Samsung washer (WA40J3000AW/AA) — Canton, OH

Reported: When the customer started the wash, it wouldn’t draw any water into the washer. The machine would begin its cycle but no water would enter the tub, leaving clothes dry and unwashed.

Diagnosis: The customer’s water supply has very poor quality water. Both hot and cold water valves had failed as a result of the water quality issues, preventing any water from entering the washer during operation.

Repair: Work: Installed new hot and cold water valves · Parts: DC62-00311F water valve, DC62-30314V water valve · Result: The washer is operating correctly

Admiral oven/stove (STOVE) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their Admiral stove won’t heat up. This is a common symptom when the oven igniter fails to generate enough heat to open the gas valve.

Diagnosis: During our inspection, we confirmed the igniter had failed and was no longer functioning properly. The igniter is responsible for lighting the gas burner in the oven, and when it fails, the oven cannot heat up.

Repair: Work: Replaced igniter · Parts: 5303935066 — Ignitor oven kit with nut · Result: Stove restored to proper heating operation

Samsung refrigerator (FRENCH DOORS) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their refrigerator’s ice machine and water machine were not working. Both dispensing functions had failed, leaving the family without filtered water or fresh ice from their Samsung French door unit.

Diagnosis: We traced the water supply line to the basement and found the saddle valve was planning when turned all the way on. This type of valve failure prevents proper water flow to the refrigerator, cutting off both ice production and water dispensing. The issue required plumbing expertise beyond appliance repair.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed water supply issue in basement · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Referred customer to plumber for proper valve installation

Kenmore washer (110.29622800) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their washer filled with water and then stopped with no agitation. The machine would start its cycle normally but wouldn’t proceed past the fill stage.

Diagnosis: We found the lid switch had failed. This safety component tells the washer when the lid is properly closed, allowing the agitation cycle to begin. When it fails, the washer interprets the lid as open and stops the cycle after filling to prevent water from splashing out during agitation.

Repair: Work: Replaced lid switch · Parts: WP8318084 — lid switch · Result: Washer now completes full wash cycles with proper agitation

LG dishwasher (LDF5678ST) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dishwasher was not draining properly. Water was remaining in the bottom of the tub after cycles completed, leaving dishes sitting in dirty water.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that installers had kinked the drain hose. This created a blockage that prevented proper water drainage from the dishwasher during the drain cycle.

Samsung fridge (RS25J500DSR/AA) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that every couple of days, water comes from the freezer compartment on the fridge and runs onto the floor. This intermittent leaking was creating a mess and potential slip hazard in the kitchen.

Diagnosis: The rubber dust cap in the defrost drain tube was brittle and blocked with dust and lint. This blockage prevented proper drainage from the freezer’s defrost cycle, causing water to overflow and leak onto the floor instead of draining properly.

Repair: Work: Used steamer to clear the defrost drain tube passage up onto the trough in the freezer evaporator compartment, then installed an updated drain hose · Parts: DA82-01415A — Water Leakage Assembly · Result: This should prevent it from happening again

Whirlpool dryer (not sure) — Canton, OH

Reported: The hose needs connected. The existing connection between the dryer and wall vent was not properly established, preventing safe operation of the unit.

Diagnosis: The dryer required a new flexible transition line to connect from the dryer to the wall. The existing setup was not providing the proper ventilation connection needed for safe dryer operation.

Repair: Work: Installed new flex line from dryer to wall using Dryer Vent Wizard tubing · Parts: WFLX8-8 Safe Transition Hose · Result: Dryer should be good to go

Dacor oven/stove (ERD48SCH 7-1 -2003) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that a couple of the stove top burners don’t ignite consistently. This type of intermittent ignition issue typically points to failing igniters or gas valve components on ranges and cooktops.

Diagnosis: During our diagnostic process, we identified the components causing the ignition issues. However, we discovered a significant obstacle: the necessary parts are on national back order with no clear timeline for availability.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation completed · Parts: None – parts unavailable · Result: Unable to complete repair due to parts availability

Whirlpool washer (WTW5000DW1) — Canton, OH

Reported: This Whirlpool Bravo style washer wasn’t agitating properly. The customer noticed the wash plate possibly stripped, which would prevent the agitator from moving clothes through the wash water effectively.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed the wash plate needed replacement along with the gear case. The splines were worn on the shaft, which explained why the agitation had failed. This type of wear typically develops over years of regular use as metal components gradually lose their grip.

