Kenmore washer (796.41182311) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported that they washed a blanket that came apart, and now the washer was full of lint and wouldn’t drain. The machine was unable to complete its cycle due to the drainage blockage.

Diagnosis: We found that lint from the disintegrated blanket had clogged both the drain filter and accumulated inside the spin basket. This debris was preventing water from draining properly during the wash and spin cycles.

Repair: Work: Cleared drain filter as well as lint from inside spin basket · Parts: No parts needed · Result: Washer is now operating correctly

Admiral washer (LNC6740A71, SERIAL 39K286379, AED4675YQ1.) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported that the washer had water coming in fine but does not cycle, and they had tried all the settings. The dryer also wasn’t doing its thing and wasn’t drying anything, so they suspected the heating element might be the issue.

Diagnosis: We found that the dryer was actually running and heating properly, but it had a plugged vent that was preventing proper airflow and drying performance. The washer issue traced back to a faulty timer that wasn’t advancing through the wash cycles.

Repair: Work: Cleaned out the plugged vent · Result: Dryer restored to proper drying performance; washer timer replacement scheduled

Admiral Refrigerator; range (STOVE. FGF326ASJ, TBX18JABARWW) — Akron, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their Admiral stove control panel falls in when pressed, making it difficult to operate. Additionally, their refrigerator doesn’t seal properly, which affects cooling efficiency and energy costs.

Diagnosis: On the stove (model FGF326ASJ), we found the control board and overlay needed replacement to fix the falling control panel issue. For the refrigerator (model TBX18JABARWW), the door was hanging improperly due to a loose bottom hinge where it fastens to the frame. The frame showed rust damage that prevented the hinge from tightening down securely, and the door seal also needed replacement.

Repair: Result: After our diagnostic visit, HPM confirmed warranty coverage would handle the necessary repairs

Amana refrigerator (AFI2538AEW4) — Alliance, OH

Reported: This Amana refrigerator was experiencing complete system failure with alarm, lights, not cooling, no water. When unplugged and plugged back in it turns on a bit then back off.

Diagnosis: The erratic power cycling and multiple system failures indicated main control board failure. The board was unable to maintain consistent operation, causing the refrigerator to lose cooling, water dispensing, and proper electrical function.

Repair: Work: Replaced the main control board · Parts: WPW10310240 — main control board · Result: All systems restored to normal operation

Maytag dryer (MGDC215EW1) — Alliance, OH

Reported: The customer reported their dryer turns on and spins but will not dry clothes. The unit was running through cycles normally but clothes were coming out still wet after full drying cycles.

Reported: The Samsung washer drum was constantly coming unbalanced and would not spin out. It looked unbalanced in the washing machine while idle. The Whirlpool dryer (model MEDX655DW1) was not heating properly and clothes were taking forever to dry.

Diagnosis: The Whirlpool dryer vent was heavily obstructed, which was causing the poor heating and extended dry times. For the Samsung washer, the constant unbalancing and failure to spin out pointed to most likely needing shock absorbers.

Repair: Work: Cleared the heavily obstructed dryer vent · Parts: No parts used · Result: Verified the dryer heat was not shorted and it was heating properly — operating great after vent cleaning

Samsung refrigerator (RF26XAERSXAA) — Atwater, OH

Reported: The customer reported their refrigerator was not cool enough and wouldn’t go below 58 degrees. This temperature is far too warm for safe food storage and indicates a serious cooling system problem.

Diagnosis: Inspection revealed a plugged defrost drain in the fridge compartment. When defrost drains become blocked, water can’t properly evacuate during defrost cycles, leading to ice buildup and airflow restrictions that prevent proper cooling. The evaporator cover was also damaged and needed replacement.

Repair: Work: Cleared a plugged defrost drain in the fridge and installed a new evaporator cover · Parts: DA97-07185C — Cover Assembly-Evap Ref · Result: Refrigerator returned to proper cooling temperatures

Uline under counter refrig (29f) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer called because nothing was working on their Uline model 29f under counter refrigerator. The unit had no cooling, no compressor operation, and showed no signs of electrical activity.

Diagnosis: Testing revealed the cold control had failed completely. This component regulates the refrigeration cycle, and when it fails, the entire system shuts down. The failed cold control was preventing any power from reaching the compressor and other cooling components.

Repair: Work: Installed new cold control · Parts: Cold control · Result: Refrigerator restored to normal operation

GE washer (GTW330ASK0WW) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer won’t operate after washing a comforter. This type of symptom often points to mechanical issues or safety lockouts triggered by overloading.

Maytag washer (MVWB750YW0) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their washer was very noisy on spin cycle and the noise had been getting worse. The machine was still washing clothes though, so they wondered if it might be a belt and/or drive pulley causing the problem.

Diagnosis: When we opened up the Maytag MVWB750YW0, we found the bearings had failed. This is a common cause of loud spinning noises in top-load washers, and the sound typically gets progressively worse as the bearings deteriorate further.

