Samuel was called back to a service address on Northfield Ave SE in Canton, OH for a GE refrigerator that had already received major component replacement but continued freezing the back wall and making noise. The Repair

After consulting GE Tech Line (case 23730746), all serviceable defrost, fan, and control components were replaced — defrost heater and harness with integrated sensors, evaporator cover and fan assembly restoring the factory vapor barrier, and the main control board — to address recurring heavy freezer frost and moist-air intrusion at the evaporator. Door and drawer gaskets, defrost drain (clear, water standing in J-trap), fill-tube grommet, articulating mullion, and the evaporator fan connector were all verified good. Returned 7/17/26 and confirmed via SmartHQ cycle history that the fault persists on every defrost cycle: the freezer evaporator is reaching approximately 70–75°F with heater-on durations of 37–41 minutes, terminating on the extended-time limit rather than on temperature. With every serviceable component now replaced and the sealed system and air path confirmed intact, the unit is deemed unrepairable per GE Tech Line under case 23730746.
