Samsung washer (WA54R7200AW/US) — Alliance, OH

Samsung washer (WA54R7200AW/US) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Samsung WA54R7200AW/US washer was stuck in drain and wouldn’t change cycles. No matter what settings they selected, the machine would only drain continuously without filling, washing, or spinning. This left their laundry soaking wet and made the washer completely unusable.

Diagnosis: When we arrived, the control was indeed locked in continuous drain mode. The pressure switch was sending inconsistent readings to the control board, making it think water was always in the tub even when empty. We thoroughly inspected the pressure hose and wiring harness for kinks, blockages, or damage but found them intact. The root cause was internal failure of the pressure switch sensor itself.

Repair: Work: Removed old pressure switch, installed new sensor, reconnected pressure hose and electrical harness · Parts: DC96-01703N — pressure switch sensor (5V air sensor) · Result: Ran calibration cycle and Smart Install sequence; all cycles now selectable and functioning normally

Samsung refrigerator (RF28HFEDTWW/AA) — Alliance, OH

Samsung refrigerator (RF28HFEDTWW/AA) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer called because their refrigerator compartment wasn’t keeping food cold, though the freezer worked fine. Fresh items were spoiling quickly, and they could feel warm air when opening the fridge door. The freezer maintained proper temperatures, which pointed to a problem specific to the fresh food cooling system.

Diagnosis: Opening the fresh food section revealed heavy frost buildup on the evaporator cover. The evaporator fan was running weakly and the temperature sensor gave unstable readings. The defrost drain was completely frozen, causing water to back up instead of draining properly. This created a cycle where defrost water refroze on the evaporator, blocking airflow and preventing proper cooling of the refrigerator compartment.

Repair: Work: Removed old iced-over evaporator cover, cleared blocked drain line, installed new cover assembly with fresh fan and sensor, replaced drain components · Parts: DA97-12608A (evaporator cover assembly with integrated fan and sensor), DA82-01415A (drain tube and heat probe assembly) · Result: Proper airflow restored, defrost drainage working correctly, refrigerator compartment cooling to proper temperature

Maytag washer (MVWC565FW0) — Alliance, OH

Maytag washer (MVWC565FW0) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that clothes weren’t getting clean because the agitator would move intermittently and the wash basket wouldn’t follow along. The washer would fill and drain normally, but without proper agitation, clothes came out still dirty and poorly spun.

Diagnosis: Inside this MVWC565FW0, we found the wash plate splines had rounded from wear, creating excessive play between the agitator and drive system. The spin hub splines were also stripped on the drive shaft. The motor sounded normal and no error codes appeared — this was purely mechanical wear in the drive components that connect the motor to the wash basket.

Repair: Work: Removed agitator assembly, replaced worn drive components, reassembled with proper alignment · Parts: W10528947 — spin hub, W11161960 — wash plate · Result: Full agitation restored with basket following properly; clothes came out clean and well-spun

Admiral refrigerator (LGHS2665KF2) — Alliance, OH

Admiral refrigerator (LGHS2665KF2) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The refrigerator would cycle on and off unpredictably, with loud fan noise coming from the freezer section. Ice had formed around the evaporator fan shroud and in the drain trough, blocking proper airflow and causing temperature fluctuations that threatened food safety.

Diagnosis: We found the inlet water valve was dripping when idle, sending excess moisture into the evaporator compartment. This moisture froze around the fan assembly and blocked the drain line near its outlet. The fan struggled against ice buildup, creating the noise, while the blocked drainage prevented proper defrost cycles.

Repair: Work: Replaced faulty valve, defrosted entire freezer compartment, cleared frozen drain line · Parts: 242252702 — triple solenoid water inlet valve · Result: Steady cooling cycles resumed with quiet operation and no leaks

Amana dryer (NGD5100TQ1) — Alliance, OH

Amana dryer (NGD5100TQ1) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The dryer would run but produced no heat, and the timer wouldn’t advance through the cycle. This combination of symptoms typically points to a thermal fuse failure, since this component controls both the heating element and timer motor in most Amana models.

