with no leaks

GE washer (GFW550SSN5WW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer contacted us about an H2O supply issue with their GE washer. The machine wasn’t filling with water as it should during the wash cycle.

Diagnosis: We found an error code for the cold valve during our diagnostic. Testing showed the cold water valve had continuity, meaning the valve itself was functional. However, the main board was not sending power to operate the valve.

Repair: Work: Replaced control board · Parts: WH22X38697 — Board · Result: Good to go

Maytag refrigerator (MFI2269VEM2) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Maytag refrigerator’s ice maker quit making ice. The unit was getting power but wasn’t producing any ice at all.

Diagnosis: We found 120 volts reaching the ice maker and the thermostat was closed as expected. However, the ice maker gear was stripped and unable to cycle through its harvest sequence. The water valve tested good, confirming the issue was isolated to the ice maker assembly itself.

Repair: Work: Replaced ice maker and water filter. Cleared air from system via water dispenser. · Parts: WPW10190981 — ICEMAKER, EDR4RXD1 — FILTER · Result: Ice maker cycled and filled. Good to go.

GE range (RB757BH5CT) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer called after cooking today when their front burner didn’t work. The burner had been functioning normally but suddenly stopped heating during or after use.

Diagnosis: Our inspection found that the FR burner socket is broken. This component connects the burner element to the range’s electrical system, and when it fails, the burner won’t receive power to heat properly.

Maytag range (MER6775AAW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that in the top oven the lower heating element does not work. They had bought a replacement element and installed it, but saw no change in performance.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed that the bake element itself was actually good. The main board upper bake circuit had failed, which meant no power was reaching the element. This explained why replacing the element didn’t solve the problem.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed main board upper bake circuit failure · Parts: None required for diagnostic · Result: Confirmed no power to element due to board failure

Samsung dryer (DVE50R5200W/A3) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Samsung dryer won’t heat up but runs well otherwise. The drum was turning, the controls responded normally, but clothes came out just as wet as they went in.

Diagnosis: Testing the heating element revealed it was open — completely burned out with no electrical continuity. This is a common failure point on Samsung dryers, especially on models that see heavy use. When the heater insert fails, the dryer operates normally except no heat is generated.

Repair: Work: Replaced heater insert · Parts: DC47-00019A — Heater insert · Result: Good to go

Whirlpool refrigerator (ED5VHEXVQ01) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their refrigerator not cooling properly with the top of freezer warm, bottom still cold, and refrigerator compartment warm. The compressor was humming and warm (not excessively hot) with the condenser fan running, and ice buildup was visible under evaporator area in a waterfall pattern, frozen in place. No water was leaking onto the floor.

Diagnosis: We found no airflow to the refrigerator compartment. The freezer compartment was missing the shield over evaporator coils, and a box of food had slipped in and fallen over the fan, blocking proper air circulation through the system.

Repair: Work: Removed food box blocking evaporator fan, showed customer how to clear the drain and possibly fabricate a shield over the evaporator coil · Parts: No parts replaced · Result: Restored proper airflow to refrigerator compartment

Samsung dryer (DVG45T3400W/A3) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported lint buildup and a weird/burning smell from back of dryer. They wanted venting, hookups, and installation checked due to safety concerns with the lint and odor combination.

Diagnosis: The dryer definitely had a lint fire. It looks like a flash over fire in the lint inside the dryer. This type of fire typically occurs when excessive lint accumulation meets high heat, creating a dangerous flash combustion inside the drum area.

Repair: Work: Cleaned all the lint from the inside of the dryer and screen housing · Parts: None required · Result: Dryer is heating and tumbling normally

Samsung dryer (DVE45B6300P) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their dryer powers on but the drum does not spin or rotate. The unit would start and run, but clothes weren’t tumbling at all.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the belt is no longer fastened. The drive belt had come off the drum and motor pulley, which is why the drum wasn’t turning even though the motor was running.

Repair: Work: Will need to move fridge out to get dryer out to repair. Reinstalled belt. · Parts: No parts replaced · Result: Good to go.

GE refrigerator (TBX22MACBRWW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that her refrigerator had a freezer that stayed cold but the bottom section wasn’t cooling. She knew from a previous repair that this was likely the evaporator fan motor failing again, as it had been replaced around 1.5–2 years ago, possibly with a generic or used part.

Diagnosis: Our inspection confirmed the customer’s suspicion. The evaporator fan motor had failed, preventing proper air circulation between the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Without this fan running, cold air stays trapped in the freezer while the fresh food section warms up.

Repair: Work: Replaced fan motor · Parts: WR60X30349 — Evap fan motor · Result: Good to go

GE washer (GTW385ASWWS) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their GE washer was making loud screeching noise during operation.

Reported: The customer reported a leaky front loading washer, specifying it wasn’t the hoses. They mentioned the machine had drainage issues and they were out of town and couldn’t examine it themselves.

Diagnosis: Front leaking due to build up between the door and the seal. Machine wasn’t draining well so we cleaned out the trap. The poor drainage was contributing to the leak issue at the door seal area.

Repair: Work: Replaced hoses and cleaned out the drain trap · Parts: CAMFF52PK-5 FT RUBBER W/M HOSE 2PK — rubber washing machine hoses · Result: Leaking has stopped

Admiral washer (GTWN4950LOWS) — Canton, OH

Reported: When the washer gets to the wash cycle it starts to make a terrible scraping around. The homeowners couldn’t get the front panel off to see if there was something scraping the drum.

Diagnosis: The washer was sitting on blocks which caused the pulley to hit the floor during operation. This created the scraping noise the customer was hearing during the wash cycle.

Repair: Work: Removed blocks from under the washer · Parts: None required · Result: Problem appears to be resolved

Samsung dishwasher (DW80F600UTS) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that when using the dishwasher, it only ever fills up with water and never goes to the cycle where it would actually clean the dishes. They were getting an error message saying that there was too much water.

Diagnosis: Upon arrival, the machine was washing at time of service. This suggested the issue might be related to buildup or debris affecting the unit’s ability to properly cycle through its wash programs rather than a failed sensor.

Repair: Work: Put several Afresh tabs in the unit and ran a cleaning cycle · Parts: No parts used · Result: Machine advanced into the cleaning cycle properly

Admiral oven/stove (FEFL67HCB) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their oven controls seem to work, but the oven doesn’t heat. The unit appeared to respond to temperature settings, but no actual heating occurred when attempting to use the oven.
