Repairs completed the week of September 22, 2025 across Akron, Alliance, Canton, Carrollton, Dellroy, East Rochester and more.
Whirlpool refrigerator (WRS571CIDB01) — Akron, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their Whirlpool refrigerator does not dispense cubes it makes through the door. The ice maker was producing ice normally, but pressing the dispenser lever wouldn’t release any cubes into the glass.
Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed the wire harness had a broken wire at the bottom of the door. This severed connection prevented the electrical signal from reaching the ice dispenser mechanism when the lever was activated.
Repair: Work: Soldered the broken wire back together and shrink wrapped the repair · Parts: None required · Result: Ice dispenser function fully restored
KitchenAid range/cooktop (Kgcv566) — Akron, OH
Reported: All burners were clicking and trying to light at the same time on this KitchenAid range. This type of continuous clicking across multiple burners typically indicates electrical issues that can’t be easily repaired.
Diagnosis: The clicking behavior across all burners pointed to control system problems that would require extensive repairs. Given the age and condition of the unit, the customer had already made the decision to replace the cooktop rather than attempt repairs.
Repair: Work: Installed new range cooktop · Parts: Complete new range cooktop (customer-supplied from Home Depot) · Result: New cooktop functioning properly with all burners operating correctly
Frigidaire refrigerator (Ffht1826lwc) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The customer called because their Frigidaire refrigerator freezer works but the refrigerator section wasn’t cooling. Temps were measuring 60 degrees, forcing them to throw out spoiled food.
Diagnosis: We found the evaporator fan motor had failed again. This was the same part we had replaced several months ago under warranty coverage.
Repair: Work: Replaced the failed evaporator fan motor · Parts: 242077705 — evaporator fan motor · Result: Warranty replacement completed at no charge
Whirlpool refrigerator (Chest freezer) — Alliance, OH
Reported: The customer reported icing up in freezer and initially suspected the door seal should be replaced. Ice buildup in a chest freezer typically indicates warm air getting into the unit.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the door wasn’t sealing properly due to misalignment rather than a faulty seal. The door seal itself was in good condition and didn’t require replacement.
Repair: Work: Adjusted the door for proper alignment · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Door now seals correctly, preventing warm air infiltration
Admiral refrigerator (FRS22PRCD0) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their freezer was not freezing. The ice cream was cold but not frozen. Occasionally it sounds like it turns on but turns right back off.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the ice maker assembly had failed internally. When an ice maker stops filling with water, it’s typically due to water valve issues, clogged lines, or internal component failure within the ice maker itself. In this case, the entire ice maker unit needed replacement.
Repair: Work: Replaced the ice maker · Parts: AEQ72910409 — Ice maker assembly · Result: Unit is cycling and filling with water correctly
Frigidaire oven/stove (FFES3015LSD) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their electric surface element had inconsistent heating — they could reduce the heat from high to low and the element would reduce in heat but soon after would go back to high heat. Additionally, the oven light switch would not turn off the light, and after replacing a burned-out bulb themselves, the light stayed on. They also requested oven temperature testing.
Diagnosis: Testing revealed a faulty front right-hand burner switch causing the erratic heating behavior. The oven light issue stemmed from a defective switch mechanism. We also found the temperature sensor needed replacement to ensure accurate oven temperatures.
Repair: Work: Replaced the front right hand burner switch, light bulb and temperature sensor · Parts: 318293831 — front right hand burner switch, 8009-BULB-LIGHT — light bulb, 5304504897 — temperature sensor · Result: All functions restored to proper operation

Repair: Result: Customer informed of parts availability situation
KitchenAid refrigerator (KRFC704FBS00) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their fridge was not cooling properly. This is a critical issue that requires immediate attention to prevent food spoilage and safety concerns.
Diagnosis: During inspection, we identified that this KitchenAid model has a technical service bulletin for FC frost problem. The issue stems from faulty evaporator cover/fan assembly and control board components that affect the refrigerator’s cooling performance.
Whirlpool oven/stove (GFE461LVS0) — Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported erratic temperature in their Whirlpool oven. Temperature fluctuations make it difficult to bake or roast properly, as the oven can’t maintain the set temperature consistently.
Diagnosis: On our first visit, we replaced the oven temperature sensor, which is typically the cause of temperature regulation issues. However, the stove was still having temp issues on our follow-up visit, indicating the control board was the actual problem.