Diagnosis: Testing the thermal fuse with a multimeter showed it was open — no continuity. The fuse had blown due to restricted airflow, likely from lint buildup in the exhaust system. When dryers can’t expel hot air properly, internal temperatures rise and the thermal fuse trips to prevent overheating.

Repair: Work: Replaced thermal fuse and inspected entire venting system · Parts: WP3392519 — thermal fuse · Result: Heat restored and timer advancing properly through all cycles

Samsung dryer (DV42H5000EW) — Alliance, OH

Samsung dryer (DV42H5000EW) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their electric dryer running through complete cycles but leaving clothes still damp. No heat was being generated on either timed or sensor dry cycles, forcing them to run multiple cycles to get laundry dry.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the heating element measured open circuit — completely failed with no continuity. The thermal fuse and cycling thermostat in the heater assembly had also aged beyond reliable operation. Additionally, the idler pulley was sticky and worn, creating unnecessary strain on the belt and drive system.

Repair: Parts: DC97-14486A heater assembly (complete unit with element, thermal fuse, and thermostat) · Result: Full heat restoration with smooth drum operation and normal dry times

Maytag dryer (MEDC300BW0) — Alliance, OH

Maytag dryer (MEDC300BW0) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their MEDC300BW0 dryer was making a loud squealing noise when first started, though the sound would fade after running for several minutes. This pattern typically indicates worn support components that need lubrication from movement to quiet down temporarily.

Diagnosis: With the dryer cabinet opened, we found the drum rollers were worn down and the idler pulley bearing was rough to the touch. The drive belt was still intact and tracking properly, and the heating element tested within normal parameters. The squealing was coming from these worn support components struggling to rotate smoothly during startup.

Repair: Work: Removed drum, replaced worn rollers and idler pulley, reassembled unit · Parts: 4392065 — drum roller kit and idler pulley assembly · Result: Dryer runs quietly through complete cycle with no startup noise

Insinkerator disposal (BADGER 5 PLUS 5 PLUS-5) — Alliance, OH

Insinkerator disposal (BADGER 5 PLUS 5 PLUS-5) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the disposal stopped working mid-cycle while grinding food scraps. The unit wouldn’t respond when they flipped the switch, and dirty water was backing up in the sink. They had already tried the reset button on the bottom of the unit with no success.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed no motor response at the wall switch, confirming the unit was completely dead. Using a hex key from below, we found the flywheel was stuck tight and wouldn’t rotate manually. Opening the grind chamber, we discovered debris lodged between the flywheel and the grinding ring. The obstruction had caused the motor to overload and trip the internal breaker.

Repair: Work: Removed debris from grind chamber, freed jammed flywheel, reset overload protection · Parts: None — service call only · Result: Unit starts immediately, grinds smoothly, sink drains completely

Whirlpool refrigerator (GD5RVAXVB02) — Alliance, OH

Whirlpool refrigerator (GD5RVAXVB02) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported excessive frost accumulation in the freezer section and noticed the unit wasn’t going through regular defrost cycles. Food was starting to freeze harder than normal, and ice was building up on the evaporator coils behind the back panel.

Diagnosis: We found no heavy ice buildup during our visit, suggesting the defrost issue was intermittent. The forced defrost test engaged properly — the heater energized and began melting any residual frost. Both the defrost heater and bi-metal thermostat showed good continuity. The thermistor readings were within normal range, and door gaskets sealed properly. This pointed to a control board or timer issue that occurs sporadically rather than a failed component.

Repair: Work: Forced defrost cycle, tested heater and thermostat continuity, verified thermistor operation · Parts: None — all defrost components tested functional · Result: Unit cycled normally through defrost mode; customer advised to monitor for recurring symptoms

GE washer (GUD27GSSM1WW) — Alliance, OH

GE washer (GUD27GSSM1WW) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their GE model GUD27GSSM1WW washer had been failing to complete cycles for several weeks. The machine would start normally but would error out or stop mid-cycle, particularly when washing larger loads. Water would drain, but clothes remained soapy and unwashed.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the drive belt had stretched significantly from repeated oversized loads. The belt was slipping on the pulleys during agitation and spin phases, causing weak mechanical action and triggering the machine’s error sensors. Under moderate load, the washer couldn’t generate enough torque to properly agitate or spin clothes.

