Diagnosis: We diagnosed a failed pressure sensor that was not communicating proper water level readings to the control unit. Additionally, the capacitors on the CCU (Central Control Unit) had deteriorated, causing intermittent electrical faults that prevented the spin cycle from engaging.

Diagnosis: During our inspection, we found that the supply electrical to the oven had a loose connection in it. Since this electrical connection was not part of the stove itself, it fell outside the scope of appliance repair and into electrical work territory.

Please note that we heard the refrigerator fan making strange noises some weeks ago. We forgot about that since I had to be admitted to the hospital for a heart condition for over a week.

Diagnosis: The strange fan noises from weeks earlier were warning signs of evaporator system failure. With the freezer maintaining proper temperature but the refrigerator compartment warming, we identified problems with the evaporator cover assembly, defrost sensor, and water leakage components that required immediate replacement.

Diagnosis: The fresh food evaporator drain was obstructed with ice. Also, the fan was frozen up. Additionally, the ice maker was leaking and not functional, requiring replacement as well.

Reported: The customer called because thick snow was coating the freezer walls, shelves, and food packages. This wasn’t just light frost — it was heavy accumulation that made the freezer nearly unusable. The temperature was inconsistent, with some areas too warm and others creating ice blocks.

Diagnosis: The freezer evaporator fan assembly was dead. This fan pulls cold air across the evaporator coils and circulates it throughout the freezer compartment. Without it running, cold air sits stagnant behind the back panel while warm, humid air enters through normal door openings. That moisture has nowhere to go, so it freezes wherever it lands — creating the snow buildup the customer was seeing.

Diagnosis: I removed the freezer’s interior panels to access the ice chute assembly. The ice passage door — the plastic flap that opens and closes to allow ice through — had developed stress cracks around the hinge points. These cracks prevented the door from sealing shut, disrupting the air pressure needed for proper ice flow and allowing freezer air to leak into the dispenser chute.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the evaporator fan ran but rpm varied. This inconsistent motor speed prevented proper air circulation through the refrigerator compartment, triggering the SY EF error code while the freezer continued operating normally.
