Whirlpool dishwasher (GU3000XTXS2) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dishwasher stopped working with no response from anything, sort of like it has no power but the breaker it’s connected to is fine. The Whirlpool Quiet Partner 3 was completely unresponsive to any controls.

Diagnosis: The connection in the junction box was loose. This loose wiring connection was preventing proper electrical flow to the dishwasher, causing the complete power failure the customer experienced.

Repair: Work: Repaired the loose connection in the junction box, installed a new drain hose with an air brake · Parts: WPW10545278 — drain hose, 8269144A — drain hose · Result: After repairing the connection, the dishwasher is operating correctly

GE refrigerator (GSS25TSRE SS) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported that coils keep frosting over causing both the freezer and refrigerator side to get warm. This is a classic sign of defrost system failure in GE refrigerators.

Diagnosis: The defrost termination thermostat had failed. When this component stops working, the defrost cycle can’t complete properly, leading to ice buildup on the evaporator coils and poor cooling performance throughout the unit.

Repair: Work: Replaced the failed defrost termination thermostat · Parts: WR50X10068 — refrigerator defrost termination thermostat, WR55X10025 — sensor temp FF · Result: After replacing it, the refrigerator should be good to go

Samsung refrigerator (RS261MDBP/XAA) — Akron, OH

Reported: The chord was badly damaged during moving, with the top two prongs badly bent and loose, and the third, bottom prong completely removed. The refrigerator was about 6 years old but had been in storage for about 5 years before the damage occurred.

Diagnosis: The power cord damage was immediately visible and presented a clear safety hazard. With bent prongs and a missing ground prong, the refrigerator couldn’t be safely plugged in or operated. The cord required complete replacement to restore safe electrical connection.

Repair: Work: Replaced the power cord · Parts: 3903-000400 — Power cord · Result: Issue is resolved

Speed queen washer — Akron, OH

Reported: The Speed Queen washer broke with clothes inside. Water was up so high that the customer could not get her clothes out of the machine.

Diagnosis: The washer looked fine mechanically, but this was a CSC Service Works machine. They had installed a control box on it specifically to keep other technicians from working on the unit.

Repair: Work: Assessment of CSC Service Works restriction system · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Customer advised of service limitation due to proprietary control system

Admiral washer — Akron, OH

Reported: The tenant in the building stated none of the washers are working. This was a multi-unit laundry facility with commercial equipment rather than residential appliances.

Diagnosis: We found 2 dryers that have no power at outlet, which had been previously reported. Everything else appeared to be fine, though there were a few washers that had water valves shut off. These are CSC Service Works machines with card readers instead of coin mechanisms, which are outside our normal service capabilities.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic inspection of commercial laundry equipment · Parts: No parts were used on this call · Result: Determined that specialized commercial service was needed

Whirlpool washer (WTW7300XW0) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Whirlpool washer won’t advance through cycles. This type of symptom typically indicates either a control issue or a mechanical problem preventing normal operation.

Diagnosis: The bearings have failed in this washer. In the spin cycle, it sounds like a jet taking off. When this happens, it’s not practical to repair them. The distinctive noise during spin cycle is the telltale sign of bearing failure — once you hear it, there’s no mistaking what’s wrong.

Repair: Work: Diagnosis and assessment · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Repair deemed impractical due to bearing failure

LG dishwasher (LDS5540ST) — Canal Fulton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their LG dishwasher was showing an NE error code and wouldn’t complete wash cycles. This error typically indicates an issue with the wash motor assembly or related components that control water circulation within the dishwasher.

Diagnosis: Our inspection confirmed a diverter motor failure. The diverter motor controls the direction of water flow during different wash cycles, and when it fails, the dishwasher cannot properly circulate water to clean dishes effectively. This component failure triggered the NE error code display.

Repair: Work: Installed new diverter motor · Parts: 4681ED3001D — Motor Assembly AC · Result: Dishwasher resumed normal operation with proper water circulation

GE refrigerator (GTS18ICMBRWW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their refrigerator was cooling but not very well. The unit was running but struggling to maintain proper temperatures throughout the compartments.

Diagnosis: The defrost terminator thermostat had failed causing the evaporator to ice over. When this component fails, it can’t properly signal the end of the defrost cycle, leading to excessive ice buildup that blocks proper airflow and reduces cooling efficiency.

Repair: Work: Replaced failed defrost terminator thermostat · Parts: WR50X122 — defrost terminator thermostat · Result: Refrigerator restored to proper cooling operation

Samsung refrigerator — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported they were still getting water on the floor from their Samsung refrigerator. This was an ongoing issue that had not been resolved in previous service calls, requiring our team to return and investigate further.

Diagnosis: Samuel conducted a thorough inspection to identify the source of the continued water leak. The repair required multiple scheduled visits on June 24th and June 27th, 2019, indicating this was a complex issue that needed careful attention to fully diagnose and address.