Whirlpool washer (wtw5000dw1) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported knocking and not spinning right on their Whirlpool washer. These symptoms pointed to potential issues with the motor assembly or drive components.

Diagnosis: We ran manual tests and calibration on the unit. The motor and hub were bad, and the board was not responding well in diagnostic mode. Multiple critical components had failed simultaneously.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic testing and calibration · Parts: No parts used — replacement recommended · Result: Customer advised to replace the machine

Frigidaire refrigerator (LGHN2844MF0) — Carrollton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Frigidaire refrigerator wasn’t staying cool enough. The fan seemed to be working though, which ruled out the most obvious issue.

Diagnosis: All the basic components of the refrigerator appeared to be operating as designed. However, we found the condenser coils were heavily covered with lint. This could easily cause a cooling issue like what the customer was experiencing.

Repair: Work: Cleaned the lint off the condenser coils with vacuum cleaner · Parts: None required · Result: Should cool decently from here on out if lint was the issue

Whirlpool refrigerator (ET18CHXJX0 0) — Columbiana, OH

Reported: The customer reported water accumulation on shelves especially on top shelves. This type of water buildup typically indicates drainage issues within the refrigerator’s defrost system.

Diagnosis: We found the defrost drain was plugged, preventing proper water drainage during defrost cycles. Additionally, the defrost drain heat probe had failed, which compromises the system’s ability to maintain proper drainage flow.

Repair: Work: Cleared plugged defrost drain and installed defrost drain heat probe · Parts: 819043-HEAT-PROBE — defrost drain heat probe · Result: Proper drainage restored, eliminating water accumulation on shelves

Admiral refrigerator (GALLERY FGUS2642LF2) — Dalton, OH

Reported: The ice/water dispenser switch/lever is not working. The customer couldn’t get ice or water from their Admiral refrigerator dispenser no matter how they pressed the lever.

Diagnosis: Took door apart and discovered condensation and ice build up behind dispenser lever. The accumulated ice and mineral deposits were preventing the lever from making proper contact with the switch mechanism. Nothing visibly wrong with ice door seal.

Repair: Work: Removed ice with a hair dryer and scraped off mineral build up · Parts: None needed · Result: Dispenser lever and switch returned to normal operation

Whirlpool microwave (WMH31017HZ11) — East Canton, OH

Repair: Work: Diagnostic and repair service · Parts: None · Result: Microwave restored to proper working condition

Maytag washer (MTW5800TW0) — East Rochester, OH

Maytag washer (MTW5800TW0) — East Rochester, OH

Reported: The homeowner reported their MTW5800TW0 would fill, agitate, and drain normally, but the spin cycle never started. Clothes came out dripping wet, requiring manual wringing or multiple spin attempts. The washer would advance through the cycle timer but the basket remained motionless during what should have been high-speed spin.

Diagnosis: We verified the motor and drive coupling were functioning correctly — the agitator moved freely during wash cycles. The issue was internal transmission failure. This gearcase assembly contains the clutch mechanism that switches between agitate and spin modes. When the transmission fails, it can no longer engage the clutch to lock the basket for spinning, even though the motor continues running.

Repair: Work: Removed old transmission, installed new gearcase, reassembled drive components · Parts: 3360629 — transmission gearcase assembly · Result: Completed full wash cycle with proper high-speed spin and water extraction

Whirlpool washer — East Rochester, OH

Whirlpool washer — East Rochester, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their cycle selector knob had broken off completely, making it impossible to operate the washer. The knob had separated cleanly from the control shaft, leaving just the metal post exposed on the front panel.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the plastic knob had fractured at its connection point to the control shaft. The underlying washer electronics and cycle selection mechanism were working perfectly — this was purely a mechanical failure of the knob itself. The break was clean with no damage to the control panel or shaft.

Repair: Work: Removed broken knob remnants, cleaned control shaft, installed new knob · Parts: WP8181859 — cycle selector knob · Result: Full cycle selection restored, all wash programs accessible

Admiral oven/stove (JB850ST1SS) — Elkton, OH

Reported: The customer reported a bad control board on their Admiral oven. The unit was not functioning properly due to the failed electronic control component.

