He found worn tumbler components and a damaged blower wheel, replaced the worn parts, and confirmed the dryer ran clean and quiet before leaving.

The Repair

Diagnosed Maytag gas dryer MDG9316AWW, complaint of black marks on clothes and fabric catching/tearing. Found worn rear tumbler support rollers and roller shafts allowing the drum to drop and rub, worn tumbler belt, and a damaged blower wheel. Repair required belt, two rear support rollers, and blower wheel.

10/28/2026 — Customer approved the repair. Replaced the tumbler belt (WP33002535), both rear tumbler support rollers (12001541) and the blower wheel (33001790). Reassembled and test-ran the dryer: drum turns smooth and quiet, no rubbing, heats and cycles normally. Checked exhaust airflow at the vent — about 20 mph, good flow. Unit tests fine. Repair complete.