Repair: Work: Removed cabinet panels, replaced stretched drive belt, adjusted pulley tension · Parts: WE12X27300 — drive belt · Result: Post-repair test cycle completed full wash, rinse, and spin without errors

Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT970SAHV0) — Alliance, OH

Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT970SAHV0) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported dishes coming out dirty, especially items loaded in the center rack. During our initial inspection, we could see the upper and lower spray arms spinning normally during the wash cycle, but the middle spray arm remained completely motionless with no water coming out of its jets.

Diagnosis: We verified the wash pump was generating proper pressure and sending water to the upper spray arm assembly. However, the middle spray arm had zero water output. When we removed the center rack and lifted out the middle spray arm, we found it packed solid with food particles and grease buildup. The debris had formed a complete blockage in the arm’s internal channels, preventing any water from reaching the spray holes.

Repair: Work: Removed middle spray arm, cleared all debris from internal channels, flushed water lines, reinstalled spray arm · Parts: None required · Result: Full test cycle confirmed proper water flow from all spray arms and effective cleaning performance

Maytag washer (MVWC465HW2) — Alliance, OH

Maytag washer (MVWC465HW2) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported a loud grinding noise coming from their MVWC465HW2 during the wash cycle. The washer was still completing all cycles normally, but the noise was getting progressively worse. This type of grinding typically indicates wear in the drive system components that connect the motor to the wash basket.

Diagnosis: We accessed the drive assembly and found two failed components: the shift actuator that controls the transmission modes was worn and not engaging properly, and the hub that connects the agitator to the drive system showed significant wear patterns. These parts work together to transfer power from the motor through the transmission, and when they fail, metal-on-metal contact creates the grinding noise the customer was hearing.

Repair: Work: Removed old worn components, installed new shift actuator and hub, reassembled drive system · Parts: W10913953 shift actuator, W10528947 hub assembly · Result: Tested multiple wash cycles with quiet operation and proper agitation patterns

Whirlpool refrigerator (ED5LHEXTD00) — Alliance, OH

Whirlpool refrigerator (ED5LHEXTD00) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their ED5LHEXTD00 refrigerator was cooling intermittently, with temperatures fluctuating between warm and cold throughout the day. Food was starting to spoil from the unstable conditions, and the compressor seemed to run randomly rather than cycling properly.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the cold control thermostat had no electrical continuity when set to the cold position. When we bypassed the thermostat entirely, the unit cooled normally and maintained steady temperatures. The thermostat’s internal contacts had failed, preventing it from properly signaling the compressor to run when cooling was needed.

Repair: Work: Removed failed thermostat, installed new unit, reconnected wiring · Parts: WP2198202 — cold control thermostat · Result: Verified proper cycling and stable temperature control

Whirlpool dryer (WED7600XW0) — Alliance, OH

Whirlpool dryer (WED7600XW0) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dryer was tumbling and completing cycles normally, but clothes came out damp every time. No heat was being generated despite the unit drawing power and the drum rotating properly. This is a classic heating element failure pattern on Whirlpool electric dryers.

Diagnosis: We verified 240V supply to the unit and confirmed the thermal fuse had continuity. The heating element tested completely open on our ohm meter — no resistance reading at all, indicating the coil had broken. The thermistor and high-limit thermostats were within specification, and airflow through the drum was strong with a clear vent path. The element failure was isolated and complete.

