Frigidaire Dryer Repair – Alliance, OH (Ffle2022mw2)

We received a call from a tenant on Roseland Road in Alliance, OH reporting their Frigidaire dryer was making a loud noise. When we arrived, we found the belt had broken and the pulley was rubbing on the shaft of the motor causing considerable noise.

The Problem

The dryer was making a loud noise during operation. The tenant also mentioned that previously it was taking quite a while to dry clothes, indicating potential airflow issues alongside the mechanical problem.

Diagnosis

The belt had broken and the pulley was rubbing on the shaft of the motor causing considerable noise. We also discovered the dryer did not come with the light and the plug must have fallen out at some point, leaving an open hole in the drum cavity.

The Repair

  • Parts replaced: 5304457724 — dryer preventive maintenance kit (includes belt, tension pulley and bearing in the back of the drum)
  • Parts replaced: 5300622034 — heating element coil
  • Parts replaced: 137576600 — drum cavity light hole plug
  • Work performed: Replaced the belt, tension pulley and bearing kit, replaced the heat element while we had it apart, installed plug for the light hole
  • Result: Dryer seems to be operating correctly

Is It Worth Repairing?

Frigidaire dryers are generally reliable mid-range appliances. This model likely had several more years of service life remaining, making the belt and heating element replacement a smart investment. The preventive maintenance kit we installed addresses the most common wear points in these units.

Maintenance Tips for Frigidaire Dryers

  • Clean the lint filter after every load — clogged filters force the heating element to work harder
  • Have your dryer vent professionally cleaned annually to prevent extended dry times and reduce strain on components
  • Check the drum light plug periodically — a missing plug allows lint to accumulate in unwanted areas