Diagnosis: Our technician confirmed the control board had indeed failed. This is the main electronic component that manages the oven’s functions, and when it goes bad, the unit typically becomes unresponsive or operates erratically.

Repair: Work: Shipped new control board and installed replacement · Parts: WB27T11374 — Control Board T012 ELE · Result: Oven restored to proper operation with new control board

Whirlpool dishwasher (WDF310PLAT4) — Hanoverton, OH

Whirlpool dishwasher (WDF310PLAT4) — Hanoverton, OH

Reported: The homeowner reported that their Whirlpool dishwasher model WDF310PLAT4 had power to the control panel with all indicator lights functioning, but pressing any cycle buttons produced no response. The dishwasher appeared completely unresponsive despite having electrical power.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the control board was receiving proper voltage but failing to communicate with the dishwasher’s motor, pump, and other components. The electronic control board had suffered an internal failure, likely due to moisture exposure or normal component aging. While the display circuits still worked, the main processing circuits that control dishwasher operations had failed.

Repair: Work: Removed old control board, installed new unit, programmed cycle settings · Parts: W10804120 — electronic control board assembly · Result: Dishwasher responded normally to all cycle selections and completed full wash cycle

Samsung oven/stove (FTQ387LWGX/XAA) — Hartville, OH

Reported: The customer noticed their Samsung oven wasn’t reaching the set temperature. When they set it at 375 degrees, it would beep indicating preheat was complete at 325 degrees, then slowly climb to 350 degrees. Their thermometer was displaying a low reading and the oven was slightly low.

Diagnosis: The customer’s thermometer was displaying a low reading and the oven was slightly low. This indicated a calibration issue where the oven’s internal temperature sensor wasn’t aligned with the actual temperature inside the cooking chamber.

Repair: Work: Programmed an 8-degree offset adjustment · Parts: None required · Result: Oven now reaches proper temperature when set

Whirlpool oven/stove (WFG114SWQ1) — Homeworth, OH

Whirlpool oven/stove (WFG114SWQ1) — Homeworth, OH

Reported: The homeowner had recently converted their natural gas range to propane (LP) but found the burners weren’t functioning correctly afterward. The flames were unstable, and the oven wasn’t heating evenly. This is a common issue when LP conversion kits are installed without completing all the necessary calibration steps.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed three incomplete conversion adjustments. The low flame settings hadn’t been properly calibrated for propane’s different burn characteristics. The regulator was still set for natural gas operation, causing incorrect gas pressure. The air shutter also needed adjustment to achieve the proper air-to-gas mixture that propane requires for clean, efficient combustion.

Repair: Work: Adjusted low flame settings, switched regulator to LP operation, calibrated air shutter for proper propane combustion · Parts: None required · Result: Range now operates correctly with stable blue flames and even oven heating

Maytag refrigerator (MFF2558VEW7) — Homeworth, OH

Reported: The customer’s Maytag refrigerator made one batch of ice only after having the icemaker replaced the previous week. Despite the new icemaker installation, ice production had essentially stopped.

Diagnosis: Helen made ice since I replaced the icemaker last week. Found water valve coil open. For your temperature is warm. Around 15 to 20 on that wall. It’s possible it came out of defrost recently. I left my thermometer in there. She’ll check temperatures later this evening and tomorrow morning.

Repair: Work: Replace valve · Parts: WPW10498976 — Valve · Result: Unit filled and cycled. Good to go.

Maytag dryer (MED5801TW0) — Homeworth, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Maytag dryer was squealing and wouldn’t turn on. This combination of symptoms typically indicates a belt or pulley issue that prevents the drum from rotating properly.

Diagnosis: When we opened the dryer cabinet, we found the idler pulley had come off causing the dryer to quit spinning. This failure allowed the belt to slip and created the squealing noise the customer heard.

