On a service call to White Pine Ave NE in Hartville, Samuel diagnosed a no-heat condition on the left oven cavity of a Thermador PRD486WDGU/09 range. The fault traced to corrupted control board configuration, and a factory reset on both control modules restored full heating operation without any parts replacement.
The Problem
Left hand unit is not heating up
The Repair
Diagnosed no-heat/no-start complaint on left (small) oven, Thermador PRD486WDGU/09, FD 0403. Verified supply voltage, user interface, cavity lighting, door detect, and door lock operation normal. Entered Customer Service Mode: no stored error codes; component test showed all cavity 2 heat relays (DLB, bake, broil, ring) failing to actuate while convection fan relay and oven temperature sensor operated normally, isolating the fault to corrupted control board configuration rather than a failed load or thermal cutoff. Module reset and extended power cycle did not clear the fault. Performed factory reset on both control modules, which restored heat relay operation. Verified full function in all cavity 2 heating modes and confirmed cavity 1 unaffected. No parts replaced. Customer advised recurrence would indicate control module replacement.
