A Frigidaire refrigerator in Mineral City was building up condensation inside and losing cooling ability, with the problem getting noticeably worse over several days. Samuel visited the home on Hillside Dr and traced both symptoms to a door that wasn’t sealing correctly. A hinge adjustment and a gasket flip got the unit back to proper operation with no parts needed.
The Problem
Sometime last week I started to notice it and it’s progressively getting worse
So I guess the inside top of my fridge is accumulating a bunch of condensation and isn’t getting as cold as it should. The freezer is on top so I don’t know if it would also be a freezer issue
The Repair
Found door on refrigerator not sealing well. Door was out of adjustment and dragging on bottom of fridge opening. I moved the hinge bushings from the bottom of the freezer door to the bottom of the fridge door. This took care of the dragging issue. The door gasket still was not sealing well on the bottom left-hand side. I flipped the gasket 180° and it is now sealing perfectly fine. Good to go.