Repair: Work: I installed the dryer repair kit which included the four support rollers, the belt and the idler pulley. I also installed a new thermal fuse. · Parts: LAB-REPAIR APPLIANCE, WP3392519-FUSE-THRML, 4392067-REPAIR-DYR · Result: The dryer now operates normally with no squealing and proper drum rotation

Reported: The customer reported that their dryer timer don’t shut off and washer seems to not be spinning out clothes completely. This combination suggested potential issues with both appliances in the laundry pair.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the washer was spinning out like designed — no actual malfunction there. The dryer did need a new timer as suspected, confirming the customer’s observation about it not shutting off properly.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic evaluation of both appliances · Parts: None — customer chose not to proceed · Result: Customer took a different route and no longer needs repair

Maytag dryer (LDG8414AAE) — Leetonia, OH

Maytag dryer (LDG8414AAE) — Leetonia, OH

Reported: The homeowner reported their LDG8414AAE was running full cycles but producing little to no heat. Medium loads were taking about 90 minutes and clothes felt cool when the door opened. The drum tumbled normally, but something was clearly wrong with the heating system.

Diagnosis: When we opened the front panel and observed the burner viewport during a cycle, no flame was visible. Testing the igniter showed it measured open circuit with high resistance — a clear failure. The gas valve coils were also weak and failing when they warmed up during operation. The exhaust airflow was strong and the vent path was clear, so the problem was definitely in the ignition system.

Repair: Work: Removed failed igniter and both gas valve coils, installed new components, reconnected gas line · Parts: 279311 igniter and 279834 gas valve coil pack · Result: Burner now lights quickly and cycles normally through the entire dry cycle

LG dishwasher (LDFN3432T) — Leetonia, OH

Reported: The dishwasher would trip the breaker shortly after the cycle started. The original outlet under the sink appeared burned, so a GFCI outlet was installed, but the unit still tripped after approximately one minute.

Diagnosis: The unit has a cord power supply with GFCI installed that was tripping when the unit tried to wash. Testing revealed the wash pump and other main components were not grounded properly. The GFCI cord itself was the source of the problem.

Repair: Work: Replaced power cord with non-GFCI version · Parts: Power cord (non-GFCI replacement) · Result: Unit washes and drains properly without tripping breaker

Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT730HAMZ0) — Louisville, OH

Reported: The customer reported leaking water out from under the toe kick. This type of leak typically occurs when water escapes from the dishwasher’s internal components and pools at the bottom of the unit, eventually finding its way out through the front panel.

Diagnosis: We removed the front panel and inspected the internal components of this WDT730HAMZ0 unit. The sump assembly showed clear signs of failure, with cracks allowing wash water to escape rather than being properly drained through the system.

Repair: Work: Replaced sump assembly · Parts: W11613480 — Sump · Result: Ran test cycle. All good. No leaks. One year warranty on parts, six month on labor.

Whirlpool dryer (WED4815EW1) — Louisville, OH

Reported: The customer reported the door latch broken on their Whirlpool dryer model WED4815EW1. This prevented the door from closing securely, which meant the dryer wouldn’t start its cycle.

Diagnosis: We examined the door mechanism and confirmed the catch component had failed. When the catch is broken, the door can’t engage properly with the strike, so the safety interlock won’t allow the dryer to operate.

Repair: Work: Replaced catch · Parts: W11429587 — catch · Result: Good to go. One year warranty on parts, six month on labor

Repair: Work: Replaced failed thermal fuse and verified proper vent flow · Parts: WP3392519 — thermal fuse · Result: Dryer heating function restored to normal operation

Viking refrigerator (Viking) — Malvern, OH

Reported: The customer reported that after a previous ice maker replacement, the unit was not working properly. The ice maker seemed to release ice and water, creating a block of ice in the bin instead of individual cubes.

Diagnosis: The icemaker that was replaced previously was overflowing. When we tried to adjust it, the unit didn’t respond to the adjustments, indicating a defective component that needed replacement.

Repair: Work: Removed the non-responsive overflowing icemaker and installed replacement unit · Parts: WPW10190965 — new icemaker assembly · Result: New icemaker properly cycles and produces individual ice cubes

Repair: Work: Replaced the belt · Parts: WPW10006384 — drive belt · Result: Operation is normal and symptoms are resolved

GE washer (WLW3300B) — Massillon, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer was not agitating properly. The machine would still spin and drain fine, but clothes weren’t getting the agitation motion needed for proper cleaning.