Repair: Work: Removed rear panel, disconnected element leads, installed new heating element with proper torque on terminals · Parts: WP8544771 — heating element assembly · Result: Full heat cycle verified, normal dry times restored on cotton setting

Whirlpool dryer (GEW9200LW1) — Alliance, OH

Whirlpool dryer (GEW9200LW1) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their GEW9200LW1 would tumble normally and complete cycles, but clothes came out as wet as they went in. No heat meant extended run times and wasted energy with no results.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the high-limit thermal fuse had blown open — a safety device that cuts power to the heater when temperatures exceed safe limits. The root cause was a warped heating element creating hot spots and triggering the thermal protection. The cycling thermostat was also reading out of specification, likely damaged by the overheating event.

Repair: Work: Removed rear panel, disconnected wiring, installed new thermal components and heater assembly · Parts: 279973 high-limit thermal fuse, WP3387747 heating element, cycling thermostat · Result: Full heat output restored, normal dry times verified on test load

Frigidaire range/oven (FEF366ESH) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the front-left burner wouldn’t heat at all. When they tried to use it, nothing happened — no glow, no warmth, completely dead. This left them with only three working burners on their electric cooktop.

Diagnosis: We found the LF surface element had failed due to severe corrosion at the terminal connection. The corroded lead wouldn’t maintain contact with the element, creating an open circuit. Continuity testing confirmed the element was dead, while voltage checks showed the infinite switch and 240V supply were working correctly. The corrosion had eaten through the terminal connection completely.

Repair: Work: Replaced corroded burner element and repaired terminal connection · Parts: 316135401 — LF surface element · Result: Front-left burner heats evenly; all four burners now functional

Frigidaire dryer (GLEQ2152ES0) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dryer would start normally but quit running after only a few minutes. The right-side indicator lights would flash and the display showed Ad — Frigidaire’s code for an internal fault. Clothes came out damp and the unit wouldn’t complete a cycle.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the heating element was completely open — no continuity on the meter. The rear drum bearing showed excessive play and wear, while the drive belt was frayed and the idler pulley felt rough when turned by hand. These worn components were creating enough resistance to trigger the dryer’s protection system, causing the shutdown and error display.

Repair: Work: Disassembled drum, installed new bearing assembly, replaced heating element and drive components · Parts: 131553900 heating element assembly, 5304457724 bearing kit with belt and idler pulley · Result: Dryer heats properly and completes full cycles without error codes or flashing lights

Samsung dishwasher (DW7933LRASR/AA) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their Samsung DW7933LRASR/AA dishwasher had Heavy and Smart Auto indicator lights flashing on the control panel. The unit would fill and drain properly, but no wash cycles would run. The flashing lights indicated the control board was detecting inconsistent water level readings from the sensor assembly.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the fill and drain functions worked normally, but the water level sensor was giving erratic readings. We found debris blocking the case brake water level sensor chamber and partially obstructing the hose connection to the sump. This blockage prevented the sensor from accurately detecting water levels, triggering the error condition and cycle lockout.

Repair: Work: Cleared case brake chamber and hose to sump of debris · Parts: None required · Result: Normal fills and cycles with no error lights

Whirlpool refrigerator (ED5FVGXSS03) — Alliance, OH

Whirlpool refrigerator (ED5FVGXSS03) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their refrigerator and freezer weren’t staying cold, with temperatures fluctuating unpredictably. The unit would cycle on and off randomly rather than maintaining steady operation, causing concern about food spoilage and safety.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the cold control thermostat was only engaging sporadically when adjusted, creating inconsistent temperature control. The compressor and fans operated normally when the control did engage, confirming the cooling system itself was sound. The root cause was isolated to the failed cold control thermostat, which had developed intermittent contacts that prevented reliable operation.

When it fails in the open position, it prevents the heating element from receiving power entirely. The rest of the dryer was operating correctly, and the heat element and idler pulley looked good.

Repair: Work: Removed old failed thermostat from blower housing and installed new replacement · Parts: DC47-00016A — high limit thermostat · Result: Dryer now heats properly and dries clothes completely

LG dishwasher (LDS5040ST) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The dishwasher would turn on but would not start its wash cycle. After turning on, it would then turn off completely, leaving the customer unable to run any cleaning cycles.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed that the dishwasher needed a new user interface board and possibly a motor. When multiple major components fail simultaneously, it often indicates the appliance has reached the end of its reliable service life.

