Louisville Appliance Repair recently completed a service call in Canton, OH, where a homeowner on 25th Street Northwest reported that their Samsung refrigerator, model RF28HFEDTSR/AA 02, was producing an intermittent grinding noise that sounded like a fan and stopped when the door was opened, along with a non-functioning top ice dispenser. Samuel visited the home and installed a new evaporator cover, defrost sensor, and drain probe, and noted that the top ice maker will require a Samsung service kit to operate correctly.
The Problem
It is making a grinding noise off and on. It sounds like a fan. It stops when I open the door. I don’t see any ice buildup, but if I thaw the fridge it stops for about two weeks and then slowly gets louder again. Also the top ice dispenser doesn’t work.
The Repair
Installed a new evaperator cover defrost sensor and drain probe. Top refrigerator ice maker will need the Samsung Service kit installed to operate correctly.
Parts replaced: DA97-12608A (cover assembly evap-ref); DA32-10104N (sensor temp); DA61-06796A (clip-drain evap samsung fridge heat probe-defrost); SHIPPING (expedited).
