Maytag Dryer Repair – Massillon, OH (MDG2600BWW, LGA30AW)

Louisville Appliance Repair recently made a service visit to a home on Stoner Ave NE in Massillon, OH, where two dryers needed attention. The Maytag MDG2600BWW had a suspected gas leak in the dryer itself, and the Amana LGA30AW was experiencing squeaking, noise, and a hot smell during use. After inspecting both units, Samuel found that the Maytag required a gas valve that was no longer available, and the Amana needed rollers, washers, a shaft, a belt, and an idler pulley, leading the customer to move forward with replacing both dryers.

The Problem

I need someone to give me an estimate and hopefully repair a gas leak somewhere in my drier line, please . We replaced all the gas lines from the gas input, capped it, tested w goop and a lighter, and don’t think we have a leak there, so figuring it’s after it connects to drier, aka drier issue. Like maybe a cracked pipe or connector in there.(Maytag, MDG2600BWW)

I bought this drier gently used 8 years ago, stored in my attached garage and just moved it to the basement and tried hooking it up for the first time recently.

I also still have the drier that we moved out the basement (which is in the garage, . Which I planned to get rid of but maybe you will tell me it’s easier to fix or a better dryer (Amana LGA30AW) We think that one is a belt and roller issue maybe? It was whistling/squeaking while running and just started to smell a little hot recently.

The Repair

Amana dryer need both rollers, washers, one shaft, belt, and idler pulley. Maytag dryer needs a gas valve which is not available.
