Whirlpool Washer Repair – Carrollton, OH (WTW5057LW0)

A service call to a home on Milo Rd NW in Carrollton, OH brought Samuel out to take a look at a Whirlpool top-load washer, model WTW5057LW0, that had left a load of laundry wet and then refused to complete a spin cycle. The lid had locked up after the wash cycle, warning lights began flashing, and a brief unplugging only partially resolved the issue. Following Whirlpool Technical Service Pointer W11750573 Rev. B, Samuel was able to address the concern and get the washer back in working order.

The Problem

ran a load Monday evening and when I went to switch it out the lid would not unlock. I tried multiple times then a few lights started flashing. We unplugged it for about 10 minutes and were able to get the lid open. The clothes were still wet (not sitting in water) so I was going to spin them again but it didn’t work.

The Repair

Possible Concern:
Vertically mounted drain pump not draining and/or F9E1 fault code.
Potential Causes:
? Broken wire harness due to inadvertent hand cart interaction during
installation or during extreme o?-balance load scenarios.
? Drain pump connector unplugged.
? Drain pump open circuit.
? Drain pump clogged.

Parts replaced: W11643701 (lower harness).
