LG Oven/Stove Repair (Model LDE3037ST/00) – Massillon, OH

A customer in Massillon called when their LG electric range’s left front burner suddenly stopped working. We diagnosed the issue as a failed control board — even after installing a new burner element, the unit remained non-functional.

The Problem

The left front burner on this LG electric range would not heat at all. The customer had already tried basic troubleshooting, but the burner remained completely unresponsive. Other burners were working normally.

Diagnosis

We first tested the burner element itself and found it was actually fine. However, when we installed a known-good replacement element, the burner still wouldn’t function. This pointed directly to the main control board — the PCB assembly that sends power to the surface burners had failed internally. The control board wasn’t sending the proper signals to activate the left front burner circuit.

The Repair

  • Parts replaced: EBR73821007 — PCB Assembly Main (control board)
  • Work performed: Removed old control board, installed replacement, reconnected all wiring harnesses
  • Result: Left front burner now heats properly, all temperature settings functional

Is It Worth Repairing?

This LG model is a solid mid-range electric range that typically lasts 12-15 years with proper care. Control board failures are common around the 7-10 year mark, but once replaced, the unit usually runs reliably for several more years. For a range this age, the repair makes good financial sense.

Maintenance Tips for LG Electric Ranges

  • Clean spills from the cooktop immediately — acidic foods can damage the glass surface and seep into control components
  • Use proper cookware with flat bottoms that match burner size to prevent overheating the elements
  • Keep the control panel dry — moisture can infiltrate and damage the electronic control board
