Repairs completed the week of May 19, 2025 across Akron, Alliance, Amsterdam, Canton, Carrollton, Clinton and more.
Maytag dryer (Ldg9806aae) — Akron, OH
Reported: The customer reported no heat from their Maytag dryer. They had already replaced the thermal fuse and coil valves in an attempt to fix the issue, but the dryer still wouldn’t heat.
Diagnosis: The ignitor had 120v to it but wasn’t glowing. In gas dryers, the ignitor must glow hot enough to open the gas valve and ignite the burner. When the ignitor fails internally, it can still receive voltage but won’t heat up properly.
Repair: Work: Replaced the faulty ignitor · Parts: 279311 — ignitor · Result: Issue is resolved and operation is normal
Frigidaire refrigerator (FRT1856ABY) — Akron, OH
Reported: The customer called because their fridge was no longer staying cold. Temperature control had been lost, indicating a potential issue with the cooling or defrost system.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the fridge defrost timer had failed and was no longer initiating a manual defrost. When defrost cycles don’t occur properly, ice buildup on the evaporator coils blocks airflow and prevents the refrigerator from maintaining cold temperatures.
Repair: Work: Replaced the failed defrost timer · Parts: 215846602 — Defrost Timer 60 HZ 120V · Result: The issue is resolved and proper defrost cycling restored
Samsung washer (WF42H56OOAP/A2) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The water won’t drain. The customer reported water remaining in the washer drum after cycles completed, making it impossible to remove clothes without them dripping wet.
Diagnosis: We accessed the drain filter assembly and found it severely obstructed with lint, debris, and small items that had worked their way through the wash cycles. This blockage prevented the drain pump from evacuating water properly.
Repair: Work: Cleared the obstructed drain filter and showed customer how to do the same · Parts: None required · Result: Washer now drains completely, customer educated on maintenance
Kenmore washer (Front load 110.47512600) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The customer reported their Kenmore washer wont drain or spin. The door remained locked after the wash cycle, trapping clothes inside with standing water.
Diagnosis: The coin trap on the bottom of the wash machine was plugged up. This prevented the wash machine from draining. The door was locked and it would not spin until it would be able to drain all the way out.
Repair: Work: Cleared the obstruction from the coin trap · Parts: No parts needed · Result: The wash machine is operating correctly
Amana dryer (ned4655ew1) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The customer reported their Amana dryer won’t turn on. They had already attempted basic troubleshooting by unplugging and plugging the unit back in and resetting the dryer breaker.
Diagnosis: Upon arrival for the May 21, 2020 service call, we could not replicate the problem at the time of service. The dryer was functioning normally during our inspection.
Repair: Work: Diagnostic service call · Parts: No parts used · Result: Could not replicate the reported issue
Maytag washer (MVWC415EW1) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their washer fails to complete spin cycle, leaving the clothes still very wet. They also noted some clunking noise as well during operation.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the hub is stripped and it appears the transmission is on its way out. This combination of failing components explains both the incomplete spin cycle and the clunking noise the customer was experiencing.
Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation completed · Parts: No parts installed · Result: Customer informed of findings — will consult husband and get back with us
Samsung washer (VRT) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their washer won’t spin water out. It will start to do it then start beeping and flashing the letters DC on the display and then recycle and start filling with water again. The DC code says unbalanced load but they tried moving everything around and nothing works.
Diagnosis: This Samsung VRT model was part of a recall issued several years ago due to suspension system failures. The suspension rods on these units are prone to breaking down, causing the persistent unbalanced load errors even when the load is properly distributed. Replacing the suspension rods sometimes takes care of the problem but not consistently.
Repair: Work: Diagnosed recalled model with suspension system issues · Parts: No parts used · Result: Due to the cost of parts and the age of the machine (7 years), the customer opted to replace the unit
GE refrigerator — Amsterdam, OH
Reported: The customer reported leaking water in freezer. Water accumulation in the freezer compartment typically indicates drainage issues with the automatic defrost system.
Diagnosis: Inspection revealed a plugged defrost drain on freezer that was preventing proper water drainage. Additionally, the heat probe was hooked over the evaporator tube instead of being properly positioned on the heat element, which could affect defrost cycle timing.
Repair: Work: Cleared plugged defrost drain on freezer and placed the heat probe onto the heat element · Parts: None required · Result: Water drainage restored and defrost sensor properly positioned
Frigidaire dishwasher — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their Frigidaire dishwasher does not heat up and does not dry. They were not sure why the dishwasher had stopped performing these essential functions.
