Diagnosis: We defrosted and pulled the unit out to access the drain system. The drain hose was indeed blocked, preventing water from the automatic defrost cycle from draining properly. This caused ice buildup in the freezer compartment and eventual overflow onto the kitchen floor.

Kenmore oven/stove (790.97429901) — Canton, OH

Reported: While operating the oven, the customer heard a buzz and black smoke came up from the back of the stove. When they pulled it out, they discovered the fuse block was melted and burnt. The oven lights would not shut off, the timer does not work, and the oven doesn’t work. The husband disconnected the fuse, leaving them able to use only the stovetop and clock.

Diagnosis: The bake element connection on the board was loose and burnt the board. This loose connection created excessive heat and resistance, ultimately destroying the control board and causing the multiple system failures the customer experienced.

Samsung dryer (DV40J3000EW/A2) — Canton, OH

Diagnosis: The idler pulley had failed, causing the dryer to squeal constantly while operating. This is a very common issue with Samsung dryers.

Maytag washer — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Maytag washer was leaking water. This was the same unit we had serviced before with a door gasket replacement.

Diagnosis: After testing the unit, we determined the clock/control board had failed. This component controls power distribution to the heating elements, which explains why both the baking and broil elements stopped working simultaneously.

Diagnosis: The thermal fuse needed reset. This safety component had tripped due to insufficient airflow caused by a plugged vent system. When airflow is restricted, heat builds up inside the dryer cabinet, causing the thermal fuse to open the circuit as a protective measure.

Whirlpool washer (Cabrio WTW8000) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer moved locations and when installing their washer, they over-tightened the inlet valve for the hot water line causing them to strip it which was now leaking a little bit. They had the inlet valve from Whirlpool directly and were looking for someone to help install it.

Diagnosis: The connection on the water valve was stripped when it was installed in the new home. This is a common issue when moving appliances — the threading can be delicate and over-tightening during hookup destroys the seal.

Repair: Work: Replaced the water valve and recalibrated the machine since they had just moved it · Parts: Water valve (customer-supplied Whirlpool part) · Result: No more leaking, washer properly calibrated for the new location
