Repair record › GE dryers
We've repaired 23 GE dryers for this problem between March 2019 and September 2026. This is what was actually wrong, counted from our own job records.
Of the 23 GE dryers we've repaired for "will not start", the most common cause was: timer knob broken (6 jobs, 26%), followed by main control board failed (4) and thermal fuse blown (2). The parts we replaced most often were timer knob, drive belt, main control board.
Seen once each: high limit thermostat failed, timer failed, drum bearings worn, power cord wired incorrectly, door switch failed.
One repair can replace more than one part, so these add up to more than the number of jobs.