Repair: Work: Sensor replacement, follow-up diagnosis · Parts: WPW10181986 — oven temperature sensor · Result: Control board identified as root cause, but part not currently available
Frigidaire refrigerator (FFTR1222QW) — Carrollton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the freezer was full of frost and the fridge wouldn’t cool. They had already replaced the fan themselves but it didn’t take care of the problem.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the fan wasn’t quite installed correctly. This improper installation prevented proper air circulation throughout the refrigerator compartments.
Repair: Work: Reinstalled the fan correctly · Parts: None needed · Result: The fridge appears to be circulating air properly
Maytag dryer (LSE1000) — Dellroy, OH
Reported: The customer reported their dryer was not drying on auto dry. The unit would operate but failed to properly sense moisture levels and complete the drying cycle effectively.
Diagnosis: It appeared that the thermistor had failed. This temperature sensing component is critical for auto dry cycles to function properly. Unfortunately, the thermistor was no longer available as a replacement part, nor was the heat element.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed the washer needed a new actuator and transmission. These are major components that control the washing machine’s agitation and spin functions. When both fail, it indicates significant mechanical wear throughout the drive system.
Repair: Result: No repair performed due to cost versus replacement value
Whirlpool washer (WTW4815EW1) — Louisville, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the lid stays in lock position and the drum does not spin but sounds as if motor is trying to move it. The washer would attempt to operate but couldn’t complete its wash cycle due to the spinning mechanism failing.
Diagnosis: The bearings in the transmission are failing. This is a significant internal component failure that affects the washer’s ability to agitate and spin the drum properly, explaining why the motor sounds like it’s trying to move but the drum won’t turn.
Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation of transmission failure · Parts: No parts — replacement recommended · Result: Customer advised that transmission replacement would represent a significant repair cost and that unit replacement would be more practical
Maytag washer (Bravo top loader MVWX600BW0) — Louisville, OH
Reported: The customer reported their washer had a tub full of water with the lid locked shut. The unit wouldn’t unlock, run, or drain — essentially dead in the water with a load trapped inside.
Diagnosis: The control board was fried. This is the electronic brain that controls all washer functions including the lid lock mechanism and drain cycle. When it fails, the washer can’t complete basic operations or safety sequences.
Repair: Work: Installed new control board · Parts: Control board · Result: Washer functioned properly after board replacement
Whirlpool washer (LSQ8243HQ0) — Malvern, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their Whirlpool washer fills and washes fine. It won’t drain or spin. This symptom pattern typically indicates an issue with the lid switch assembly, which is a safety mechanism that must detect a closed lid before allowing the washer to enter the high-speed spin cycle.
Diagnosis: Testing revealed the lid switch was no longer functioning properly. When the lid switch fails, the washer’s control system won’t allow the drain and spin cycles to operate, even though the fill and wash portions work normally. This is a built-in safety feature to prevent the washer from spinning with an open lid.
Repair: Work: Replaced the lid switch on the washer · Parts: 3949247V — lid switch · Result: Operation is normal and symptoms are resolved
Kenmore refrigerator (25360082415) — Massillon, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the freezer seems fine, however, the frig isn’t as cold as it should be. Currently the temp is 52, it was 57 degrees yesterday. The fan is still running.
Diagnosis: Even though a fan was still running, the motor fan assembly in the freezer compartment had failed. This assembly is critical for circulating cold air between the freezer and refrigerator sections in most refrigerator designs.
Repair: Work: Replaced the motor fan assembly in the freezer compartment · Parts: 242077705 — Motor fan assembly · Result: Issues resolved
LG refrigerator (LMXX30776S/03) — Massillon, OH
Reported: The fridge keeps shutting off and the customer had to go down and turn the circuit breaker off then back on. It would work for awhile then shut off again. The customer looked up the code and found it was saying it could be the fan connected with the ice maker.
Diagnosis: The fridge function appeared to be fine. It had generated an error code for the ice maker fan. It appeared that when the fridge had thawed out, the ice maker fan created ice and froze up. There were two coffee makers on the same circuit. It appears that the circuit was overloaded.
Repair: Work: Identified circuit overload issue and ice maker fan freeze-up · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Customer advised on electrical circuit management
Amana dryer (LE8107W2) — Minerva, OH
Reported: The customer reported their dryer won’t dry clothes properly. The unit would run through cycles but leave laundry damp or wet at the end.

