Washing machine problems I fix
Most washer calls come down to one part or one worn component, not a dead machine. Here’s what I see most often:
- Won’t drain, or water left standing in the tub
- Won’t spin, or leaves clothes soaking wet
- Won’t start or won’t power on
- Leaking water onto the floor
- Loud, banging, or grinding during the spin cycle
- Won’t fill, or fills too slowly
- Off-balance, shaking, or walking across the floor
- Door or lid won’t lock or unlock
- Not cleaning clothes well
I work on top-load, front-load, and high-efficiency washers. If yours is a Speed Queen, LG, or Whirlpool machine, I have specific pages for those brands — but I service every major make.
What to expect
I start by diagnosing the actual cause, not guessing at parts. A washer that won’t drain or spin can trace back to a pump, a belt, a lid switch, or a control problem — and each one is a different fix. When I know what’s wrong, I explain it to you in plain terms.
Then I give you an honest call on repair or replace. A good washer is usually worth fixing, and a single part often beats buying a whole new machine. But if it isn’t worth fixing, I’ll tell you that too.
Most repairs are done in one visit. I use OEM parts, and completed repairs are backed by my own 6-month labor warranty.