Repair: Work: Installed thrust bearing kit and belt · Parts: 12002213-KIT-BEARNG — thrust bearing kit, WP22003483-BELT-DRIV — drive belt · Result: Issue is resolved and operation is normal

Samsung washer (WF42H5600AP/A2) — Canton, OH

Reported: The washer doesn’t unlock at the end of the cycle. This left the homeowner unable to access their clean laundry, with the door remaining securely locked even after the wash cycle had completed.

Diagnosis: This is caused by a main Control Board failure. The control board sends signals to the door lock mechanism to release at the proper time. When this board malfunctions, it fails to send the unlock command. Sometimes the door lock will fail, but that typically will prevent the washer from cycling at all, not failing to unlock at the end of the cycle.

Repair: Work: After installing a new board, the issue is resolved · Parts: DC92-01621C — Main PCB Assembly, WP8182634 — Latch · Result: The washer is operating and cycling correctly

Whirlpool washer (RTW4516FW1) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer had just moved into the home and found their washer won’t complete a wash cycle. Doesn’t matter if it’s on a different setting. The unit was throwing an F8E1 error code indicating a fill problem.

Diagnosis: The F8E1 error code pointed to a fill issue, but the real culprit was the drain pipe installation. The drain pipe was too short, which caused the washer to siphon empty during the wash cycle. This prevented the unit from maintaining proper water levels to complete the cycle.

Repair: Work: Installed a longer stand pipe · Parts: Drain pipe-Extension · Result: The issue is resolved and the washer completes full cycles

LG dryer (DLG788WM. Whirlpool. M. Gew9200lW1) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported their LG dryer was not heating up. The unit would run through cycles but clothes came out damp and cold.

Repair: Work: Diagnosed gas connection issue · Parts: No parts recorded · Result: Customer advised gas line installation required

Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT920SADE3) — Canton, OH

Reported: The customer reported that dishes are not getting clean, seems like not enough water pressure. This type of symptom typically points to issues with the dishwasher’s circulation system.

Reported: The door was missing from the GE washer. The customer also had questions about other GE washers in the facility and wanted our technician to evaluate the condition of multiple units in Manor 3 on the 2nd floor.

Diagnosis: With the door completely missing from the machine, the washer was inoperable and unsafe. A missing door indicates either damage from misuse, wear over time, or potential issues with the door hinge system that led to complete failure.

Repair: Work: Equipment assessment and consultation · Parts: None · Result: Customer chose to replace units

Reported: The customer contacted us because their Maytag washer was not locking. This prevented the wash cycle from starting, leaving them unable to use the machine.

Reported: The customer reported that their Whirlpool washer won’t fill up. They had already checked the trap and cleaned it, and noted they had to remove the top to unlock the door. The unit was making humming sounds during operation.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we found that the hot water line had broken off of the soap dispenser. This break prevented proper water flow into the machine, causing the fill issues and the humming sound as the unit attempted to cycle without adequate water supply.

Repair: Work: Replaced the broken dispenser with hot water line connection · Parts: W10575334 — soap dispenser assembly · Result: Unit cycling properly, ran automatic diagnostic test to verify complete function

Maytag dishwasher (MDB4949SDM1) — East Rochester, OH

Reported: The customer called because their dishwasher smells funny and was smokin. These are classic warning signs of electrical issues that require immediate attention for safety reasons.

Diagnosis: The circuit board had a loose connection in burnt the board and wiring harness. This type of electrical failure creates both the burning smell and visible smoke the customer experienced. When circuit boards overheat due to loose connections, they can damage surrounding components.

Kenmore Washer; Dishwasher; not listed (110.20902990, LDF7561ST) — East Sparta, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their LG dishwasher was not draining properly. Additionally, their Kenmore washing machine was producing a burning rubber smell during operation, which is always a concerning symptom that requires immediate attention.

Diagnosis: For the dishwasher, we discovered suds build up that had run under the unit and leaked into the tray. This caused the float to trigger a leak error code, preventing normal operation. The washing machine revealed more serious issues: the motor was overheating and the clutch was slipping, both critical mechanical failures that explained the burning rubber odor.

Repair: Work: After clearing the water from the tray, the dishwasher is operating correctly

Whirlpool washer (WTW7300XW2) — Homeworth, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their washer stopped and got this code: F then 51 flashes. Their website research indicated this happens when there is a motor rotor position sensor (RPS) failure.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, we discovered the bearings have failed on the washer. While the F51 error code pointed to a sensor issue, the root cause was bearing failure, which affects the motor’s ability to maintain proper rotor position sensing.

Frigidaire washer (LTF2140FS1, LEQ1442ES1) — Louiscville, OH

Reported: The customer contacted us because their Frigidaire washer’s wash cycle keeps stopping. This intermittent operation was preventing them from completing normal laundry loads.

Diagnosis: Dryer 13 had a wire pulled off the start switch. Washer 45 had socks stuck in the drum against the dispenser hose, causing water to back up and overflow in the dispenser. The bearings in washer 45 were also failing — the drum was quite loose and didn’t sound good. Dryer 12 wouldn’t power on due to a loose connection on the timer. Dryer 14 was making scrubbing noises because the door was pushing the door switch into the drum.

Whirlpool washer (4217141) — Magnolia, OH

Reported: The customer reported that their washer won’t finish running through the cycle. It starts and shuts itself off.
