We responded to a service call in Canton, OH for an Admiral dryer that had multiple issues. The customer reported the drum not turning and a broken dryer knob. What we found was a unit that needed significant repair work to get back in proper working order.

The Problem

The customer complained that the drum not turning and the dryer knob broke. During our diagnosis, we discovered the dryer timer knob, belt and tension pulley were all broken.

Diagnosis

Our inspection revealed multiple component failures on this Admiral dryer. The dryer timer knob, belt and tension pulley were all broken. We also identified that the felt seal on drum and rear bearing needed replacement as part of a comprehensive repair.

The Repair

• Parts replaced: 131873304-KNOB, 279834-COIL-VALVE, 5304457724-DRYER PREVENTIVE MA
• Work performed: Installed new knob, replaced felt seal on drum, belt, pulley and rear bearing using the dryer repair kit. Also as a result the form of preventative maintenance, replaced the gas coil packs.
• Result: Washer and dryer both appear to be functioning properly. However, the gas to the home was off so we were unable to test the heat function on the dryer.
