GE washer (GTW460ASJ9WW) — Beloit, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their washer is off balance, also will not complete wash cycle and move to spin/rinse/spin at times. These symptoms indicated potential issues with the suspension system and drive components.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed that the washer needs transmission, belt and all four suspension rods. The transmission failure was preventing proper cycle completion, while the worn suspension rods were causing the severe balance issues. The drive belt also showed signs of wear and slippage.

Whirlpool dryer (LGR4634JQ0) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their dryer doesn’t tumble. The drum would not rotate at all when the cycle started, leaving clothes sitting wet in the bottom of the tub.

Diagnosis: Opening the dryer cabinet revealed the belt had broken completely. This is the drive belt that wraps around the drum and connects to the motor pulley system. Without it, the motor runs but can’t turn the drum.

Reported: The customer reported that the washers doesn’t work and mentioned there were three total units affected. This is a common issue with commercial coin-operated washers where either the coin mechanisms aren’t set properly or mechanical components like lid locks fail over time.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that all three washers and dryers needed their coin mechanisms reset to the proper price point. Additionally, one of the washers had a faulty lid lock assembly that prevented it from operating even when coins were inserted correctly.

Diagnosis: We found the defrost drain was plugged, preventing melted frost from draining during defrost cycles. Additionally, there was a butt connector on the defrost thermostat that came loose, which would disrupt the defrost cycle timing and allow ice to accumulate.

Reported: The power is on and it lights up. It won’t start though. The customer wasn’t sure if it could sense the door was closed or opened.

Diagnosis: The DC harness was definitely damaged and had been chewed up by mice or something. However, after replacing the damaged harness, the symptoms were still present, indicating the main control board had also failed.

LG washer (WM3170CW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their boot was leaking and had attempted to research the repair themselves. After watching instructional videos, they decided the complexity of replacing a door boot made it a job for professional technicians.

Diagnosis: We found the door boot was indeed leaking and needed replacement. The hinge assembly also required replacement to complete the repair properly and ensure long-term reliability.

They had replaced the ice maker about that time trying to fix the problem, but it obviously didn’t work.

Diagnosis: The water valve assembly had failed again, causing continuous water flow to the ice maker. Even though the customer had replaced the ice maker itself, the problem wasn’t with the ice maker — it was with the water valve that controls flow to it.

Samsung dryer (DV400EWHDWR/AA) — Louisville, OH

Reported: The customer reported that it goes around but does not heat. The dryer would run through its cycles and the drum would rotate, but clothes remained wet at the end of each cycle due to the lack of heat generation.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed that the heat element had failed. When a dryer heating element burns out, the unit will continue to tumble clothes but cannot generate the hot air needed for proper drying. We also identified that the idler pulley needed replacement during this service.

Diagnosis: I found that the defrost drain tube in the freezer compartment had worked loose. When the fridge ran the automatic defrost cycle, the water just drained onto the floor instead of going where it was supposed to.

Admiral washer (FTF2140ES0) — Malvern, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer won’t wash clothes. It lets you start the washer but after that it won’t actually wash it. It won’t even start the washer load just lets you hit start and that’s it.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the main control board had failed. This component manages all the washer’s functions — when it fails, the machine might accept input commands but won’t execute the actual wash cycles.

Whirlpool washer (TAWS800JQ1) — Malvern, OH

Reported: The customer reported their oven won’t light. This prevented them from using their gas oven for cooking.

Diagnosis: Our technician found that the pilot light had extinguished. This is the root cause when gas ovens fail to ignite properly.

Samsung refrigerator (RF263AEBP/XAA-00) — Minerva, OH

Diagnosis: The transmission shift was corroded and had stripped out the spin basket hub. This type of corrosion damage prevents the spin basket from maintaining proper engagement with the transmission, causing the intermittent spinning pattern the customer experienced.
