Samuel was back on Lutz Ave NW in Massillon for a callback on a Bosch refrigerator that had resumed ice production after a July 3rd service call, then stopped again. Thorough diagnostics confirmed every supporting system was functional, pointing the fault squarely to the ejector drive inside the icemaker assembly, which was then replaced to restore production.
The Problem
Still not making ice.
The Repair
Bosch B36FD10ENS/01 (FD 0508) — callback, no ice production. Unit returned 7/15 for no ice following 7/3 SMM replacement; approximately 25 cubes in bin confirmed production resumed post-repair before stopping again. On arrival, mold empty and stuck mid-harvest with ejector motor running but fingers not rotating; rotation became intermittent during testing, consistent with a failing drive train inside the icemaker module. Fresh food verified 37°F and mold 13°F by IR. Full technical-mode diagnostics confirmed all supporting systems functional: FC, evaporator, mold, and surface sensors nominal with fill state reading correctly, hopper presence and door switches verified, ice compartment fan confirmed running, fill valve filling the mold, dispenser valve flowing, and hopper flap, crusher, and chute flap all actuating. With every input and load outside the module verified functional and the control board 12 days old, fault isolated to the ejector drive within the icemaker assembly. Replaced ice maker assembly. Customer also reported intermittent failure to dispense water when switching from ice to water mode; found household piercing valve at the water supply mostly closed — opened valve fully with flow improvement and recommended customer have a plumber inspect and replace the piercing valve with a proper shutoff. Power cycled unit before departure.