Repair: Work: Replaced the high limit thermal fuse on the dryer · Parts: WP40113801 — high limit thermal fuse · Result: Dryer restored to full heating capacity and proper drying performance
KitchenAid dishwasher (KDFE104DBL5) — Navarre, OH
Reported: The customer reported their dishwasher will not run water. The unit wasn’t filling with water and wouldn’t cycle through its wash programs properly.
Diagnosis: We found the dishwasher had a chunk of food stuck under the float switch. This debris prevented the float from moving freely, which is essential for the dishwasher’s water level sensing system. When the float switch can’t operate correctly, the dishwasher won’t fill with water and cycling stops.
Repair: Work: Cleared the chunk of food from under the float switch · Parts: None required · Result: The dishwasher is working correctly and cycling properly
Kenmore dryer (110.94832201) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer contacted us because their Kenmore dryer was not heating. They had done their homework before calling, verifying that gas was on at the house and that both the lint screen and vent outlet were clear.
Diagnosis: Our testing revealed two failed components: the thermal fuse and the gas coil packs. These safety and control components work together to regulate gas flow and prevent overheating. When either fails, the dryer will run but produce no heat.
Repair: Work: Replace the thermal fuse and the gas coil packs · Parts: WP3392519 thermal fuse, 279834 gas valve coil packs · Result: Dryer vent test is clear. Issues resolved and operation is normal
Samsung washer (WF42H5200AP/A2) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the door will not lock. This prevented the washer from starting its wash cycle, as Samsung washers require a secure door lock before operation begins.
Diagnosis: We examined the door latch mechanism on this WF42H5200AP/A2 model and determined the latch assembly needed proper reinstallation to function correctly.
Repair: Work: Reinstalled the door latch · Parts: LAB-REPAIR APPLIANCE · Result: The washer is operating correctly with 30 day guarantee on service call
LG washer (WM2487HRMA) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the ring is ripped and it’s leaking water. This combination of issues indicated potential problems with both the door seal and internal water valves.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that both the hot water valve and door boot had failed. The door boot (rubber door seal) was torn, allowing water to escape during the wash cycle, while the hot water valve was also compromised and contributing to the leak.
Repair: Work: Replaced the hot water valve and door boot · Parts: 5220FR2006H — hot water valve assembly, 4986ER0004G — door boot gasket · Result: Leak eliminated and washer restored to proper operation
Maytag dryer (MEDE300VW1) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their garage dryer was starting to squeak a little once in a while. Then it stopped in the middle of a cycle and now won’t start at all.
Diagnosis: The idler pulley had failed. This pulley maintains proper tension on the drive belt that rotates the drum. When it fails, the belt can’t maintain tension and the dryer loses the ability to tumble clothes.
Repair: Work: Installed new pulley · Parts: 279640 — idler pulley · Result: Dryer is operating and heating properly
Whirlpool washer (WTW4800XQ1) — North Canton, OH
Reported: Part of a robe tie was stuck under the agitator. The fabric had worked its way down into the mechanism during a wash cycle, preventing normal operation.
Diagnosis: There was a robe tie stuck under the agitator. The obstruction was lodged deep enough that it required agitator removal to access and extract safely.
Repair: Work: Removed the agitator and removed the tie · Result: Washer restored to normal operation with proper agitator function

Reported: The customer reported a loud, grinding noise coming from their Frigidaire dishwasher. The noise was disrupting the wash cycles and getting progressively worse with each use.
Diagnosis: After removing the lower dish rack and inspecting the circulation system, we found the circulation pump motor had failed. The grinding noise was coming from worn internal components that could no longer operate smoothly. We also noticed the door splash shields needed replacement due to wear.
Repair: Work: Replaced circulation pump and splash shields on door · Parts: 154844301 — Motor Pump Assembly, 154701001 — Splash Shield Kit, 809006501 — Gasket · Result: Dishwasher now operates quietly through all wash cycles
GE dryer (GTD42EASJ1WW) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that the dryer only works when you hold the start button in. It shuts off as soon as you let go. This symptom typically indicates an issue with the belt system that prevents the dryer from maintaining operation once started.
