Reported: The customer reported squeaking from rollers, with the rear roller producing the worst noise. This type of squeaking typically indicates worn drum support components that allow the drum to move improperly during operation.

Diagnosis: Inspection revealed worn support rollers that were no longer providing smooth drum rotation. The belt and idler pulley also showed signs of wear. During disassembly, we found the heat element needed replacement as well.

Repair: Work: Installed new belt, idler pulley and 4 support rollers from repair kit. While it was apart, replaced the heat element also. · Parts: DC97KIT4 — Roller Kit, DC97-14486A — Assembly Duct Heater · Result: Dryer operates quietly with proper drum support and heating function restored

Whirlpool fridge (KRFF507ESS00) — North Canton, OH

Reported: The refrigerator stopped working again last night. The customer tried to unplug it for 10 minutes and then plug it back in. It seems like the same issue as the first time where that control panel for the middle drawer wasn’t working.

Diagnosis: This was a return service call for a recurring control panel issue with the middle drawer on this Whirlpool KRFF507ESS00. The customer had attempted a basic reset by unplugging the unit, but the control panel remained unresponsive.

Repair: Work: Service call scheduled for February 8, 2021 · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Technician dispatched to address recurring control panel malfunction

Whirlpool Dryer; refrigerator (WED4800XQ0) — Salem, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Whirlpool dryer sounded like tennis balls in it during operation. This type of noise typically indicates worn drum support components that are no longer providing smooth rotation.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the drum support system had deteriorated. The belt, support rollers, and idler pulley were all showing signs of wear that would cause the rattling, thumping sounds the customer was hearing.

Repair: Work: Installed the complete dryer maintenance kit · Parts: 4392065 — dryer maintenance kit (belt, four support rollers, idler pulley) · Result: Dryer now operates quietly with proper drum support

GE washer (GLWP2000M0WW) — Sebring, OH

Reported: The customer reported their GE washer won’t spin and water drips. These symptoms typically indicate an issue with the water control system preventing proper cycle completion.

Diagnosis: Our inspection found the water valve assembly had failed. This component controls water flow into the washer and when it malfunctions, it can prevent the spin cycle from engaging while allowing water to leak through the system.

Repair: Work: Replaced water valve assembly · Parts: WH13X23974 — water valve assembly · Result: Operation is normal

GE washer (GUD27ESSM1WW) — Uniontown, OH

Reported: The washer stopped mid-cycle while washing a coat, leaving clothes soaking wet. It would not spin and the customer reported a burning or overheated smell, though no active heat was felt. The customer suspected a belt or clutch issue.

Diagnosis: We found a stored error code for locked rotor. All functions passed test with Smart HQ diagnostics. The issue was caused by the customer not using the bulky cycle setting when washing the coat.

Repair: Work: Cleared error code and tested all functions · Parts: None · Result: All functions passed test with Smart HQ

JennAir cook top/griddle (Griddle 2365ERS) — Uniontown, OH

Reported: The customer reported that they tried cleaning under the element on their Jenn Air griddle and something came loose. This type of damage typically happens when cleaning around delicate electrical components without proper care.

Diagnosis: The electrical connection was broken off of the heat element. This isn’t a standard replacement part situation — the damage required a specialized solution since the connection point was compromised.

Repair: Work: Replaced the damaged heat element with a custom-built unit · Parts: Custom element from JES Enterprise in California · Result: Griddle restored to full working condition

GE washer (GTW220ACK6WW) — Waynesburg, OH

Reported: The washer will not drain. Customer also mentioned won’t spin, likely related to drain issue. These symptoms pointed to a cycle interruption preventing the machine from completing its wash program.

Diagnosis: Found out of Balance error displayed on the machine. This error was causing the washer to halt its drain and spin cycles as a safety measure. The issue appeared to be software-related rather than a mechanical failure.

Repair: Work: Installed software update to resolve · Parts: No parts replaced · Result: Balance error cleared, normal drain and spin function restored

Frigidaire freezer (FFFH20F2QWC) — Waynesburg, OH

Reported: The customer reported sporadic operation with their Frigidaire freezer. The unit would work inconsistently, creating concerns about food safety and energy efficiency.

Diagnosis: Our diagnostic revealed the cold control thermostat was failing. This component regulates the freezer’s temperature cycling, and when it malfunctions, it causes the sporadic operation the customer experienced.

Repair: Work: Provided repair quote for replacing cold control thermostat · Result: Customer received detailed estimate for the necessary repair

Frigidaire range (FGS365ECA) — Youngstown, OH

Reported: The customer called because their Frigidaire range oven wasn’t heating at all. The unit would power on, but no heat was being generated in the oven cavity.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed no power from main board to igniter. The main control board had failed and was not sending the necessary signals to operate the oven’s heating system. Unfortunately, this board is no longer available (nla) from Frigidaire.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed main board failure · Parts: No parts replaced · Result: Customer advised to replace unit due to unavailable parts
