Most cooking-appliance calls come down to one part or one control, not a dead unit. Here’s what I see most often:
- Burner won’t light or won’t heat — gas or electric
- Oven won’t heat at all
- Uneven baking, or food cooking hotter on one side
- Oven temperature runs off from what you set
- Igniter clicking but not lighting
- Broiler not working
- Control-board or touchpad problems
- Self-clean cycle not working or leaving the oven locked
I work on gas and electric units — freestanding ranges, wall ovens, and cooktops. If yours is a GE, Whirlpool, or Bosch unit, I have specific pages for those brands — but I service every major make.
What to expect
I start by diagnosing the actual cause, not guessing at parts. An oven that won’t heat can trace back to a bake element, an igniter, a sensor, or a control problem — and each one is a different fix. When I know what’s wrong, I explain it to you in plain terms.
Then I give you an honest call on repair or replace. A good range is usually worth fixing, and a single part often beats buying a whole new unit. But if it isn’t worth fixing, I’ll tell you that too.
Most repairs are done in one visit. I use OEM parts, and completed repairs are backed by my own 6-month labor warranty.
