Repairs completed the week of January 5, 2026 across Akron, Alliance, Atwater, Canal Fulton, Canton, Carrollton and more.

Samsung refrigerator (RF261BEAEWW/AA) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported frost forming on the back wall inside the upper refrigerator. This type of frost buildup typically indicates issues with the defrost system allowing ice to accumulate on the evaporator coils.

Diagnosis: We found a frozen evaporator behind the back panel. The existing evaporator cover and heat element were not functioning properly, allowing ice buildup that prevented normal air circulation and temperature control.

Repair: Work: Replaced the evaporator cover, installed an updated heat element and cleared frozen evaporator · Parts: DA97-12609C — Cover Assembly Evap-Ref · Result: Normal defrost cycle restored with proper air circulation

Samsung dryer (DV48J7770EW/A2-00) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the dryer was still making sounds on and off, despite our previous service call. They reached out in the morning to let us know the noise issue persisted.

Diagnosis: During our inspection under the Samsung DV48J7770EW/A2-00, we found three plastic access plugs that had worked loose and were rattling during the dryer’s operation. These plugs are designed to cover service access points but can vibrate loose over time with normal use.

Repair: Work: Taped the three loose plastic access plugs with foil tape · Parts: No parts required · Result: All rattling eliminated, dryer operating quietly

Kenmore oven/stove (790.641940G) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported an F10 error code appearing on their Kenmore oven, and the unit wouldn’t heat at all. This error code typically indicates a control board malfunction that prevents the oven from operating properly.

Diagnosis: Testing confirmed the control board had failed, causing the F10 error and preventing the oven from heating. The control board manages all oven functions, so when it fails, the unit becomes completely inoperable.

Repair: Work: Installed new control board · Parts: 316557245 — Clock/Timer control board · Result: Preheat time 9 minutes, normal operation restored

Maytag washer (MVWX655DW1) — Atwater, OH

Reported: The customer called because their Maytag washer hub was stripped and not spinning out. The washer would fill and agitate but wouldn’t extract water from clothes during the spin cycle.

Diagnosis: The spin hub on the washer drum was stripped. We determined we were unable to get to it without breaking the washplate off, which would significantly increase the repair complexity and cost.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation of stripped spin hub · Parts: None · Result: Due to the cost of the repair, the customer decided to replace the machine

Admiral oven/stove (GLGFZ376FCA) — Canal Fulton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the oven was slow to ignite and when it came on it made a loud foomp sound with a little gas smell afterwards. The left front burner was also difficult to ignite, and sometimes the gas flame was more orange than blue in color.

Diagnosis: The bake igniter was weak and wouldn’t open the gas valve properly. This caused gas to build up before ignition, creating the delayed lighting and loud sound the customer experienced.

Repair: Work: Replaced igniter · Parts: 5303935066 — Ignitor oven kit with nut · Result: Oven is working fine and reaches 350°F in 11 minutes

Samsung dryer (DV42H5000EW/A3) — Canton, OH

Reported: The Samsung dryer was running but not producing any heat. What made this case interesting was that it wasn’t throwing any error codes, which can make diagnosis more challenging for homeowners trying to troubleshoot the issue themselves.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the thermal fuse failed. When a thermal fuse blows in Samsung dryers, it typically cuts power to the heating element as a safety measure. This prevents the dryer from overheating but leaves you with clothes that tumble but never get dry.

Repair: Work: Replaced heat element with thermal fuse and cycling thermostat · Parts: WPW10222771 — Element · Result: Good to go

GE washer (GTW460ASJ6WW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their GE washer won’t agitate during wash cycle or spin during spin cycle. This meant clothes weren’t getting properly cleaned and came out soaking wet at the end of cycles.

Diagnosis: Agitator hub is stripped at the transmission shaft; agitator no longer properly drives wash action. Belt and drive pulleys are saturated with gearcase oil. Gearcase is seeping oil (common on this platform); gearcase still operational but oil contamination has reduced belt friction. Oil-soaked belt is slipping, causing poor spin performance and cycle interruptions. The error history showed F3 (x8) – Locked rotor monitor (cycle canceled), F26 (x8) – Out of balance, final spin ended early, and F27 (x4) – Water accessibility fault (cycle canceled).

Repair: Work: Replace agitator components, drive belt, motor pulley, and transmission pulley/nut · Parts: No parts replaced · Result: Washer restored to proper agitation and spin operation

Repair: Work: Replaced evaporator fan · Parts: WR60X162 — FAN MOTOR · Result: Good to go

Whirlpool washer (LSQ8543JQ0) — Canton, OH

Reported: The washer will fill and drain but will not agitate. The machine would go through its cycles and drain water, but clothes weren’t getting washed because the agitator wasn’t moving.

Diagnosis: The couple are between the motor and transmission had broken. This kept the machine from spinning or agitating while in use. It would fill and go through the cycles and drain but not wash. Also the agitator dogs in the top of the agitator that prevent it from free spinning were broken.

Repair: Work: Installed a new coupler and replaced the agitator dogs · Parts: 285753A coupling and 80040 agitator dogs · Result: Machine now agitates and spins properly during wash cycles

Kenmore washer (KENMORE ELITE OASIS HE 110.28062800) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their washer’s drain/spin cycle was not working properly. The machine would fill and agitate normally but wouldn’t complete the drain and spin phases of the cycle.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the drain pump had failed and there were coins lodged under the wash plate. The coins were preventing proper water circulation and the faulty pump couldn’t remove water from the tub during the drain cycle.

Repair: Work: Replaced drain pump and cleaned coins out from under wash plate · Parts: W10536347 — water pump · Result: Washer completed full drain/spin cycle testing

Samsung washer (TOP LOAD WA48H7400AWv/A2) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Samsung washer was not spinning, though it pumps out but not spinning out. Clothes were coming out of the wash cycle still dripping wet, indicating the spin function had failed.

Diagnosis: During our examination of the washer, we discovered the tub is bent slightly. This structural damage prevents the drum from spinning properly during the extraction cycle, leaving clothes saturated with water.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation of spinning mechanism and tub assembly · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Identified bent tub as root cause of spin failure

LG dryer (DLE1001W) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that power was on and they could select a cycle, but when pressing start there were 3 click sounds from the rear and the dry cycle would not start.

Diagnosis: After testing the unit, we determined it needed a thermostat on the blower housing. The faulty thermostat was preventing the dryer from completing its start sequence despite having power and cycle selection capability.

Repair: Work: Customer opted to install the part himself · Result: Part sourced for customer installation

Samsung refrigerator (RF28HMELBSR/AA 04) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer’s Samsung RF28HMELBSR/AA refrigerator had a non-functioning ice maker. The ice maker doesn’t work was the straightforward complaint we received.

Diagnosis: The cc unit was not functioning and wouldn’t progress into wash. We found an F8E1 error code stored in the system. Manual testing seemed fine, and the unit went through auto test without issues. However, when we ran it for a while with the water valves on, it started out with good flow, but shortly into the test, the cold water supply petered out. The hot water seemed to be fine the entire time. We verified poor cold water flow to the laundry sink and kitchen sink as well.
