Bosch Dishwasher Repair – North Canton, OH (SHX5AV52UC/01)
A Bosch dishwasher on Summit Street SE in North Canton was throwing a recurring E25 error and draining intermittently. Samuel traced the root cause to a check valve clip in the sump that was not fully seated, cleaned the obstruction blocking the locating groove, reseated the clip, and confirmed the unit drained normally before closing out the call.
The Problem
Dishwasher recurring E25 error code, intermittent drain issue — clears temporarily but returns
The Repair
Root cause found: check valve clip in sump (under filter) was not seated — groove it locates into was obstructed, keeping valve from clipping in fully. Cleaned obstruction, reseated clip, confirmed it now slips into groove correctly and holds. Ran unit — draining normally, no E25.
Could not replicate the “water standing in bottom + E25” complaint on this visit — makes sense if the valve was intermittently seating/unseating on its own before, since a partially-open check valve backflows and causes exactly that symptom.
Customer also has a separate drain line issue from the disposal into the wall — having that serviced/cleared independently. Advised him to call back if E25 returns after that’s done, since that could be a contributing/compounding factor (restricted house drain line = backpressure = same symptom).