Repair: Result: No repair performed due to cost considerations

Maytag Washer; dryer (WASHER AWN311SP111TW01. DRYER MDG4000BWW) — Paris, OH

Reported: The customer reported that water intake was slow on their Maytag washer. They also suspected the belt was worn out on the dryer, indicating it likely wasn’t tumbling clothes effectively.

Diagnosis: The washer’s slow water intake pointed to clogged inlet screens — a common issue that restricts water flow. On the dryer, inspection confirmed the belt was indeed worn and needed replacement along with supporting components that showed wear.

Repair: Work: Cleaned washer screens, installed new gas line, belt, one roller and drum slides on the dryer · Parts: WP33002535-V-BELT, 12001541-SUPPORT, 306508-KIT-BEARNG · Result: Both units restored to proper operation

GE washer (GTW460ASJ6WW) — Salem, OH

GE washer (GTW460ASJ6WW) — Salem, OH

Reported: The customer couldn’t get their washer to start any cycle. No matter how firmly they closed the lid, the control panel acted like it was still open. They had tried to find the replacement part locally but couldn’t locate the correct lid lock assembly for this specific GE model.

Diagnosis: The lid lock assembly on this GTW460ASJ6WW had failed internally. When we pulled the top panel and accessed the lock mechanism, our continuity test showed it was completely open — no electrical connection at all. The strike plate and latch aligned properly, and the wiring harness to the lock checked out fine. This is a straightforward mechanical failure where the internal contacts in the lock assembly wear out over time.

Repair: Work: Removed old lid lock assembly, installed new lock mechanism, reconnected wiring harness · Parts: WH08X31577 — lid lock service kit · Result: Washer now recognizes when lid is closed and starts cycles normally

LG washer (WM2301H) — Uniontown, OH

LG washer (WM2301H) — Uniontown, OH

Reported: The LG WM2301H washer would start its wash cycle normally but struggled when it came time to drain. The OE error code appeared consistently, and you could hear the machine working harder than usual during what should have been the drain phase. Even after the customer cleared the pump filter and checked for drain blockages, water remained standing in the drum.

Diagnosis: Our diagnostic process confirmed the OE error wasn’t related to external drainage issues. The pump filter was clean, and the drain hose showed no obstructions or kinks. However, when we tested the drain pump assembly, we found correct voltage reaching the motor but no actual water movement. The impeller was making noise but generating weak flow — classic signs of internal pump motor failure in this LG model.

Repair: Work: Removed old pump assembly, installed new motor unit, reconnected electrical connections and drain lines · Parts: 4681EA2001T — drain pump motor assembly · Result: Full drain cycle completed without error codes, smooth and quiet operation restored

Frigidaire refrigerator (Lfht1831qf1) — Uniontown, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their Frigidaire refrigerator needs a new seal on the freezer. The existing gasket was no longer maintaining an effective seal around the freezer door.

Diagnosis: Inspection confirmed the freezer door gasket had deteriorated and lost its sealing ability. The rubber seal was allowing cold air to escape, forcing the refrigerator to work harder to maintain temperature.

Repair: Work: Replaced the freezer gasket · Parts: 242193209 — freezer door gasket · Result: Freezer door now seals properly with no air leaks

Admiral oven/stove (FFGF3054TSA) — Waynesburg, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their gas stove’s top burners light normally, but the oven does not heat up. This issue had just started that evening on a 2-year-old Admiral unit.

Diagnosis: We diagnosed a failed oven ignitor. The ignitor wasn’t generating enough heat to open the gas valve, preventing the oven from lighting and heating up while leaving the cooktop burners unaffected.

Repair: Work: Replaced the ignitor · Parts: 5303935066 — Ignitor oven kit with nut · Result: Oven preheated in 9 minutes and issue is resolved