Repair: Work: Multiple service visits to address ongoing water leak · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Water leak issue resolved after comprehensive service

Whirlpool washer (Cabrio) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their Whirlpool Cabrio won’t spin. When it tries to spin there’s a really messed up/funny noise. The washer will still wash and go through the wash cycle normally.

Diagnosis: During inspection, we identified that the tub hub had failed. This component connects the wash basket to the drive system, and when it wears out or breaks, the washer loses its ability to spin properly while other functions may continue working.

Repair: Work: Replaced tub hub · Parts: W10528947 — tub hub · Result: Works great

Amana refrigerator (ABD2533DES) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer’s Amana refrigerator won’t cool. I hear the fan but its not cooling for over 12 hr.

Diagnosis: The evaporator coils were completely frosted over, blocking airflow despite the fan running. The control board had failed, preventing proper defrost cycles. We also found damaged gears on the freezer door slides and a misaligned refrigerator door.

Repair: Work: Defrosted evaporator and installed new control board. Also installed new gears on freezer door slides and adjusted refrigerator door · Parts: WPW10503278 — control board, 12002497 — freezer door slide gear · Result: Refrigerator cooling properly with correct temperatures in both compartments

Admiral washer (ATW4475VQ0) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Admiral washer was not draining. The wash cycles would complete, but water remained in the tub at the end.

Diagnosis: After inspection, we found the motor had failed. A bad motor prevents the washer from completing its drain cycle properly, leaving water trapped in the drum.

Repair: Work: Replaced motor · Parts: WP661600 — motor drive · Result: Washer now drains completely through all cycles

Admiral dryer — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that when pushing the start button, the dryer would hum but not initiate rotation. The motor was receiving power and attempting to run, but the drum wasn’t turning as it should.

Diagnosis: During our inspection, we determined that lint had accumulated and caught in the brushes. This buildup was preventing the drum from rotating freely despite the motor running.

Repair: Work: We held the door switch in, pushed the start button, and manually rotated the drum to clear the lint obstruction · Parts: None required · Result: The dryer operates correctly now with normal drum rotation

Admiral refrigerator — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the fridge was leaking water onto the floor. Water pooling under a refrigerator typically indicates drainage issues within the appliance’s defrost system.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the fridge had a plugged defrost drain. When this drain becomes blocked, defrost water cannot flow away properly and backs up, eventually leaking onto the kitchen floor.

Repair: Work: Cleared the plugged defrost drain · Parts: No parts were needed · Result: Issue was resolved and water leakage stopped

Frigidaire dryer (FASE7073LWO) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that when they turned the dryer on, it seemed to struggle to start turning and sounded like a belt or the drum. When it did turn, it had a loud noise when running.

Diagnosis: During inspection, we found the blower wheel had stripped out on the motor shaft. This caused the blower to lose its grip on the motor, creating the struggling startup and loud operational noises the customer experienced.

Repair: Work: Replaced the blower and housing · Parts: 131775600 — Blower Assembly · Result: The dryer is operating correctly

LG washer (WM2655HVA) — Canton, OH

Reported: The existing washer was throwing an OE code, which indicates a drain issue. The customer could still manually drain the machine, suggesting the pump motor had failed while the drain path remained clear.

Diagnosis: The OE error code on LG washers points to drainage problems. Since manual draining still worked, this confirmed the drain pump motor assembly had failed rather than a blockage in the drain system.

Repair: Work: Replaced the drain pump · Parts: 4681EA2001T — Motor Assembly (drain pump) · Result: Operation returned to normal

Maytag washer (LAT2600AAE) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the agitator doesn’t work on their Maytag LAT2600AAE washer.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed transmission failure · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Repair estimate provided to customer

Admiral dryer (GUD27ESSJ0WW) — Carrollton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their dryer smells hot during use, which understandably raised safety concerns about potential fire hazards or component failure.

Diagnosis: Upon arrival, we found that the washer and dryer seem to be operating correctly. We also checked the dryer vent and confirmed it is clear of obstructions.

Repair: Work: System inspection and vent clearance verification · Parts: None required · Result: Both appliances operating normally with no safety concerns identified

GE refrigerator (GSS22KGMB BB) — Carrollton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the freezer had frost built up on back wall and the fridge wasn’t cooling well. This combination of symptoms pointed to a defrost cycle failure affecting overall cooling performance.

Diagnosis: We tested the defrost components and found they were normal. However, the main control board was clearly fried. This board controls the defrost cycle timing and refrigerator operation, which explained both the frost buildup and poor cooling.

