When a Kenmore washer at a home on David Ave NW in Canton, OH raised concerns about possibly stripped gears, Louisville Appliance Repair sent Samuel out to take a look. After running a wash cycle on the machine, Samuel confirmed it was functioning as designed, with overloading identified as the root cause of the concern. No parts were needed beyond the diagnostic service call.

The Repair
The machine was loaded to the top of the drum with heavy bedding, pillows and other clothing. It is not designed to operate in this fashion. It normally will fill with about 68 inches of water in the bottom of the drum and wash a small load of clothes. They’re not designed to wash more than about three or four pairs of jeans at one time. To properly resolve the issue, it would be necessary to not wash such large loads of laundry. While I was there, I ran a quick wash cycle on it. It was functioning and operating as designed.
