Dryer problems I fix

Most dryer calls come down to one part or one airflow issue, not a dead machine. Here’s what I see most often:

• No heat, or clothes still damp at the end of the cycle
• Won’t start or won’t power on
• Won’t tumble — the drum won’t turn
• Loud, squealing, or grinding while running
• Takes far too long to dry a normal load
• Shuts off early, before the load is dry

A surprising number of “my dryer is dying” calls turn out to be restricted airflow — a clogged vent or blocked exhaust makes a healthy dryer run hot, run long, and shut off early. I check that first, because it’s often the whole problem.