Repair: Work: Replaced main control board · Parts: WR55X10942P — Main Control Board Assembly · Result: Defrost cycle restored to proper operation, cooling performance normalized

Maytag washer (MVWX700XL2) — East Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer starts to spin then stops, agitator barely moves, and red light for lid locks keeps blinking. These symptoms suggested either a lid lock issue or a more serious mechanical problem preventing normal operation.

Diagnosis: The washer displayed error codes F7E7, F7E1, and E0F2. After testing the components, we found the wash plate and transmission have failed. This represents a catastrophic mechanical failure affecting the washer’s ability to agitate and spin properly.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic and cost estimate provided · Parts: None — customer opted for replacement · Result: Due to the cost of the repair, they decided to replace the washer

Admiral washer (40 lbs) — Louisville, OH

Reported: The commercial laundry facility reported several equipment issues: a Wascomat washer with a spring problem, a Continental large single dryer where coins don’t drop, and a Continental washer with a locked door. Additional equipment including a Huebsch softmount bearing kit and a Dexter dryer thermostat were also noted for service.

Diagnosis: The Wascomat washer required spring replacement. The Continental dryer had a jammed coin chute preventing proper coin drop operation. The Continental washer door latch assembly needed adjustment to resolve the locking issue.

Repair: Work: Replaced the spring, cleared jammed coin chute, adjusted door latch assembly · Parts: Spring for Wascomat washer · Result: Wascomat washer operation is normal, Continental dryer coin mechanism working, Continental washer door functioning properly

Admiral dryer (FASE7073NWO) — Louisville, OH

Reported: The customer reported an E64 error code on their Admiral dryer. She had the heating element replaced about 2 years ago and now the same code was appearing again. She also felt like it was taking too long to dry.

Diagnosis: After looking at the dryer, we found the heating element had failed and was shorting against the housing. We also discovered she had it set to cool during our initial visit.

Repair: Work: Installed new element · Parts: 134792700 — heating element · Result: Operation is normal

Dexter washer — Louisville, OH

Reported: Several Dexter washers and dryers were in need of repair at the West Main Laundromat in Louisville, OH. Multiple units were out of service, impacting the business’s ability to serve customers.

Diagnosis: We found one washer that wouldn’t spin or drain due to an obstructed drain. Another washer had a leaking drain hose that had worked loose. Three coin mechanisms were jammed and not accepting payment. The double stack dryer was completely out of order, and testing revealed a failed control board in the far left machine.

Admiral Oven/stove; dishwasher (Fef352dwb) — Massilllon, OH

Reported: The customer reported that she can’t get clock display to stay on. This issue developed after a power outage affected the home’s electrical systems.

Diagnosis: The clock on her oven was fried in a power outage. Power surges during electrical outages can damage sensitive electronic components in appliances, particularly display circuits and control boards that aren’t adequately protected.

Repair: Work: Replaced the control panel · Parts: 5304511908 — FRG clock · Result: Clock is working correctly

LG washer — Massillon, OH

Reported: The water won’t drain. The customer had a code they believed was OE. The drain trap at the bottom was clear. They tried another cycle and listened for the drain motor and it was working. They thought that was the problem but knew it could be anything.

Diagnosis: The LG front load washing machine had water sitting in it as a result of the drain pump failing. Even though the customer could hear the drain motor running, the pump assembly itself had failed and wasn’t moving water out of the tub.

Repair: Work: Drained the water with a shop vac and installed a new pump · Parts: 4681EA2001T — Motor Assembly · Result: It appears to be operating correctly and the symptoms are resolved

Admiral refrigerator (Hot point) — Massillon, OH

Reported: The freezer is not freezing correctly. The customer noticed items weren’t staying frozen solid and temperatures weren’t maintaining where they should be.

Diagnosis: The condenser fan motor had failed. This motor circulates air over the condenser coils, which is essential for the refrigeration cycle to work properly. Without it running, the system can’t reject heat effectively, leading to poor cooling performance.

Repair: Work: Replaced the failed condenser fan motor · Parts: 833697-MOTOR-COND — condenser fan motor · Result: After replacing it, the fridge is cooling correctly

Frigidaire oven/stove (LGEF3045KFM) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer reported an F11 error code appearing on their Frigidaire oven. This error typically indicates a communication issue between the control board and the keypad.

Diagnosis: Upon arrival, we found that the homeowner had unplugged the oven and reset it. This power cycle cleared the error code and restored normal operation to the unit.

Repair: Work: Verified the reset resolved the F11 error · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Oven functioning normally with no error codes

Whirlpool Washer; refrigerator (Washer is a Cabrio platinum) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their refrigerator and washing machine have been leaking. Both appliances were causing water issues in their home, requiring immediate attention to prevent further damage.

Diagnosis: The fridge had a plugged defrost drain that was causing water to back up and leak. For the washer, it had clearly been leaking based on evidence at the scene, but we were unable to replicate the leak while on-site.

