Repair record › Whirlpool dryers
We've repaired 55 Whirlpool dryers for this problem between July 2018 and January 2026. This is what was actually wrong, counted from our own job records.
Of the 55 Whirlpool dryers we've repaired for "not heating", the most common cause was: heating element burned out (29 jobs, 53%), followed by gas valve coils failed (6) and cycling thermostat failed (3). The parts we replaced most often were heating element, thermal cutoff, cycling thermostat.
Seen once each: high limit thermostat failed, heater terminal failed, drive motor switch failed, worn drum rollers and belt, thermal cutoff blown, tripped circuit breaker.
One repair can replace more than one part, so these add up to more than the number of jobs.
