Common Dishwasher Problems We Service
Most dishwasher issues map to a small set of failures: drain pump, water valve, heating element, control board, or door latch. The diagnostic narrows it quickly.
Not draining
Clogged filter, failed drain pump, blocked drain hose, garbage disposal knockout still in place (after new disposal install), or check-valve failure. E24/E25 on Bosch/Thermador maps to this directly.
Not cleaning dishes
Clogged or misaligned spray arms, low water fill (water inlet valve), failed wash motor, soil sensor failure, or detergent dispenser failure. Older units may need a circulation pump replacement.
Leaking water
Door gasket/seal failure, pump seal leak, spray arm seal, hose connection, or tub-floor crack. Source identification is the diagnostic — water tracks under the cabinet from any of these.
Won’t start / won’t latch
Door latch failure (most common), control panel failure, touch-button board failure, or no-power condition. On Bosch/Thermador the latch switch is a known wear point — straightforward replacement.
Error codes (Bosch/Thermador)
E24: drain not pumping — filter or drain pump. E25: drain pump physically blocked. E15: water in base — leak detected. E22: filter clogged. Our Bosch authorization covers Thermador Star Sapphire dishwashers directly — same platform.
Cloudy dishes / film
Hard water mineral buildup, rinse aid empty/clogged dispenser, water temperature too low, or detergent type/amount issue. Not always a repair — sometimes a settings or maintenance issue. We diagnose to confirm.
Standing water in tub
Drain cycle didn’t complete — almost always drain pump filter or drain pump. Clean the filter first; if water returns, the pump is failing. Common 5–10 year repair on dishwashers.
Control panel issues
Touch-button failure, display flickering or dead, cycle won’t select. Usually control board or panel ribbon cable. Diagnostic isolates which component is failing before parts.
