Reported: The customer reported that after each wash cycle completed, the lid latch would remain engaged and wouldn’t release. This prevented starting any new loads, and the washer was displaying an F9 error code. They had already invested in replacing both the lid latch mechanism and the main electronic control board, but the problem persisted.

Diagnosis: The F9 code on this GE model indicates Lid Switch Redundancy — meaning the washer’s control system detected conflicting signals from the lid safety switches. When we tested the lid assembly, we found the reed switch was internally shorted. This small magnetic switch is what tells the control board whether the lid is truly closed and latched. With it shorted, the control system couldn’t get a reliable reading and locked out the washer as a safety precaution.

Repair: Work: Removed lid assembly, replaced faulty reed switch, tested all lid safety functions · Parts: WH19X27244 — Reed switch · Result: F9 code cleared, lid latch cycles properly, washer starts and completes cycles normally

Reported: The customer reported: I did empty them so I don’t believe it’s that. they were full and now that slide is stuck. I’m thinking it might be a coin stuck in there, but I don’t know for sure.

Diagnosis: We confirmed the coin slide was jammed solid. The customer’s instinct was correct — something was blocking the mechanism and preventing normal operation.

Repair: Work: Coin slide was jammed, cleared jam, tested multiple times. Unit is operating and heating. Refastened vent pipe where it goes through wall. · Parts: No parts replaced · Result: Good to go.

Bosch dishwasher (SHP65TL5UC/02) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Bosch dishwasher was displaying an E15 error code and wouldn’t run a cycle. This error specifically indicates the dishwasher’s leak detection system has been activated. The unit was completely shut down as a safety measure to prevent water damage to the kitchen floor or cabinets.

Diagnosis: After removing the lower access panel, we found water pooled in the base pan — exactly what triggers the E15 error. The source was a failed diverter (part 00751950), which had developed a crack allowing water to escape during the wash cycle. Bosch dishwashers have sensitive leak detection, so even a small diverter leak will shut down the entire system until repaired.

Repair: Work: Removed old diverter, installed new unit, cleared error code, tested all spray functions · Parts: 00751950 — Diverter · Result: No leaks detected, E15 error cleared, normal wash cycle completed

Reported: The customer reported that their washer starts but will not actuate, with suspected lid lock issues and water stuck in the tub. The machine would power on but wouldn’t proceed through the wash cycle.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed that the lid switch had failed completely. This safety component must signal that the lid is properly closed before the washer will agitate or spin. When it fails, the machine recognizes the lid as open even when it’s securely latched, preventing normal operation and leaving water trapped in the tub.

Diagnosis: Testing the washer’s operation confirmed the random stopping behavior. The timer assembly was the root cause — when a washer timer fails, it loses the ability to properly sequence through wash, rinse, and spin cycles, resulting in the erratic stopping pattern this customer experienced.

Reported: The customer reported that their #21 triple load washer coin light was out and the washer wouldn’t work. This is a common symptom when the door lock mechanism fails on commercial laundry equipment.

Diagnosis: During our initial service call, we diagnosed the washing machine and found that the wax motor actuator on the door lock assembly had failed. This component is critical for proper machine operation as it ensures the door is securely locked before the wash cycle can begin.