Diagnosis: The belt had broken. This is a relatively common issue with these dryers. Another common issue is that sometimes it will operate when you push the start switch, but quit as soon as you let go. This would typically be caused by a failed broken belt switch. Down by the motor on the idler pulley is a switch that is pressed when the belt is properly engaged. If the belt comes off then that switch becomes depressed and it will not allow the dryer to function.
Repair: Work: Replaced the broken belt · Parts: WE03X29897 — Drive Belt · Result: After replacing it, the dryer is operating correctly
NXR oven/stove (NXR ENTREE) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The gas oven would not heat up, though the gas burners on top were working normally. The customer had already contacted NXR directly, who diagnosed the issue and sent the replacement igniter along with the helpful suggestion to either hire a repairman or attempt a DIY YouTube repair.
Diagnosis: With the part already identified by the manufacturer, we confirmed the igniter had failed. This is the most common cause when gas ovens won’t heat but the stovetop burners still function — the igniter glows but doesn’t generate enough current to open the gas valve.
Repair: Work: Installed the new igniter · Parts: New igniter (provided by manufacturer) · Result: Oven was working fine after installation
GE refrigerator (GSH25JFXN WW) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported that their refrigerator has power but no longer cooling/freezing. Both refrigerator and freezer not working. Current temp is 70 degrees.
Diagnosis: Compressor was hot but would not start. Evaporator and condenser fans passed. The compressor was receiving power but the start/overload relay had failed, preventing the compressor from cycling on to begin the cooling process.
Repair: Work: Installed new start / overload relay · Parts: WR07X10131 — overload PTCR combo · Result: Operation is normal. Running amp draw approximately 1.1
Whirlpool dryer (LE5650XMW0) — North Canton, OH

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed failed cycling thermostats in the heating system, preventing proper heat generation. Additionally, the drum support components — belt, support rollers, and tension pulley — had worn out, causing the noise issues during operation.
Repair: Work: Replaced the cycling thermostat on the exhaust and heater, replaced the belt, support rollers and tension pulley using the Whirlpool dryer repair kit · Parts: 4392065 Whirlpool dryer repair kit, WP694674 cycling thermostat, 279052 cycling thermostat · Result: Dryer now operates quietly with proper heating function restored
Whirlpool refrigerator (ED2KHAXVB01) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their refrigerator was making a funny sound: click, whirring sound, click about every 2 minutes. When they pulled it out, they found water on the floor and noticed freezer food was defrosting. They turned off the water, emptied both the freezer and refrigerator, and unplugged the unit.
Diagnosis: The compressor had failed. The clicking and whirring sounds every 2 minutes indicated the compressor was attempting to start but couldn’t maintain operation, causing the cooling system to fail and allowing ice to melt throughout the unit.
Whirlpool washer (WTW4816FW2) — North Canton, OH
Reported: The customer reported their washer not agitating during operation. The drum would fill with water but clothes weren’t being moved around properly during the wash cycle.
Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we discovered that agitator splines have corroded and stripped the transmission shaft. This is a significant mechanical failure that prevents the agitator from engaging with the transmission to provide the washing action.
Repair: Result: No charge for today’s service
Samsung dryer (Samsung) — North Lawrence, OH
Reported: The customer reported their Samsung dryer won’t dry clothes. This was a return visit — we had previously replaced the heat element and thermal fuse, but the thermal fuse had blown again.
Diagnosis: The thermal fuse had blown again. This can be caused by a shorted heat element, bad cycling thermostat, or plugged vent. The element and vent looked good. The idler pulley was also making some noise.
Repair: Work: Replaced the entire heater duct assembly including the element, cycling thermostat, and high limit fuse, plus the noisy idler pulley · Parts: DC93-00634A idler pulley, DE486A heating element assembly · Result: All work was covered under warranty

Reported: The customer reported that the dryer belt broke and needed replaced, with the broken belt still available for reference. They also requested dryer vent replacement. The washer needed leveled because both the drum and the unit required adjustment, making high spin unusable due to excessive shaking.
Diagnosis: On the dryer, we confirmed the broken belt and found the idler pulley also needed replacement. The washer inspection revealed a more serious issue — the washer has broken tub support with parts unavailable for this model.
Repair: Work: Replaced belt and idler pulley on dryer · Parts: 6602-001655 timing gear belt, DC93-00634A idler pulley · Result: Dryer restored to normal operation
