On a service call to Louisville, OH, Samuel Willhite found a Whirlpool refrigerator (model WRF767SDHZ02) chiming continuously, with a burnt icemaker harness, a shorted freezer evaporator fan motor, and damaged freezer drawer slides all contributing to the situation. The fan motor and bracket were replaced on this visit, with additional parts coordinated through Whirlpool for the remaining items.

The Problem

Continuous chiming; power cycled at breaker for 10 minutes with no change; unplugged LED lights in ceiling and freezer; verified door sensors are not stuck.

The Repair

Found icemaker, shorted, harness burnt. Visible scorching on freezer liner and harness visibly burnt/shorted to icemaker.Customer to reach out to whirlpool to see if they can supply icemaker. It’s currently back ordered. Freezer evaporator fan motor shorted, pulling DC load down. Whirlpool to send evaporator fan motor. Freezer drawer slides hanging up. Need replaced as well.
