Whirlpool Dishwasher Repair – CANTON, OH (WDT750SAHZ0)

A Whirlpool dishwasher on Marsh Ave NW in Canton wasn’t cleaning dishes properly, with the customer suspecting tubing issues around the unit. Our diagnostic revealed the real culprit was a blocked lower spray arm preventing proper water circulation during wash cycles.

The Problem

The customer reported that the dishwasher does not seem to clean dishes and mentioned that tubing around the dishwasher may need replaced. There was also evidence of minor diverter seepage on the floor, though this was cosmetic only and not active.

Diagnosis

We found an F2E1 error logged for a stuck key on the user interface, though this was intermittent and not affecting current wash performance. The diagnostic test cycle showed no error codes and all functions passed. Visual inspection of the diverter disc showed it was intact with no damage. Water duct, middle and upper spray arms were all in good condition. However, the lower spray arm was obstructed, which was the root cause of poor wash performance.

The Repair

  • Parts replaced: WPW10491331 — Spray arm
  • Work performed: Replaced lower spray arm and verified rotation
  • Result: After initial completion, customer reported door not closing/latching. Upper rack was not adjusted properly with left side in opposition and right side in bottom position. Corrected rack positioning.

Is It Worth Repairing?

This Whirlpool dishwasher model is a solid mid-range unit that’s worth maintaining. Spray arm replacements are routine maintenance items, and with proper care, these dishwashers can provide many more years of reliable service. The repair cost is minimal compared to replacement.

Maintenance Tips for Whirlpool Dishwashers

  • Check and clean spray arms monthly by removing and rinsing under hot water to prevent debris buildup
  • Run an empty cycle with dishwasher cleaner every 3-4 months to maintain optimal performance
  • Ensure upper and lower racks are properly positioned to prevent door latch issues
