Admiral refrigerator (GFE28GNKBES) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The refrigerator was not holding temp. Food wasn’t staying cold, and the fresh food section couldn’t maintain proper temperature despite the unit running.

Diagnosis: We identified a failed evaporator fan. The DC evaporator fan (part WR60X26866) had stopped working, which meant cold air wasn’t circulating properly through the fresh food compartment.

Repair: Work: Replaced the fridge evaporator fan · Parts: WR60X26866 — DC evaporator fan for fresh food compartment · Result: Issue is resolved and operation of the refrigerator is normal

GE dishwasher (Nautilus) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported there was an electric burning smell when running the dishwasher. The unit also was not cleaning dishes like it should.

Repair: Work: Removed plastic debris from heating element and ran afresh dishwasher cleaner through the unit · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Burning smell eliminated and proper cleaning cycle restored

Kenmore washer (TOPLOAD 11020022013) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Kenmore washer was making noise and wouldn’t spin. The lid lock light was flashing, indicating the machine couldn’t complete its cycle.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found the motor bearings had failed completely. This type of failure typically creates grinding noises and prevents the drum from spinning properly, which explains both the noise complaint and the spinning issue.

Repair: Work: Diagnostic assessment of motor bearing failure · Parts: None — customer chose replacement · Result: Customer decided to replace the machine rather than repair

Estate dryer (EED4400SQ0) — Beloit, OH

Reported: The customer reported their Estate dryer won’t run at all. No matter what settings they tried or how many times they pressed the start button, nothing happened. The unit was completely unresponsive.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed a blown thermal fuse, which had cut power to protect the dryer from overheating. Further inspection showed the heating element had also failed, likely the root cause that triggered the thermal fuse to blow in the first place.

Repair: Work: Replaced the thermal fuse and heating element · Parts: 279838-ELEMENT — heating element, WP3392519-FUSE-THRML — thermal fuse · Result: Dryer now starts and runs through all cycles normally

Kenmore dryer (Medb850wl1) — Canton, OH

Reported: The dryer no longer turned on and made a clicking sound when the start button was pushed but didn’t turn over. The customer thought it might be a fuse problem.

Diagnosis: After opening the unit, we found the drive belt had snapped. When a dryer belt breaks, the drum can’t rotate even though the motor tries to start, which creates that distinctive clicking sound as the motor engages but can’t turn the load.

Repair: Work: Replaced the belt · Parts: 661570V — Drive Belt · Result: Operation is normal

Maytag dryer (MDE12CSACL) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that 2 dryers, same model are not heating. Fridge is leaking water. Both Maytag dryers were running but producing no heat, while the refrigerator was creating water puddles.

Reported: The customer reported that their washer drains but not spinning the water out. This meant clothes were coming out soaking wet at the end of wash cycles, making the machine essentially unusable for normal laundry.

Diagnosis: When running the wash machine in the manual test mode, I found that it would try to start with the agitation. But it was not shifting out of spin and so that would error out. The shift actuator on it had failed, preventing the washer from transitioning between wash and spin cycles properly.

Repair: Work: Replaced the failed shift actuator · Parts: W10913953 — Shift Actuator · Result: It is washing and spinning correctly and successfully passed an automatic wash test

KitchenAid dishwasher (KDTE254ESS1) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the key pad for the cycles does not appear to be working correctly. It was difficult to cancel a cycle and the dishwasher would continue to beep even when the cycle was supposed to have been cancelled.

Diagnosis: The high limit thermostat had tripped. I found quite a bit of lint buildup covering the cycling thermostat heat probe. It appears that this was causing cycles with higher than normal operating temperatures, triggering the safety shutdown.

Repair: Work: Cleared the lint buildup from around the cycling thermostat heat probe · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Dryer restored to normal operation with proper flame ignition

LG dryer (DLEX3250W) — Canton, OH

Reported: The dryer was running hot and shutting off. It gave an error to check filter. The unit had never been cleaned internally or had maintenance.

Diagnosis: The outlet on the wall that the dryer was plugged into was not connected properly. This caused the dryer to randomly shut off.

Repair: Work: Rectified the outlet connection issue and cleaned out the lint screen housing while it was apart · Parts: No parts needed · Result: The clothes dryer is cycling properly with good heat function

Whirlpool refrigerator (ER2CHMXPL04) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their refrigerator’s icemaker was not producing ice. They mentioned we had previously repaired their dryer, showing the unit had been working normally before this issue developed.

Diagnosis: The icemaker had ice in it but wasn’t cycling. This meant the unit was stuck in one position and unable to complete its normal harvest and refill cycle, preventing new ice production even though the freezer temperature was adequate.

Repair: Work: Removed the old non-cycling icemaker and installed replacement unit · Parts: Complete icemaker assembly · Result: Verified that the new icemaker was filling with water and cycling properly

GE refrigerator (GTS18GTHFRWW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their refrigerator went out and was making loud noises while freezing items in the refrigerator section even on recommended settings. The unit was clearly struggling to maintain proper temperatures across both compartments.

Diagnosis: We found that the condenser fan was not running, which was causing the compressor to overheat. This created a cascade of problems affecting the unit’s ability to properly regulate temperatures. The cold control was also malfunctioning, contributing to the temperature regulation issues.

GE washer (WCSE3100A1WW) — Carrollton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that water will not drain from washer. This is a common issue that prevents the wash cycle from completing and leaves clothes sitting in dirty water.

Diagnosis: Our inspection revealed the drain pump had failed completely. When a washer won’t drain, the pump is typically the culprit — it’s responsible for forcing water out through the drain hose during the spin cycle.

Repair: Work: Replaced drain pump · Parts: WH23X10030 — washing machine pump · Result: Washer now drains completely during all cycles

Whirlpool washer (LSQ9544KQ0) — Carrollton, OH

Reported: The Whirlpool washer will not agitate. No cold water. The customer correctly anticipated needing agitator dogs and hoses likely.

Reported: The oven does not always achieve set temp and has shut off a couple times with all numbers flashing 8888888. This erratic behavior indicated an issue with the electronic control system managing the oven’s temperature regulation.

Diagnosis: The flashing 8888888 display is a classic symptom of control board failure in Admiral ovens. When the control board malfunctions, it loses the ability to properly regulate temperature and can cause the unit to shut down unexpectedly as a safety measure.

Repair: Work: Replaced the oven control board · Parts: WB27T11351 — Control Board T012 ELE · Result: Oven now maintains proper temperature control without error codes

Admiral standup freezer (FFFH17F2QWH) — Louisville, OH

Diagnosis: We found the transmission input shaft seal had deteriorated and was no longer containing the oil. Additionally, the nylon slides under the tub and agitator dogs showed wear that needed addressing during the repair.

Repair: Work: Replaced the transmission input shaft seal, the nylon slides under the tub and the agitator dogs · Parts: 285352-Seal-Oil, 80040-DOG-AGIT, 285744-Pad · Result: Oil leak eliminated, washer operating normally