Diagnosis: Testing revealed that the dishwasher has a bad control board. The control board manages the heating element and drying cycle functions, so when it fails, the dishwasher cannot properly heat water or complete the drying process.
Repair: Work: Replaced the faulty control board · Parts: 5304502611 — control board · Result: Dishwasher now heats properly and completes full drying cycle
Maytag Washer; dryer (MDE16CSAYW) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that one of the dryers will run without putting money in it and the washer won’t take money. This meant lost revenue from the free-running dryer and no income from the non-functioning washer.
Diagnosis: On the Maytag dryer, we found a failed timer that was allowing the unit to operate without proper coin validation. The Huebsch washer had a defective coin funnel that prevented proper coin acceptance and needed timer adjustment to restore normal operation.
Repair: Work: Installed new timer on Maytag dryer, installed coin funnel and adjusted timer on Huebsch washer · Parts: WP33001275 torsion timer (Maytag dryer), 523P3 coin funnel kit (Huebsch washer) · Result: Both units now properly accept coins before operating
LG washer (WT1101CW) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their LG washer was showing a UE error code. This error typically indicates an unbalanced load issue, but when the problem persists regardless of load size or distribution, it often points to a control board malfunction.
Diagnosis: After testing the washer’s operation and checking for mechanical issues, we determined the main control board was faulty. The UE error was being triggered incorrectly due to failed communication between the control board and the washer’s sensors, not an actual unbalanced load condition.
Repair: Work: Replaced main control board · Parts: EBR76262102 — PCB assembly main control board · Result: Washer operates normally without error codes
Whirlpool dryer (ULTIMATE CARE II MAYTAG MEDC555DW1) — Canton, OH
Reported: On timed dry, clothes had a mild burnt smell. Then, cutoff thermostat tripped. Now there is no heat. A replacement thermostat allows it to heat up too much regardless of heat setting. The customer had turned it off before burning out the thermostat again. Vents are not clogged. Motor runs and can air dry, but replacing the thermostats doesn’t fix the cause.
Diagnosis: The cycling thermostat and high limit thermostat had both failed. When thermal control components malfunction in sequence like this, it indicates the dryer’s heating system was running beyond safe temperature ranges. The burnt smell was an early warning that the thermostats were being overtaxed before they eventually tripped to protect the heating element.
Repair: Work: Replaced the cycling thermostat and high limit thermostat · Parts: 279816 — cutoff thermal limiter · Result: Dryer now maintains proper heat levels across all settings without overheating
Whirlpool dishwasher (WDF520PADM7) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that water is not spraying the top rack. Dishes are not getting clean.
Diagnosis: We found trash accumulated in the circulation pump, preventing proper water flow to the upper spray arm assembly.
Repair: Work: Cleaned trash out of circulation pump · Parts: None — cleaning service performed · Result: Unit is washing properly with restored water spray to top rack
LG dryer (DLEY1201V) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer contacted us because their LG dryer was making loud noise during operation. The rattling sound had developed over time and was becoming increasingly disruptive.
Diagnosis: The dryer had been run without a lint filter. The duct and fan was plugged up causing it to make an out of balance rattle from the fan. The accumulated lint created a blockage that prevented proper airflow and caused the fan to operate under stress.
Repair: Work: Cleared the lint out of the duct and fan assembly · Parts: 5231EL1001C — Lint Filter · Result: Unit is operating correctly with proper airflow restored
GE refrigerator (cye22tshdss) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the screen and control panel on door was frozen, and they couldn’t get water or ice. This happened right after they had replaced the water filter themselves.
Diagnosis: After the customer replaced the water filter, it wouldn’t resume operation. This particular model must use a genuine GE water filter — the filter has a chip in it and the fridge won’t recognize a generic one. Without the genuine filter it just won’t resume operation.
Repair: Work: Unplugged the fridge and reset the system · Parts: None required · Result: Fridge is operating normally
Kenmore range/cooktop (790.94152312) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the front left burner was sticking on. This meant the burner would continue heating even when turned to the off position, creating both a safety concern and potential energy waste.
Diagnosis: We found the inside left hand burner switch had failed internally. These infinite switches control the heat cycling for electric burner elements, and when they stick in the on position, the burner won’t respond to the control knob turning it off.
Repair: Work: Replaced the inside left hand burner switch · Parts: 316436001 — infinite switch (large burner) · Result: Issue is resolved — burner now responds properly to control settings
Thermador microwave — Canton, OH
Reported: The microwave was displaying original symptoms again following our earlier repair work. The unit had returned to the same operating issues that brought us out initially.