Diagnosis: We found the agitator was loose inside the wash basket. The splines — the plastic teeth that connect the agitator to the drive mechanism — had come off the original piece. Without these splines engaged, the agitator couldn’t transfer power from the motor to create the back-and-forth washing motion.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed loose agitator and stripped splines · Parts: None — agitator is no longer available · Result: Customer advised of discontinued part availability

Frigidaire oven/ stove (FGS366ECD) — Minerva, OH

Frigidaire oven/ stove (FGS366ECD) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The homeowner reported their Frigidaire FGS366ECD gas range had two major issues: the oven wouldn’t heat up no matter how long they waited, and the front right burner was having trouble igniting consistently. Both problems were making daily cooking frustrating and unreliable.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the bake igniter was glowing but not pulling sufficient amperage to signal the gas valve to open. This is a classic igniter failure pattern — the element appears to work visually but lacks the electrical draw needed for proper operation. We also found the front right burner assembly had accumulated debris that was interfering with ignition, and several surface igniters needed thorough cleaning.

Repair: Work: Replaced faulty bake igniter, installed new burner assembly, cleaned all surface igniters · Parts: 5303935066 — Bake igniter kit with hardware · Result: Oven heated to temperature properly, all burners ignited immediately on first attempt

Reported: The customer reported no heat during wash or dry cycle. Dishes weren’t getting properly cleaned without hot water, and they remained wet at the end of the cycle since the heated dry wasn’t working either.

Diagnosis: The board had a heat circuit error code stored. This error was preventing the dishwasher from activating its heating element for both washing and drying functions. The control board was protecting the heating circuit by shutting it down when it detected what it thought was a fault condition.

Repair: Work: Reset the error code and ran unit through a test cycle · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Unit operating correctly after error code reset

GE washer (WLSR3000G1WW) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer reported their GE washer won’t spin. Clothes were coming out completely saturated with water, indicating the spin cycle wasn’t engaging at all.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the motor shifter had failed internally, preventing the transmission from shifting into spin mode. The drive belt was also severely worn and had stretched, contributing to the mechanical failure. When the shifter can’t engage properly, the washer gets stuck in wash mode and never transitions to the high-speed spin that removes water from clothes.

Repair: Work: Installed a new motor shifter and belt · Parts: WH38X10017 — washing machine shaft and WH01X10302 — belt (6 rib) · Result: Machine is good to go

Whirlpool Dryer; dishwasher (WED4800XQ0) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dryer stopped heating and suspected maybe the element was the issue. They also had a dishwasher that won’t drain and couldn’t hear the pump running.

Diagnosis: I physically checked the entire heat circuit which passed. Visual inspection of heat element also passed, ruling out the suspected heating element failure. The real culprit was a faulty dryer timer. For the dishwasher, I found broken glass jammed in the drain pump impeller, preventing it from operating and causing the drainage issue.

Repair: Work: Replaced faulty timer, removed standing water from dishwasher and cleared the pump impeller · Parts: WPW10185982 — dryer timer, 49621 — leveling feet, W10282479 — Affresh dishwasher cleaner · Result: Dryer heating restored, dishwasher draining properly

Kenmore refrigerator (106.51763510) — Minerva, OH

Reported: The customer explained that initially the ice maker would occasionally not dispense ice when putting a cup to the through the door location, so they would just get the ice out of the ice maker inside the freezer. Eventually it quit making the ice also, though the water dispenser works.

Diagnosis: We found that the wires through the door hinge were broken. This is a common issue with Kenmore and Whirlpool side by side refrigerators where the constant opening and closing of the freezer door eventually causes the wiring harness to fail.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed broken door hinge wiring · Parts: None — repair required freezer door assembly replacement · Result: Customer informed that repair would require freezer door assembly replacement

Maytag refrigerator (MFI2269vew1) — North Canton, OH

Reported: On Tuesday, the customer’s daughter noticed that things in the freezer were not frozen. By Wednesday morning, the refrigerator portion wasn’t cooling either. The whole unit had stopped cooling completely.

Diagnosis: During our first visit on January 21st, the fridge was operating correctly when we arrived. We checked for errors in the components and found them good, then cleaned lint and dust from the rear compartment. The circuit board passed visual inspection.
