Whirlpool Dryer Repair – Louisville, OH (WGD70HEBW1)

On a service call to Louisville, OH, Samuel Willhite diagnosed a Whirlpool dryer (model WGD70HEBW1) that would power on but refuse to start. The root cause turned out to be multiple failed mechanical components, including a broken idler pulley, a seized blower wheel stripped on the motor shaft, and a broken motor pulley. After replacing the worn drive components and cutting the seized blower wheel free with a hole saw, the dryer was restored to full operation with strong airflow verified at the exterior vent.

The Repair

Initial service found the idler pulley broken, drive belt off and dry rotted, and the motor pulley broken off; installed maintenance kit (drive belt, idler pulley, drum support rollers) and new motor pulley. Blower wheel was then found stripped on the motor shaft, restricting airflow; replacement ordered and installed this visit. Old blower wheel was seized and cut from the motor shaft with a hole saw for removal. New blower wheel installed and all lint vacuumed from the dryer interior. Strong airflow verified at the exterior vent termination and no stored fault codes; prior airflow fault attributed to the stripped blower wheel. Dryer operating properly at completion.