Reported: The customer reported their washer pauses numerous times during cycle, occasionally says E3, but they were unable to resolve the error. Their dryer was also not drying clothes.
Diagnosis: On the washer, we tested the harness and hall sensor, which both checked out good. The main control board was identified as the likely culprit for the pausing and E3 error issues. For the dryer, the heating element had failed and needed replacement.
Repair: Work: Replaced the main board on washer, replaced heat element on dryer · Parts: DC92-01803C main PCB assembly (washer), DC97-14486A assembly duct heater (dryer) · Result: Dryer repair successful — good to go. Washer repair was unsuccessful and we issued a refund for that portion

Diagnosis: We scheduled the service call and thoroughly investigated the unit on May 22, 2020. Despite our detailed inspection and disassembly of the range top components, we were unable to locate the leak source that the gas company had identified.

Diagnosis: Our diagnostic revealed error codes F2E1, F5E1, and F7E1. The transmission and shift actuator have failed on the wash machine.
Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Due to the cost of the parts, the customer is going to replace the unit
Admiral Washer; dryer (DLSR40EG0WW) — Carrollton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their dryer leaves black marks on clothes, loud squeaks, and is noisy during operation.
Diagnosis: The bearing assembly had worn out, causing the drum to rub against internal components. This created the black residue transferring to clothes and generated the loud squeaking sounds during the drying cycle.
Repair: Work: Replaced the bearing assembly on the dryer, which includes the belt and felt seal · Parts: WE49X20697 — dryer bearing assembly · Result: Dryer now operates quietly without marking clothes
Kenmore washer (110.28102310) — Carrollton, OH
Reported: The washer would not spin at end of cycle. The cycle was almost done and it just stopped. When the customer tried to restart, it made a grinding sound.
Diagnosis: The impeller had broken off the drain pump, preventing it from draining. But the bearings also were failing, so both components needed replacement to restore proper operation.
Repair: Work: Replaced the drain pump and the washing machine drum bearings · Parts: WPW10409079-PUMP-WATER, W10435302-BEARING · Result: Issue resolved

Repair: Work: Installed new rollers and shaft kit, new belt, new rear felt seal · Parts: WP31001747 seal assembly, 341241 belt, LA-1008 roller kit · Result: Tumbler now runs smoothly and quietly with proper alignment
Whirlpool dryer (WED8900BC0) — East Sparta, OH
Reported: The customer reported their Whirlpool dryer was making an awful squeaky noise when turned on. They suspected the belt was the culprit based on the sound and timing of when it occurred during operation.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we confirmed the belt was indeed the source of the squeaking noise. However, we also discovered that the support rollers and idler pulley showed significant wear and needed replacement to prevent premature failure of the new belt.

Diagnosis: The washer that was tripping the breaker was draining too slow — the drain line in back was plugged. When it doesn’t drain properly, it pulls too many amps in the spin cycle. The unit was taking 45-50 seconds to drain when it should drain in 15-20 seconds.
Repair: Work: Installed drain pump, replaced the drain lines on the last three Dexters in the back, cleared obstruction from plugged drain line · Parts: RB150003-KIT BELT PUMP MODEL M/N — drain pump installation · Result: After clearing obstruction, it drained in the appropriate time of 15-20 seconds

Reported: The customer reported that the freezer wasn’t cooling and mentioned he had already cleaned the coils. He also noted that the door may be coming open, which could contribute to cooling issues.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, the frost pattern indicated a low freon condition. This type of refrigerant loss typically signals a leak in the sealed system, which is a major failure in older refrigerators like this Amana model.
Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation of cooling system · Parts: No parts were replaced · Result: Advised customer to replace the refrigerator due to sealed system failure

Diagnosis: During our inspection, we confirmed the lid lock assembly had broken. This critical safety component must signal to the control board that the lid is closed and locked before the washer will enter the spin cycle. Without a functioning lid lock, the washer stops after the wash cycle, leaving clothes soaking wet and the tub full of water.

Diagnosis: We found the spring on the door divider had snapped completely. The flipper assembly relies on this spring tension to pull the door tight against the seal when closed. Without it, the door just rests loosely in place.
Repair: Work: Replaced the spring on the door divider · Parts: DA81-01345B — Spring French · Result: Left door now closes and seals properly
