A Whirlpool dryer in Massillon needed its vent reconnected after a moving company removed part of the HVAC piping that connected to the floor vent. We also discovered electrical issues that needed attention during the service call.

The Problem

The customer reported that the vent from dryer needs connected to vent in floor. The moving company removed the part of the vent HVAC piping that came out of the floor.

Diagnosis

We found the dryer vent was completely disconnected from the floor vent system. Additionally, during our inspection we discovered the neutral connections on the terminal block needed correction, and the power cord lacked proper strain relief where it enters the dryer cabinet.

• Work performed: Reconnected the vent through the floor using a stiff aluminum vent hose, checked and corrected the neutral connections on terminal block
• Result: Dryer properly vented to exterior with corrected electrical connections
