Short answer: Amana major appliances come with a one-year limited warranty — parts and labor, from the date of delivery — and that's the whole story. No extended component coverage, no second layer of fine print. That simplicity cuts both ways: it's easy to know where you stand, and past that first year the repair decision is entirely yours. Here's how to check, and what to do either way.
What Amana's warranty actually covers
Amana's current major-appliance limited warranty (Whirlpool Corporation document W11655290A) is a single, flat term:
- One year from the date of delivery, parts and labor. Amana pays for factory-specified replacement parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship, when the appliance is installed, operated and maintained per the instructions.
- No extended component coverage. Unlike Maytag (10-year limited parts on select components) or KitchenAid (5-year sealed system), Amana's coverage ends at year one across the board — that's part of how the value brand stays the value brand.
- Warranty service goes through Amana's authorized service network, in-home, with proof of purchase required. Registration is not required — though Amana's Owner Center keeps your purchase date on file if you register.
- Using an independent repair shop does not void the warranty. Amana's warranty document states that use of unauthorized service providers or non-genuine parts will not void the coverage.
- The usual exclusions apply: consumables like bulbs and filters, cosmetic damage, improper installation or misuse, and units with a removed or altered serial number. U.S. and Canada only.
How to tell if yours is still covered
- Your receipt or delivery date. The one-year clock starts at delivery, so proof of purchase is the definitive answer — and you'll need it to claim warranty service.
- The manufacture date on the serial number. No receipt? Run the serial through our free Amana serial number lookup — it reads all three Amana date-code eras and tells you roughly how old the machine is. Comfortably over a year old means it's past warranty, no further checking needed.
- Amana's own records. If you registered the appliance, the Owner Center ties your model and serial to the purchase date on file.
If you're still under warranty
In-warranty repairs are arranged through Amana's authorized service network — contact Amana (or the retailer you bought from) to set up covered service. Tell us what's going on and we'll happily point you in the right direction — and if the machine is only just inside the window, or you'd rather not wait for a warranty appointment, we can usually get to it sooner on a straightforward out-of-pocket basis. No pressure either way.
If you're out of warranty (where most Amana owners are)
Once you're past that first year, this is exactly what we do — and Amana is a brand we genuinely like seeing on the schedule. These are simple, sturdy machines built on proven Whirlpool-family designs, which makes them inexpensive to fix: a dryer heating element, a washer lid switch, a refrigerator ice maker. A single failed part is almost always far cheaper than a new machine, even a new Amana. Louisville Appliance Repair services Amana across Stark County with OEM parts — see our appliance repair services, or schedule online and we'll give you an honest repair-vs-replace take before any work.
Who actually does the warranty work? (The short version)
While Amana is paying for parts and labor (the one-year warranty), the work goes through Amana's designated service network — we're not part of it and can't process those claims. Schedule it at service.amana.com or call 1-866-616-2664.

Amana warranty questions
How long is the Amana warranty?
One year from the date of delivery, covering factory-specified parts and repair labor. There is no extended component coverage after the first year on current Amana major appliances.
Does Amana have a 10-year warranty like Maytag?
No. The 10-year limited parts warranty is a Maytag program. Amana — the value brand in the same Whirlpool family — carries a flat one-year warranty with no component schedule after it.
How do I check if my Amana is under warranty without a receipt?
Use the serial number. Our free Amana serial number lookup reads the manufacture date off the tag — any of the three Amana date-code eras. If the machine is comfortably over a year old, it's past warranty; if it's close, text us a photo of the tag and we'll confirm.
Is an out-of-warranty Amana worth repairing?
Usually, yes. Amana machines are simple, proven designs that are inexpensive to fix, and a single failed part is almost always far less than the cost of a new machine. Call (330) 693-9163 or schedule online and we'll give you a straight answer before any work.
Does my Amana furnace or air conditioner have the same warranty?
No — Amana-brand heating and cooling equipment is made by Goodman, a different company, with its own (much longer) warranty programs. This guide covers Amana home appliances: refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges and dishwashers.
