A Frigidaire dryer at a home on Devonshire Drive in Salem, OH had been giving its owner intermittent trouble, sometimes failing to start when the button was pressed, and eventually developing a rattling sound and a slight burning smell before refusing to start at all. Samuel visited the home and replaced the drive motor, belt, and bearing grease, and also refastened the heat element housing. The dryer was back in working order following the repair.
The Problem
Dryer would occasionally not push button start. Although always made sound like it was starting.
This morning it did not start.
Tried again this afternoon & it started but made a rattling sound & slight burning smell.
Turned off & then it would not start again.
The Repair
Replaced drive motor, belt and regreased the bearing. Also refastened the heat element housing.
Parts replaced: 131560100 (motor & pulley); 134503600 (belt dryer).
