Sam founded his first appliance business in Louisville, OH in 2018 and built his reputation on something specific: he serviced Samsung and LG when most local independents would not touch them. The parts pipelines were complicated, the platforms were unfamiliar, and the typical shop sent those calls back to the customer with a "we do not work on those." Sam learned the platforms, opened the parts accounts, and took the work. Seven-plus years later that early decision is a competitive moat: there is real, repeatable platform depth on LG that you cannot build in six months or buy off a shelf.
The history matters because lineage is how this kind of expertise gets carried forward. Sam sold that original business in 2022 and spent the next three years managing the service department at the acquiring dealer, where the team grew to six technicians running 35 to 50 calls per day. On November 30, 2025 Sam relaunched independently as Louisville Appliance Repair, and the LG platform depth came with him. Today LAR holds four concurrent factory authorizations: Bosch, Thermador, GE & Speed Queen factory authorized. LG is intentionally not in that list because LG does not run an independent authorization program comparable to those four. LG Washers
Front-load and top-load LG washers, including the WM series, the WashTower, and the recent direct-drive top-load platform. The patterns we see most: UE balance errors on front-loads (usually load distribution, suspension dampers, or a worn shock rather than a board), OE drain errors traced to the drain pump or a clogged trap, rear drum bearing failures on front-loads with several years of weekly use (loud spin noise growing into a grinding howl), and door lock and door switch faults presenting as a cycle that will not start. LG Dryers
Electric and gas LG dryers across the DLE and DLG families, plus the WashTower dryer half. On electric models the heating element and the thermistor are the two parts we replace most. On gas models the flame sensor and the gas valve coils get added to that list. Drum support rollers show up as a thump or squeak that gets louder week over week and the fix takes one visit. Sensor-dry complaints (loads finishing wet) usually trace to the moisture sensor bars or the thermistor drift, not the control board.
LG Dishwashers
LG dishwashers across the LDF, LDP, and LDT lines. The patterns we see most: tE heating errors (heater or thermistor), LE motor errors on the direct-drive wash motor, drain pump failures presenting as standing water or extended cycle times, and door latch and door switch faults stopping cycles mid-run. Spray-arm complaints and "not cleaning right" calls almost always trace to the inlet valve flow, the spray arm bearings, or the filter assembly, not the wash motor.
LG Ranges
Electric, gas, and induction LG ranges. On electric models we see bake and broil element failures, F1, F2, and F3 control board codes (which point to specific diagnostic paths rather than a guess), and oven sensor drift presenting as "the oven runs hot" or "the oven runs cold." On gas models the igniter is the wear item. On induction the most common service item is the cooling fan and the IGBT module on the inverter board, not the cooktop glass.
LG Microwaves
Countertop and over-the-range LG microwaves. Magnetron failures (microwave runs but does not heat) and door switch failures (will not start, or trips the in-wall breaker on close) are the two most common service items. Over-the-range units add the vent fan motor and the cooktop bulb. We carry common LG microwave parts on the truck.

LG's Linear Compressor — The 10-Year Parts Warranty Pathway
LG provides a 10-year parts warranty on the linear compressor for most LG refrigerators manufactured after 2017. The compressor itself is the most expensive single component in an LG refrigerator, and most local independents will not touch a warranty-eligible LG fridge because the labor pathway is unfamiliar. We do the work. LG ships the warranty-covered compressor part directly to the customer under their warranty, and we perform the labor at our flat labor rate. The result is that you get the platform expertise without driving the truck to the nearest regional LG-authorized provider, and you keep the parts warranty pathway open.
