Checked: meter drive cable for free movement (found seized/corroded), meter housing and impeller for scale buildup, full manual regen cycle through all stations (backwash, brine draw, rinse, refill) to confirm valve/motor/cam mechanics were sound, resin condition assessed via salt product history rather than a fouling test.

Resolution: broke loose heavy lime scale on the meter housing and cable path (caused by a long-term drip from the line above landing directly on it), freed the corroded cable, soaked meter housing/impeller in warm citric acid to clear remaining scale, reassembled, and ran a manual regen to confirm gallon countdown, auto-trip, and reset all function together again post-repair.

Outstanding: drip source in the line above the unit still needs repaired to prevent recurrence.