Repair: Work: Cleared the defrost drain and removed all accumulated ice from the refrigerator · Parts: None needed · Result: Refrigerator drain restored to proper function; washer leak could not be reproduced during service call

Whirlpool dryer (Duet GEW9250PW1) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dryer won’t heat. The unit would run through cycles normally but clothes came out still damp, indicating a complete loss of heat generation.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed a burned-out heating element that had failed completely. We also discovered restricted airflow through the vent system that likely contributed to the element failure by causing excessive heat buildup and shortened component life.

Repair: Work: Replaced the heat element and cleaned the vents · Parts: WP3387747 — heating element · Result: Good to go

Admiral Washer; dryer — Munroe, OH

Reported: The customer reported that both the washer and dryer wouldn’t take quarters. When both coin-operated machines stop accepting coins simultaneously, it’s highly unlikely they’re both mechanically broken.

Diagnosis: We stopped by and couldn’t find anything wrong with either machine. The washer and dryer appeared to have been full of coins, and it looked like the coins were recently dumped. This explained why neither machine was accepting quarters.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed coin mechanism operation · Parts: None needed · Result: Machines functioning normally after coin boxes were emptied

Speed queen washer (AWN412SP111TW01) — Navarre, OH

Reported: The customer reported that a few months ago, their Speed Queen washer started making a dull knocking noise during both spin cycles that sounded like an unbalanced load, but wasn’t. Clothes were coming out a little wetter than usual. The noise had gotten louder and sharper over time, and the customer suspected a bearing had gone bad after checking springs and looking for stuck coins or debris.

Diagnosis: During our inspection, we found the washing machine had developed a shake and vibration that was creating the noise. While we were unable to trace the exact route of the vibration, all basic functions of the washer were working correctly. The root cause was identified as a bad belt, which could have contributed to the drain problem as well.

Repair: Work: Replaced the faulty agitate and spin belt · Parts: 38174 — Belt Agitate Spin · Result: Customer was advised to monitor the condition and contact us if it worsened

Admiral oven/stove (FCRG305LAFA) — North Canton, OH

Diagnosis: Our technician Samuel Willhite diagnosed the issue as a bad control board. The control board is the electronic brain of the oven that manages all heating cycles and user inputs. When this component fails, the entire unit becomes inoperable.

Repair: Work: Installed new control board · Parts: 5304521341 — control board · Result: Oven is heating now and functioning properly

Samsung dryer (DV218AEW/XAA) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Samsung dryer sounded like metal grinding against metal. This type of noise typically indicates worn or failed mechanical components inside the drum assembly.

Diagnosis: The idler pulley had failed which caused the grinding noise. The idler pulley maintains proper tension on the drive belt and guides it around the drum. When it fails, the belt can slip and create that distinctive metal-on-metal grinding sound.

Repair: Work: While the dryer was apart for the idler pulley replacement, we also replaced the heat element and belt · Parts: DC93-00634A idler pulley, DC97-14486A assembly duct heater, ER6602-001655 belt · Result: Dryer operates quietly with proper heating and belt tension restored

Kenmore washer (110.20022013) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their washer makes a click noise at the beginning of the cycle to adjust the load, which is normal. What it was doing now was not stopping clicking and being loud. If set on delicates with a small load, it only clicked a couple times. They also found a nut in the bottom of the washer after a load.

Diagnosis: During our inspection, we discovered the pulley was loose on the bottom of the washer transmission. This loose connection was causing the continuous loud clicking throughout the cycle instead of the brief normal adjustment clicks.

Repair: Work: Tightened the loose pulley on the transmission · Parts: None required · Result: The washer is operating correctly

Samsung dryer (DV42H5200EF/A3) — North Lawrence, OH

Reported: The customer contacted us about an HE code on their Samsung dryer. The dryer was overheating the clothes. They had already checked the vent for blockage and replaced the thermistor, but the code remained and it was still overheating.

Diagnosis: The heat element was shorted to the housing. As a result, the high limit thermostat was also tripped. This short circuit condition caused the overheating symptoms and triggered the HE error code.

Repair: Work: Replaced the heat element and fuse, and also replaced the idler pulley on the belt while the unit was apart · Parts: DC97-14486A Assembly Duct Heater, DC96-00887C Thermal Fuse, DC93-00634A Idler Pulley · Result: Symptoms are resolved and unit is operating normally

Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT720PADM) — Uniontown, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the dishwasher does not seem to be getting water through the spray arms. They had already verified the supply valve is open, all electronics work properly, overfill float moves freely, and spray arms can spin freely.

Diagnosis: With water supply confirmed and electronics functioning normally, we focused on the wash pump system. Testing revealed the wash pump had failed, preventing water circulation to the spray arms even though the unit was receiving adequate water supply.
